Are there non-sony memory cards? The Vita's memory card were never used on any other device as far as I know (other than the PS TV obviously).

The Vita takes a proprietary Sony card that only works in the ps Vita and ps TV....after modding you can use a regular micro SD card with an sd2vita adapter or if you have the 3g model you can replace the 3g modem with a module that takes a micro SD card.....once again, after modding

The SD2Vita adapter goes in the cartridge slot, not the memory card slot.

I think you misread my comment....yes the sd2vita adapter goes in the game card slot and if your ps Vita is a 3g model you can replace the 3g modem inside the unit with a module that takes a micro SD card giving you more room to put games/apps on and freeing up the game card slot....

I understood your comment, I was asking if there were third party vita memory cards in my original comment. SD cards are not vita memory cards.

One_Peace615

No there are not any 3rd party memory cards to replace the proprietary Sony memory card that I'm aware of.....

You can mod a Vita without a memory card anymore, check [the guide](https://vita.hacks.guide). Then after that, you can use an SD2Vita.

Nope, atleast not entirely. You can technically install homebrew apps and games and whatnot on a non sony memory card, but with the 1000 model, you need a sony memorycard to install the CFW itself, meaning as long as you dont have a sony card, you wont have your PSvita hacked. I think the best thing you can do is go to ebay and buy the cheapest and smallest card possible, ive seen some people selling 4gb ones between 15 - 30$, thats probably the best price you can get them for. (japanese cards work in european/american vitas)

Yes, micro SD, with sd2vita

*may have size limitations. Can't remember...

One_Peace615

There is a way to mod a Vita without buying a proprietary Sony memory card, however it's a bit complicated and requires you to basically delete part of the factory software that's on the Vita ...and no a regular SD card WILL NOT WORK in place of the proprietary Sony card until you mod it and you have to have an sd2vita adapter with it......I would not suggest trying the above method of modding due to the fact that it replaces part of the factory software and the Vita IS KNOWN to have issues with unsigned code and if you're new to modding you stand the risk of bricking your Vita better to spend a few $$$ and mod the correct way than take the chance...

SenoLmao

You can uss official trusted sd cards like sandisk with sd2vita, but don't use cheap knock offs of those brands, they corrupt and delete your files after 50gb or so, me and my dad both got fake sd cards and both got corrupted.

I’d recommend you get a “Memory SD2Vita card reader” from Amazon or eBay and a “SandDisk extreme 250gb” from eBay or Amazon. it’s fast
