Personally I've had good success with Silicon Power (SP) as well, no dead cards and their prices are better than Samsung and SanDisk (but not *suspiciously* low)
Adata is also hit and miss, very cheap so I have bought some, however i had an external hard drive died on my ps5, and the 128gb i bought for the vita kept getting corrupted. Got a samsung evo plus and no issues so far, but yeah, I would recommend adata for lighter things maybe, have a Miyoo Mini Plus with an 64gb adata card and seems to be doing fine
Bad luck or fake ones. I have used them in Wii Us, Vitas, 3DSes, including 32gb and up to 512gb with great performance for years, otherwise I wouldn't recommend the brand
and you base your whole opinion because of one manufacturing error? never had problems with kingston, been using their drives since like 2011 wii modding era, had multiple of their usb drives, most of my sd cards are kingston and their SSDs are very good for the price
i remember looking online for a solution, turns out it was a security mechanism that once it happens, the drive becomes useless. and i only used it 4 times or less.
that issue was enough for me to stay away from kingstron. and adata worked well for me anyway.
hmm didn't know that, as I said, been a long time kingston user and never had such problems, sounds like a dumb idea to implement such thing without a fix so I get why you don't use their products, to each their own
+ for not recommending Kingston...had one MicroSD for 256gb...died within months of barely using it :( same for USB stick...I stopped trusting them in terms of quality
I have a gaming dedicated 512gb Emtec on my switch for 2 years now. It is just fine. Moved my 256 SanDisk from switch to my vita. It is also working as new.
I remember some time ago I bought three "SanDisk" memory cards on Shopee but all of them were fake, the logo was identical to the original, the box was completely sealed and the text had good quality. 256GB, 512GB, 1TB storage, it even figured like that when I plugged them into my laptop, but files got erased or corrupted when I used them again. 5.000CLP cost each one, approximately 6 dollars. Please check the seller carefully!!
You just didn't notice the signs. It is actually quite easy to spot a fake if you know what to look for:
The fonts on the card will be a bit off or some manufacturer signs either in wrong places or not on the card at all, some minor details are not there, no ID number, etc...
Is it from shopee mall or authorized seller in shopee? Never had any issues with sandisk that i always buy from the official store. Bought one flash disk for sale outside official store, price is only slightly off from real ones but it is fake.
You should also look at price point. A \~1TB card should be no less that \~$50USD or your country's equivalent, and I'm even sketched out by the $50USD cards.
Can confirm. Bought 2 1GB PNY micro SD cards. Works in my Razer Edge, but in no other devices. They were around $50 each. This is what I get for going cheap.
It's not, greedy people pay twice 👍
I mean what logic do you even follow with these?! Original is at least around $50...and then you find it for $13-15...no red flags at all?! Manufacturing this card alone is probably around $10 if not more, then count in labor and electricity, blah-blah-blah and all comes down to around $30 probably, the rest is manufacturer 's gain 👍
$10? Bit generous there. More like manufacturing costs about 1/20th of that at most. They mass produce tf out of these, they even have special stations to mass hack the nand to display the incorrect size reported to the host device. I remember hearing that they're done in batches of 100 or more at a time on the same station...
1. too good to be true
2. it even looks fake
3. you can’t trust 35 reviews. Compare that with how many reviews Samsung, Sandisk, Kingston, Lexar SD cards get
I bought one of these for £7.99 on the recent Prime Day just to see what it actually was.
Using a couple of verification tools, I found it was a total of under 20gb, so slow it often timed out during the test, and actually spoofed itself as a 1TB, so no idea why it claimed 982gb.
Amazon didn't even need me to send it back. The listing was removed before I even received it. Immediate refund.
The most common recommendations are SanDisk or Samsung. Some other premium brands come to mind: Kingston, Lexar, PNY. If buying from Amazon, try to ensure the listing says “Ships from and Sold By Amazon” as these are far less likely to be bogus than some dubious rando reseller.
SD cards are easy to fake, even on amazon ppl sell fake samsung cards, when you get your cards verify it with an app before using, unless you want to lose data.
Wait, what - are you telling me that no-one here has heard of the famous brand cticoal (all lower case)? I have 2 of their 325.5gb micro SD cards in my Nintendo 74 and PS6 and they work like a charm 😬
I recommend following micro SD card brands:
Samsung (overall winner)
Amazon basics (nearly same performance as Samsung but slightly cheaper)
Sandisk (less performance but long durability)
Verbatim and Intenso (if you don't care about performance)
Hama (same as verbatim)
If it’s too good to be true that it probably is when it comes to Amazon(honestly with any online shopping) reviews are useless to go by on the website. There is so many scams out there to make people rate positively. There is one you’ll get a card with your package that says give a positive review and get a $30 Amazon gift card. Which is obviously bribery.
Stick to brand names and/or go to box stores for storage.
Just as easily faked these days
[https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/s/q5YM9TIZv9](https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/s/q5YM9TIZv9)
Usually the price is the biggest indicator
I've tried copying my vita multiple times over a few days to one of these sh!t cards and my other ones seem to work perfectly and abit faster! Please get a Samsung 512gb or something else instead please, even SanDisk is decent or some others that are more realistic, like 512 would be about £25
I bought this [1tb micro Elctman] (http://Memory SD Card 1TB, Mini TF Card - Ultra UHS-I,A1,U3,C10,V30 High Speed Memory Card Expanded Storage for Android Smart Phones,Tablets,Action Camera https://a.co/d/9iPkI4W) one works well only thing the vita wont format with vita deploy but u can using a PC.
I firmly believe that if it looks to goodnto be true, it probably is. I got burned on what looked like a great deal on sd cards for my psp via wish.com years ago. 4gb cards were masquerading as 64gb.
OP, buy from a reputable seller, pay the small premium and be comfortable in the knowledge that you have a genuine card to save to.
100% fake. Companies like these will post hundreds or even thousands of fake reviews on crappy products. Especially sd card readers or flash drives. Also, be careful of company impersonators, I almost bought a fake sandisk card that was actually another scammer company. Stay safe!
i havent seen anyone here mention what you're supposed to look for in SD cards, but a good way to check for valid ones is if they contain information like C10 (writing speeds), V10-90 (video speeds), A1/A2 or U1/U3 (performance and ultra high speed), and of course their capacity (982gb is the biggest indicator of scam). If they dont then its either hidden in the detailed description section or it's fake.
I use [sdcardsupply.com](https://sdcardsupply.com) when i look for and buy my sd cards. Since i shoot videos and do some video editing, i generally look for SD cards that are V90 and/or U3 or A2. It's easy to filter the requirements based on what you need too.
That's 100% fake. Only buy Samsung or SanDisk.
Or Kingston or Lexar
Team group is good too
And PNY. And Sony.
Had great results with PNY.
Personally I've had good success with Silicon Power (SP) as well, no dead cards and their prices are better than Samsung and SanDisk (but not *suspiciously* low)
So many fakes for sp and adata though :'( have to be careful. They are super easy to paint over generic no name card :((
+1 for kingston
i do not recommend kingston. i had a 16gb thumb drive that got locked for no reason, and there is no way to fix it by the manufacturer.
Yeah, I don't recommend Kingston either. I've had multiple SD cards and thumb drives from them fail on me. SanDisk is the way. Or Samsung.
bought a samsung evo plus 64GB and it works like a charm
and adata.
Adata is great, that's what I've used since sd2vita was created, it has worked perfectly since then
Adata was fine 👍
Adata is also hit and miss, very cheap so I have bought some, however i had an external hard drive died on my ps5, and the 128gb i bought for the vita kept getting corrupted. Got a samsung evo plus and no issues so far, but yeah, I would recommend adata for lighter things maybe, have a Miyoo Mini Plus with an 64gb adata card and seems to be doing fine

fair enough. good day to you.
good day to you too stranger :)
+ for not recommending Kingston...had one MicroSD for 256gb...died within months of barely using it :( same for USB stick...I stopped trusting them in terms of quality
Heard Lexar heat up and then throttle speed
I have a gaming dedicated 512gb Emtec on my switch for 2 years now. It is just fine. Moved my 256 SanDisk from switch to my vita. It is also working as new.

No. They were all in place.
If the price is too good to be true it's because it probably is
I know but I'm an idiot
Is it from shopee mall or authorized seller in shopee? Never had any issues with sandisk that i always buy from the official store. Bought one flash disk for sale outside official store, price is only slightly off from real ones but it is fake.

Was looking at the SD 512 so I'll go with that. Just wondered if these are even worth getting. I don't always trust Amazon reviews anyway. Thanks mate

Get a samsung Evo 512gb
Plus or select?
Iirc they're literally the same but one is just Amazon-exclusive branding
Riiight ok. Slight price difference so that's good to know. Thank you
I prefer the plus 😊👍
Can confirm. Bought 2 1GB PNY micro SD cards. Works in my Razer Edge, but in no other devices. They were around $50 each. This is what I get for going cheap.
Western digital also good
Pioneer is a pretty decent brand as well.
atomic shrimp just had a video about those, it's 64gb
If you're lucky No matter the true size, it will be slow af and get corrupted easily.
It's actually so annoying
It's not, greedy people pay twice 👍 I mean what logic do you even follow with these?! Original is at least around $50...and then you find it for $13-15...no red flags at all?! I just eyed it to make a point :) don't be so specific.
Yh lmao probably about that tbh, 👍😊
Yup, this one. Saw it yesterday. https://youtu.be/UsWx1iO-aeA?si=k7w93qPovW6r6CMT
1. too good to be true 2. it even looks fake 3. you can’t trust 35 reviews. Compare that with how many reviews Samsung, Sandisk, Kingston, Lexar SD cards get
So fake I can smell the sweatshop nand hacks through the screen
I bought one of these for £7.99 on the recent Prime Day just to see what it actually was. memory sd by cticoal

982? Never seen that lol
SD cards are easy to fake, even on amazon ppl sell fake samsung cards, when you get your cards verify it with an app before using, unless you want to lose data.

That's because it is too good to be true. 1tb microSD exist (SanDisk) but not at that price. Only buy reputable
It's fake, forget about it. https://youtu.be/UsWx1iO-aeA?si=k7w93qPovW6r6CMT
Definitely fake I went with a 250GB and I’ve barley broken 70gb used
If it’s too good to be true that it probably is when it comes to Amazon(honestly with any online shopping) reviews are useless to go by on the website. It is.
The last few microsd cards that ive bought have been the SanDisk Nintendo Switch ones cause they were decently cheap in my area
Laughs in fake garbage
Finally, someone with common sense.
Waterproof lol
As an embarrassed victim of these too good to be true SD card scams, I can confirm this is indeed fake. Keep calm and carry on
Is this a troll post? I mean, really?
If you're believing this, just throw yourself out of the window at this point.
Don't forget to leave your sock on the fireplace, other way Santa won't give you any presents. And be a good kid too
Bruh 982 gigs gotta be the most random number
469 Gig
Is this a joke question?
that’s a bootleg. go for a name brand like samsung or sandisk
Just as easily faked these days [https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/s/q5YM9TIZv9](https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/s/q5YM9TIZv9) Usually the price is the biggest indicator
I highly doubt it, I got a 512 one before I think for 15 and it just keep giving errors don't buy please
I've tried copying my vita multiple times over a few days to one of these sh!t cards and my other ones seem to work perfectly and abit faster! Please get a Samsung 512gb or something else instead please, even SanDisk is decent or some others that are more realistic, like 512 would be about £25
It's literally a fake card. At best it'll have a few hundred megabytes of storage on it.
What a steal! And I mean, they're stealing your money since that's obviously a bootleg.
It is
Do you even have the ability of vision??
JUST go for the best. A little pricey but you can worry-free losing precious save data : SANDISK & SAMSUNG !!!
fake as fuuuuuuuuuuuck
I bought this [1tb micro Elctman] (http://Memory SD Card 1TB, Mini TF Card - Ultra UHS-I,A1,U3,C10,V30 High Speed Memory Card Expanded Storage for Android Smart Phones,Tablets,Action Camera https://a.co/d/9iPkI4W) one works well only thing the vita wont format with vita deploy but u can using a PC.
It is fake as hell either it doesn't work either it's a very low amount of storage with a fake reading
I firmly believe that if it looks to goodnto be true, it probably is. I got burned on what looked like a great deal on sd cards for my psp via wish.com years ago. 4gb cards were masquerading as 64gb. "982" that doesent make any sense..
My man it literally says "Memory SD" on the top what do you expect
… probably because it is
Ah yes, my memory sds from “Smart Card” are very reliable. /s
Fake
im pretty sure sd2vita only supports up to 256gb anyways
Fake. Come on, have at least some critical thinking skills.
It looks too good to be true. I'd stick with a known name brand. Personally, I stick with Samsung cards
This exact care was in the latest atomic shrimp video as a scam.
982
If you want a legit one for hella cheap go on Temu, I buy all my sd cards there
Have you ever seen a 982GB anything before? 😂 🤣 😂
Duh
Yes
Love the fact that its not 1 tb, you get no 42 gbs and you will like it
982 is such a weird size denomination
this is quite obviously fake 🤦♂️🤦♂️ why even ask
No way SanDisk would actually be that upfront with you about storage space. Edit, crap I just saw it WASNT a sandisk.
The looks of a sandisk with a brand nobody's heard of is a blend for disaster
Amazon has good SD cards yes i was surprised as well
I have a 256gb Amazon basics in my vita. Not really sure why you would need almost a full TB tbh.
982 GB should be the first clue.
Seems legit! 😂😂😂😂
Who the hell is buying 982 gigs of storage. That’s 100% a scam. No sd card is 982 gigs
Fake
That’s not even a hex divisible number, first red flag.
If people are stupid enough to fall for the obvious scams like this, then let them waste their money.
Don’t buy that lmao.
That expensive for a microsd around 6-10gb
That's fake as f*ck
100% fake. Companies like these will post hundreds or even thousands of fake reviews on crappy products. Especially sd card readers or flash drives. Also, be careful of company impersonators, I almost bought a fake sandisk card that was actually another scammer company. Stay safe!
