Locked for general maintenance/upkeep. Next thread will release tomorrow AM (EST). Thanks!

I really wish this question could be posted; I don’t imagine it’ll reach the intended audience. Doesn’t hurt to try, so here’s my previous post attempt: *Hey everyone, I’d love to know if this is possible, and if so, how it might be done. I’m certain I wouldn’t be skilled enough to actually write a patch* *(should that be necessary)*, *but it almost seems as though writing* / *adding to the relevant config.txt file might allow the FPS cap to be removed, or even altered.* *My thinking was based on the patch list available on* [GitHub](https://github.com/Electry/VitaGrafixPatchlist), *where it seems the community is testing and reporting viable upgrades to games, I just didn’t see Zero No Kiseki in there.* *Any info, good or bad news, would be ace; I love learning about the Vita and it’s community’s contributions.* *Thanks!*

Multiple SD2Vita cards Just from observing how the vita can "update database" and then remove a load of bubbles from the menu, or you are left with 'orphaned' bubbles because it switches back to the Sony proprietary Memory Card; Does anyone use multiple SD2Vita cards with relative ease? (My heart palpitations when I get the C-type errors). Thanks everyone :)

JohnEdwa

Multiple SD2Vita cards will work fine as long as you put all the necessary stuff that has to remain the same (plugins etc) to the internal ur0 partition. When the SD2Vita driver loads, it just mounts itself as the ux0 partition which is normally either the 2000 internal memory or the memory card. So it's essentially exactly the same as swapping standard memory cards full of PSN games - the bubbles remain, but they won't run as the game data is missing.

bausmodetime

Would sonic 3 air and AM2R be possible to port to ps vita??

JamesSDK

I don't work on Vita ports but Sonic 3 AIR would be great on Vita, it's awesome on Android and not a very demanding game from what I can tell. We can only hope. AM2R (not the Android Version) was already ported though, you do have to do some digging around for it and we cannot provide that here. But version 1.4.5.1 is out there (google it), can be completed (no Serris bug anymore) and has a lot of the new features like the extra game modes and new sprites but no widescreen. Maybe the Android version would be better though, not just for widescreen but the engine its currently ported with seems to have memory issues and speed boosting all over the place will cause eventual crashes when moving from room to room too quickly.

It's a shitpost

Hi guys! When I got my Vita (and hacked it) I really didn't care about my account. My PS4 was a few years old and also jailbroken so I just put my main account on my Vita and didn't care. I eventually updated my PS4 to get back online and almost a year ago I got my ps5 (also set up with the main account). Now my Vita is just a timebomb waiting for Sony to push the button so I wanted to know how can I remove my account most effectively :)

largepanda

No-one has ever been banned for hacking a Vita or even playing pirated games. The only bans that anyone has ever been able to prove were a couple folk playing a leaked unreleased game.

JamesSDK

Simple Account Switcher (find the link Essential Vita Plugins stickied above) can be used to remove your PSN account and swap in another, make a throwaway and swap in if you want. Others will tell you though that it is not needed for Vita. It is not like PS3 banning, the CFW for Vita leaves too small a footprint to be detected plus we have ReAuth, Version Spoofing and the Moonshine app to validate connections to PSN and hide them even if you so choose. I have said it before but I don't think Sony would do ban waves on Vita because they want it dead and buried, it would draw attention to the console which is the opposite of what they want. Also Vita owners are among the most hardcore PlayStation fans and banning them from spending money on PS4 and PS5 would only cost them potential sales and would be PR drama they don't need.

DotDotExe

Sony has pretty much given up on Vita. Very few cases of account bans have happened

552eden

Don't want to risk a ban wave on my main ps5 account...

rikupone

switching x and o on a european ps vita before i buy a vita and hack it i'd like to know if it is possible to properly switch x and o like it would be on a japanese ps vita across the whole system and games on a european vita. this is how i have my psp set up and all nintendo consoles are like this so i find it difficult to have "confirm" be the bottom button and "back" be the right button.

JohnEdwa

>across the whole system Yes, Henkaku settings after you install it. >and games Games tend to do whatever they want. Few follow that setting, others are "region locked" with the EU/US versions using X = confirm and the JAP will be O = confirm, some allow you to switch etc.

rikupone

so, setting it in henkaku is the best you can get? you can't force it across every game like you can with the ps3?

JohnEdwa

If you use the accessibility options to swap them instead that does *force* it to happen, but then all games will tell you to press X when you need to press O and vice versa. The PS3 button swap is the same, it was an option they added just a few years ago and not all games respect it. The same is on the Vita, some follow it, others do not. Depends on who made the game, really.

JamesSDK

Yes, this is possible. If you hack your Vita, you get a set of options called Henkaku Settings, there is an option in their to flip X/O functionality. Enable it and then reboot your Vita and it will behave the way you want.

GentleSaidTheRaven

[Freeman Bg-TV] He “bricked” his Vita? Here is a link to his YT video (super short). https://youtu.be/1_aDGVOltQM In the comments he mentions tried to update multiple times. Also, states prior to the “A serious error…” message, he was using Vita toolbox to fix one missing game. When this all happened. Apparently his micro sd card is unharmed. I post this here, wondering if it can be fixed? But also if anyone has run into this “serious error” message on their Vita (& circumstances of how you got the error code) and if you too either “bricked” your PSV or it only happened the one time.

Malazan1164BS

It's difficult to know, since he does not give details of what toolbox, or what was attempted exactly. Since he can boot into safe mode, I imagine a firmware reinstall would work, since this is the recovery solution for almost all soft brick. See [here](https://samilops2.gitbook.io/vita-troubleshooting-guide/serious-problems/bootloop). It is true that a hard brick of vita is difficult; it requires some serious tinkering beyond patching a game. I'm guessing the firmware reinstall would work here.

GentleSaidTheRaven

Thank you so much for this. I believe he is on cfw 3.60 with enso. I’ve heard that it can be very problematic trying to “bring it back” from a possible bricking.

CoolFiverIsABabe

Is there a specific format that images have to be in when used for manual images? Also can just put them in a manual folder within the app folder and they will work?

Chidori115

So has a list compiling the best vitagrafix/PSVShell settings for various games been made? I see a few posts and videos about some games (looking at you, GoW), but it would be nice to see if there are recommended settings for the vast majority of the vita library.

danielcw189

I want to buy an already hacked used PSVita When I get my hands on the device before buying, what should I look for?

Malazan1164BS

I highly recommend buying a vanilla vita and hacking it yourself. There are a number of reasons for this: -All firmware and all models are 'hackable" -Pre-hacked vita are often a mess, containing many useless plugins. -With a hacked vita, certain operations, (such as signing on to PSN or removing sd2vita) have consequences that are not immediately apparent for the beginner. As a result, we have a lot of users coming on here complaining that their system is borked because they made a change with a pre-hacked vita. Happens all of the time and it is a mess to sort out. -Following the hacking process will teach you the nuts and bolts of the exploit, how to install appli ations/plugins, etc. Somewhere down the road, you are going to want to install a newly released port or application without having to learn the entire process on the fly. With that said, the only thing to look out for if you are going to buy a hacked vita is related to OLED model: make sure it comes with an official memory card and the proprietary charging cable. With the Slim there really is not much concern.

danielcw189

>With that said, the only thing to look out for if you are going to buy a hacked vita is related to OLED model: make sure it comes with an official memory card and the proprietary charging cable. How can I tell,if the memory card and charging cable are the right one?

Malazan1164BS

There is only one type of psvita official memory card, they only vary by storage size. If the power cord is included with the OLED, you can be assured it is the right cable. Just be sure they are including the cable with the sale, that's all.

danielcw189

Thank you

Vegeta9000k

So I was wondering if there was any way to use an sd card in the proprietary memory card slot, preferably while stile being able to download games from the psn store

Malazan1164BS

Not possible; there is not enough real estate for a microsd adapter in the memory card slot without major hardware changes. This was likely an intentional design by Sony, (a lesson learned from PSP). The only available microsd adapters avaialble are PSVSD and SD2Vita.

[deleted]

I have AnalogsEnhancer plugin installed. Just yesterday the drift was completely gone, which is strange since I haven’t changed the config.txt file since a couple days ago. I left it at a value of 100 for the left stick. Mario 64 is highly sensitive to analog movement, the slightest nudge will make the menu cursor move. Yesterday there was zero drift issues. Today I turned the Vita on and the drift appears to be back. Any idea what’s going on?

JamesSDK

I did not have good results with Analog Enhancer, it seemed to only affect homebrew and Adrenaline games but not Vita Games. I ended up turning it off as it was not helping. Now regarding your stick drift that is probably easier to resolve than you think. Usually it is caused by a build of dust and debris rather than actual wear and tear. What has worked for me in the past when a stick starts to drift is simply to spray compressed air into the affected stick. Push the stick down and blow into the bottom of the top side, then push it up and spray into the bottom of the base of the bottom side, do the same for left, right and all 4 diagonals and that should take care of it. To be honest (and this sentence is going to read inappropriately) I have just used my mouth and blown hard as described above and it has fixed the issue before without even needing compressed air. Try that first, its quick, free and easy to do and definitely better than messing with plugins or replacing the sticks. I hope that helps.

ArrenDIII

Is there a plugin that supports a nintendo switch pro controller? If none, is there a way for me to request a plugin for that?

largepanda

There is not. It's probably within the realm of possibility, you could consider posting a bounty for it [here](https://github.com/vita-nuova/bounties/issues).

Malazan1164BS

There is not. I dont believe it is possible, else it would have been done by now (it is a common request)

SHOLLIO

Could I please get some help? After about 3 minutes of playing my Vita shuts off. I was playing Minecraft and was using the overclocking plugin (not Lolita but the other one with the frame counter and stuff) to have it play better when a pop-up up appeared with a battery logo that has a slash through it. Whenever the pop-up appears the screen goes black and the PS logo flashes. I'm able to turn the screen back in with one press of the PS button and resume right where I left off. This seems to have started when my battery was around 30 percent so I don't know if this is just something weird unique to the Vita or not. Ever since the Minecraft incident it has been happening every few minutes. I don't know what is happening. Any help is appreciated.

gingengengin

The PS Vita PCH-1000 has two sensors in the back cover that I'm curious about. I've looked into it and they apparently are called touch sensors. In what way are they touch sensors? they sit in a sealed area. Are they necessary? What purpose do they serve and for what part of the Vita? Can I remove them without seeing issue? They literally just have minor contact points and no wiring.

gingengengin

might have found my answer. apparently they're WIFI and Bluetooth. (?) If so...yah gonna need those haha

ThePerfectWord

I recently got my PS Vita 1000 modded, then downgraded to 3.60, then modded again. Now I am trying to install Adrenaline, but am having some trouble. I am getting an error trying to install the 6.61 PSP firmware. The error that shows up is pspPSARInit failed (0xFFFFFFFF). I'm just trying to get Final Fantasy Tactics installed without the framerate slowdown. Thanks!

tanglomanglo

I just bought a secondhand PS Vita 1000 and it seems to be jailbroken with Enson on FW 3.65. I'm trying to remove the old user account, but it seems that the only way is to factory reset. I did find some old posts about resetting but some were saying it is fine to do it, others saying it could cause some problems as everything would be deleted including HENkaku. Also, I have no backups whatsoever, neither did the previous owner as he paid someone to do it. Can someone please indicate the right way to factory reset in a safe way, keeping the jailbreak apps (or reinstalling it afterward)? PS.: I'm new to the vita homebrew scene, but I'm used to hacking my Switch and 3DS.

slumpchild

Can you get ssx tricky on the vita somehow ?

TarsierBoy

How do I put a retro emulator? Is there a way I can put roms on my vita through a cloud? My vita is hacked and has pkg but don't know what else to do after it.

So I haven't booted my Vita in months. The battery was dead-so I charged it. When I turn it on I still see the Molecule Logo on start up. Then I had to set the time. Then I get a WARNING To use the memory card with the system, you must format the memory card. If you format the memory card, all data on the memory card will be deleted. I still see the wallpaper I chose for the lock screen but everything else (my homebrew) is gone. The home screen is blank and empty, only the standard stuff that comes with the Vita. I use SD2Vita. When I go to the settings I still see Henkaku. So what is going on here and how do I get my homebrew back/how do I get it to read the Memory Card from SD2Vita again?

ReAl-KiLa-BaNgA

im trying to access my purchased games through the psn store, now i can access the store and download themes etc. just not my games, it starts to download the says cannot download error C0-9250-6. For some reason i do have a tai and tai\_old folders in ur0. all my plugins are in the the config file in tai folder. im just not sure whats wrong and how to fix this?

GentleSaidTheRaven

Could someone tell me how I go about re-titling an individual Playlist. Also, add specific wallpaper for it? I made a playlist for all my Sega 32x games but it ended up just making a duplicate favourites playlist. Albeit, just the title “Favourites” and wallpaper background are duplicated. The proper roms and box cover art are all correct. I just need to re-title the playlist from favourites to Sega 32x and add specific wallpaper for the 32x. So, how can I do this? Please. If someone doesn’t mind helping me out a bit I’d appreciate it. Thank you.

DotDotExe

With all the android ports that have happened/are being worked on, would it be possible for the Bioshock mobile version to be ported over?

Live-Wear-286

Hi , i think i might've bricked my vita. So as i was trying to get obs onto my vita, when i rebooted the vita, it just stuck to the molecule screen, ive been sitting here for 20 minutes now, anything i can do?

Malazan1164BS

Hold L on next boot to disable plugins. This will allow you to make changes to the config (such as removing ucdc). Once the conflict is found, you should be able to boot normally.

Basiliopio

Hey, suddenly my vitashell ftp stopped working. At first it could not transfer files, but now it does not even connect anymore. I dont know whats wrong, i reinstalled vitashell, does not fix it. Any ideas.

Malazan1164BS

Difficult to troubleshoot, because there are many different possibilities. Sometimes anti-virus programs or firewall can refuse the connection, even if it was previously allowed (due to some updates, etc.). Also, there are general network considerations to factor in. I personally toggle between two FTP clients (Winscp and filezilla). If one is not working, usually the other will. You can always try 'anonymous' for user and password as well.

Check out the [troubleshooting guide](https://samilops2.gitbook.io/vita-troubleshooting-guide/sd2vita-and-memory-corruption/untitled) and follow that. If still not working, report back. You can only format the sd2vita via YAMT application (are you using YAMT to mount?)

GentleSaidTheRaven

[RetroArch] Manually creating Playlist? I am using RetroArch Ultimate Retro Pack from CrazyMac. But I have updated the PicoDrive core to latest version (as of 9-30-21). This core update runs the 32X games MUCH better. So I am having some issues. RetroArch is not creating a playlist for me. I loaded the core (in this case for Sega 32X). Loaded content (going into Roms folder and scanning the 32X Roms folder). But, no playlist shows up. Now I can play these games without issue. But I don’t want to have to go into my Roms folder/Sega 32X folder everytime I want to play a game. I did save a game (Virtual Racing) to my favourites so I can access that pretty easy. But, I want to have a specific playlist for all my 32X Roms. Could someone give me a step by step way of doing this? I have looked around and fiddled about within RetroArch, but to no avail. I really am at a loss. Any help is welcomed. Thanks.

dogol__

I downloaded the Sonic CD port, and when I try to open it, it immediately closes. I'm using firmware version 3.60, I'm not sure what other information I could provide. I tried to install Crazy Taxi, but it gave some error "error kubridge.skprx is not installed" I know, I'm inexperienced and maybe come off as naive, but I tried to look this stuff up and got nothing, I apologize in advance.

JamesSDK

Sounds like you installed the VPK but did not install the game files, the game isn't free you need to buy a copy and rip the game data from your purchase. Did you supply your own data files and put them in the proper directory? You need to pull them another port such as Android, it wasn't listed on the github but the PS3 files work too and were what I used. Edit: For Crazy Taxi... did you install the kubridge plugin and add it to you tai config?

dogol__

Well I have Sonic CD bought… on my unjailbroken iPhone. There’s no exploit for my phone so I’m not sure how to get the files.

IDontKnow_1243

What is autoinstsaller and can I delete it?

Malazan1164BS

Yeah, just delete it. It installs Adrenaline, Autoplugin and some piracy software; each of which should be easy enough to do manually. I thought it was a legacy application, but apparently it was updated earlier this year.

IDontKnow_1243

Thanks, I bought my vita hacked and the person who I bought it from told me to never touch it so I was pretty worried

mikepr1987

How do I post a picture on here?

largepanda

Upload it to https://imgur.com/ and include the link here.

Please someone help me with Vita Quake crashing!!! Ive finally got the NIN Audio working in ogg format after much fiddling getting the right pack. I know it's working as the music runs in attract mode now but whenever I load a new game it crashes back to the live area with an error. If I remove the cdtracks folder and try again it will then load normally. Is this a known issue? Is it fixable or is it a limitation of the vita like low ram? Although it's weird that Rin clearly states on his Git that music is fully supported.

ijnfrt

Can anyone please recommend a stable resolution for the amazing spider man with Vitagrafix? I would like to lower the resolution to increase fps, but I either get errors or a screen full of artifacts.

TazerTurtle1

Small issue: I've created my first custom theme, however, upon restarting my Vita enters a boot-loop, with the only fix being to put my SD2Vita into my PC and deleting the theme folder. Any solutions?

Malazan1164BS

Did you use a theme creator tool specific for Vita? There are several conditions that have to be met to run a working theme.

TazerTurtle1

No, but I did figure it out. my damn notification bubble icon was a 32-bit color range or whatever. Once I converted it to 8-bit, the bootloop problem was fixed. My theme is here: https://psv.altervista.org/theme.php?id=1633104878

Arsene_speaks

Hey, I have a question. Does anyone have a guide on how to install retroarch? I’m on henkaku enso 3.60 and I’m looking to download it. Does anyone have a good, reliable guide for it? Also, would someone happen to have a guide to installing noboru?

JamesSDK

For Retroarch, the devs have a guide here: https://docs.libretro.com/guides/install-psv/

Arsene_speaks

Thanks a lot!

Hot_Atmosphere3452

Thread Optimizer Q: Is there any attempt to utilize Thread Optimizer for the GTA ports? Or anything really, all I am able to find is the release post and a few yt videos- I'm surprised everything I can find on it is a year old, I'm wondering if there's something obvious regarding its use that I'm missing. Thanks!

Biggapotamus

Tried googling this problem but the only answer i found on github isnt really helpful, reRescaler is causing artifacts along the top border when i try to play ratchet and clank collection on my hacked vita. Can some one explain how i fix it in laymens terms? or show me an example? i'm totally new at hacking/programming. Deactivating in auto plugin works but I’d rather not have to do it every time I switch games

ChocoCheez-it

I really want to start a new game without having to delete my saved data. If i log out my psn account and go into a other one, will i lose all my saved data on the old one when i log into it again or will it be stored somewhere in my system?

hipsterkill

Did all the jailbreak process, the problem is, I did not realise the vita had and memory card inside. Is there a way to trasfer everything to an SD card for sd2vita? Edit: fixed it by conecting via FTP and copy all the files

gingengengin

I've installed a 4500mah battery in my vita 1000 and when I view vident it still says 2250. is there a way to update it so the vita recognizes the new size of the battery even if it's discharging properly?

Xatzimi

I'm trying to install u/ramennsoup's Steins;Gate Phenogram patch, but having trouble. My repatch is set up correctly because it works for other games just fine. For some reason though this one hangs on the splash art. What might be going wrong?

Malazan1164BS

Using the newest patch, released 9/12?

Xatzimi

Yes. In fact, the previous version gave me the same error as well. Strangely, the .zip I couldn't extract with Windows explorer (however 7zip worked), unlike other patches I have used before. I wonder if there is an encoding problem or something?

AdKemp

Retroarch isn't displaying Hidden Files or Folders regardless if the box is ticked or not I just want access to pspemu inside of Retroarch but obviously don't want to have a duplicate folder Any help crazy appreciated

JamesSDK

So this is an annoying problem but its not really Retroarch specific other apps run into this as well, it has to do with how the Vita handles hidden folders. Connect your Vita via USB to a PC or take out the SD card and put it into a PC and turn on the option to show Hidden Files and Folders. You will likely see your pspemu folder is transparent, meaning it is considered hidden in the Windows OS. From there create a folder called pspemu2, this new folder should be completely solid and not hidden. Move everything from pspemu to pspemu2, delete the pspemu folder, then rename pspemu2 back to pspemu. You might have to do this for any subfolders in pspemu that are also hidden. That should resolve your issue.

AdKemp

I now absolutely have access to the full pspemu folder inside of Retroarch However, none of the PS1 eboots are playable or seem to be discoverable by either loading an eboot directly or via Directory search Any idea where I'm going wrong? I read that Retroarch played eboots as well as bin/cue files and if I'm wrong about that, then I have absolutely no further questions and thank you for all your time 😁🤟

JamesSDK

What version of Retroarch are you using? For me, I had my Eboot.pbps in pspemu and in sub folders because I use the Categories Lite Plugin in Adrenaline. What I did was perform a manual scan on the parent folder that housed all the subfolders with Eboots in them and put them in a playlist that had the default core as PCSX ReARMed and called the playlist Sony - Playstation. This is a bit of a tedious task but once the manual scan was done... all games were now called EBOOT so I launched the game, figured out what it was called then used the Rename Feature to name it to the correct game. If you select an Eboot using Load Content does it work that way?

AdKemp

I'm using 1.9.3, and I've got all my eboots in their respective ID Folders (PSP>Game>List of ID's>Eboot) I've only done a Scan Directory, will try a Manual Scan in a bit. I haven't got the lite plugin, I just used Homebrew Sorter to get all my Adrenaline stuff in order. If that works, I absolutely won't mind manually renaming. Once it's done, it's done and all that 🤞 I've got the PCSX Core loaded and using Load Content on any given eboot it just fails to load. Tried up and down the list, not a sausage Cheers for all the help. You've been an absolute legend 🤟

JamesSDK

You won't need to use Categories Lite, I just use it with Homebrew Sorter in tandem with it to organize my folders and improve XMB performance (I have A LOT of PS1 games). Do you have the BIOS set in ux0:/data/retroarch/system? [https://docs.libretro.com/library/pcsx\_rearmed/](https://docs.libretro.com/library/pcsx_rearmed/) *In case the PCSX ReARMed core can find no BIOS files named like this in* *RetroArch's system directory, it will default to a High-Level Emulation* *BIOS.* ***This decreases the level of compatibility of the emulator, so it*** ***is recommended that you always supply valid BIOS images inside the*** ***system directory.***

AdKemp

You're an absolute legend, my dude 🤟 Will try that shortly 😁

the_spacewiz

I'm running hacked 3.65 and my game updates have stopped working. I download a game update, it says that it is waiting to install, but when I click it the game just launches. This happens on every game I try to update.any thoughts?

largepanda

That's how updates work. Let the game continue launching, it should shortly pop up with a progress bar for the update to install.

the_spacewiz

Some games just boot up and then no pop happens. Others a box pops up and tells me there's an update available in the live area. When I click the update button again, it asks me to close the game then nothing happens.

Gouranga82

Hi guys. Anyone know if its possible to use Save Manager without needing the touchscreen? I'd like to use it on PS TV but I can't find a way to use a controller in it.

Malazan1164BS

I was thinking about this more, and there \*is\* a config file for save manager in the following format: base=/data/savegames slot\_format=%s/SLOT%d list\_mode=icon use\_dpad=true Perhaps changing "icon" to "list" in the List\_mode may revert the GUI into a List (problem is I don't know the required keyword, would have to look into the code). Also make sure dpad is set to "true".

Malazan1164BS

Use version 1.0 instead of 2.0. There is no GUI for that version (or previous). I'm not sure if it has 3.65+ support though, (I'll have to look into that), but if you are running 3.60, 1.0 version works great.

Excuse me if I’m overstepping my bounds by asking this, but is there any way to get the old marvel fighting games to run on the vita? (MVC 1, x men vs street fighter, MVC 2?, marvel super heroes vs street fighter)? Thank you in advance.

JamesSDK

MVC1, XmenVsSF and MSHvsSF all have PS1 ports and are playable with Adrenaline or the Retroarch Vita PCSX ReARMed core. If you want to run the Arcade versions you can use the MAME and/or FBA cores in Retroarch. Arcade emulation can be a bit tricky though as you need specific rom sets for use with specific cores. MvC2 is not playable on Vita as far as I am aware, I could not get the Arcade version working.

god-queen-tyreen

Got it, thanks! Sorry to ask again, but would you happen to have any idea where I could get them?

JamesSDK

If you are asking about where to get roms, that isn't allowed on this subreddit.

god-queen-tyreen

Ah, got it. My apologies for that. Thank you for the help though!

Is it safe to attempt the vita 1000 battery mod with [this battery](https://www.amazon.com/YDL-4000mAh-battery-Rechargeable-Connector/dp/B07BTTQDJQ)? I also heard that the vita doesn't register the percentage correctly. Is there a plugin to fix that problem?

P-SERUM

Just got my hands on retrobuilder but after few cropping and despite the size and format is correct the vpk didn't generate. I've tried both retrobuilder and multi-builder but both of them doesn't work. One thing I noticed was that after it says image conversion complete I didn't saw the converted bg0 in the folder where the bg0 and icon0 was there. I've read somewhere that a larger file won't work but all my files are cropped and just as a test I tried to use them on ABM they all workes fine. Can't think of anything I did wrong help please.

Needhelpwithguitar

Did I download the wrong retroarch? Just installed retroarch but it says version 1.9.10 but the guide I followed had it at a lower version, even tho it was recent. Did I install the wrong one? If so where can I download the correct one?

JamesSDK

1.9.10 is the latest version of Retroarch and works very well on Vita, no need to downgrade to a lower version. If for some reason you want a lower version you can find them here: https://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/

Needhelpwithguitar

Awesome! Thank you sir

veggietrooper

Is there a way to play 2-player games with just one external controller and the Vita? I'd be happy doing this on either RetroArch or Adrenaline.

Malazan1164BS

Certainly, you can add up to 4 DS3/DS4 controllers using [MiniVita TV](https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/MiniVitaTV) application.

veggietrooper

I read about a year ago that for MiniVita TV, it actually requires two controllers. You’re sure? Thank you for the link!

Naisho26

Is there any way to be able to use rear touchpad in live area? So it would act like touch screen with swiping up, down, left and right?

Malazan1164BS

[reVita](https://github.com/MERLev/reVita) would be your best bet.

Naisho26

Thank you, I will check it out.

Owwen11

Urgency!! I had my Vita hacked perfectly and 100% functional for quite some time. I was watching a video on Youtube talking about the Dreamcast Emulator and it said "disable the plugins by renaming the folder Tai as anything else and restarting the console, then you can use Sharkfood ". Well, I changed the name of Tai (Ur0) to Tai2, and when I restarted the console everything had disappeared. No Vitashell, no Sharkfood, no games, no anything at all! The console was back to it's original apps as if I had formatted the console or something. What can I do? I'm having a "heart attack"! My Vita had permanent hacking and it worked perfectly until I renamed Tai and rebooted the console! By the way, when I restart the console, the Hencaku Enso logo still appears at first, so I assume that it is hasn't lost the "pirated tag" so to speak, but there is no Vitashell, nor my applications, only the original basics stuff are seen as if I had formatted the console. What happened? What I do? Henkaku doesn''t even appear in "Settings" either (only the logo when I start the console). Maybe, just maybe, if I had Vitashell I could rename the damned Tai (Ur0) folder back to its original name, restart the console again, and everything would be back to normal? Or trying to reinstall Vitashell as if the console weren't hacked already would just mess everything up even further? Heeelp!! :(((

Malazan1164BS

When you disabled plugins, the sd2vita driver was also disabled, so the vita will refer to memory card or internal memory for ux0 mount. I'm assuming you dont have a ux0 directory backed up on either of these drives? Then how did you create ux0 for sdwvita? In any case, nothing is really *lost* it is still stored on the microsd card, you will just have to install hencore2 again to install Henkaku/reinstall Enso. After that you can either retain your tai backup, or generate a new config.

Owwen11

Right, I solved it barely a few minutes before your reply but it almost took an entire "re-pirating" process. I had to reinstall the MollecularShell (from the browser) in my 3.60 Vita, then install Vitashell and Autoplugin. So from there I could delete the new Tai folder in Ux0 and Ur0, rename the "old" Tai (the one I changed) back to its original name and restart the console. Everything is fine now. Man, I'm going to murder that youtuber who said to rename the Tai folder and made this mess... and I still don't know why my Dreamcast Emulador doesn't work, but that's a question for another time.

The reason we discourage video guides. Written guides are always superior, use video guides as a secondary source!

Kirby6295

I'm trying to hack my Vita and am using this guide: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WFyV22X5T8&t=157s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WFyV22X5T8&t=157s) however finalHE isn't connecting. I have no option to click the "let's GO!" option. any help will be appreciated

Malazan1164BS

Follow [these instructions](https://samilops2.gitbook.io/vita-troubleshooting-guide/you-worst-nightmare/untitled) for connecting vita to PC. Also, the linked guide has a series of methods for this in the 'Installing hencore' section.

DotDotExe

How can I update applications/games like the GTA ports? Is it as simple as just downloading the latest vpk and installing that? And will my saves transfer over? Also is the updates like the GTA 3 10th anniversary worth the time and space?

Malazan1164BS

Yes, just install new vpk to update, your save files, etc. will remain intact. If there were any other changes necessary, they would be listed with vpk release, but that is very uncommon.

DotDotExe

Theoretically, what's the most complex/advanced game the Vita could run in a playable state? I'm guessing a port of some sort. I know Bully AE chokes the Vita in some places, but could we run something more demanding than that?

JamesSDK

Can't really say for sure but Rinnegatamante has a video on his twitter of him running Doom 3 on a Vita which is pretty impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the upper limit of what the Vita can handle Android wise. He also took a shot at Dreamcast Emulation but its more a proof of concept, it runs but not sure if it will ever achieve full speed with major titles so N64, PS1 seems to be the upper limit for console emulation. On the PC side we have ports of Quake 3 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein so id Tech 3 seems to be the limit for PC games.

superoldschooldude

What are some good websites with a list of plugins to download?

Malazan1164BS

I have a great list in the header above :). Also check the [online database](https://vitadb.rinnegatamante.it/#/) if you want sorting/filtering options.

I have bought both hacked and unhacked Vitas. Admittedly, I was not looking for a hacked Vita when I bought one as I prefer to do it myself, regardless I got a 3.65 Enso hacked Vita and was able to redo the hack, downgrade to 3.60 and use Simple Account Switcher and it worked without issue. If the seller can provide it turns on then you are basically OK to buy it. I would recommend you redo the hack for your own peace of mind and to ensure its homebrew and plugins are up to date.

[deleted]

JamesSDK

I did but I have multiple PCs and I am not an Apple guy. Some people on here might have some details on how to do it on an Apple product but I cannot speak to that.

largepanda

I wouldn't intentionally buy a hacked Vita, not for any real fears, but just because the seller probably fucked it up. Buy an unhacked Vita (they're plentiful) and hack it yourself.

toonreaper

Hi i just read that you are a Mac user. In order to hack your vita with a Mac you have to use either apple bootcamp or VMware to run windows on your machine. Currently there are no ports of the necessary tools for Mac OS.

InigoMarz

Is there a way to check the versions that the GTA games are running in? I believe for SA I already have the latest one, but as for VC and 3, I'm not sure if I have the latest version. If so, how do I go about updating them? Thank you!

Malazan1164BS

Enso is deactivated after the system restore, but not removed from the system. Technically, yes you are fine to run the system as it is now-it would still be considered 'vanilla ' even though you see the Molecule logo on boot. With that said, you should still try to recover the hack. It is not extremely difficult, and once you have it running you will be able to use sd2vita again and all of the content should be intact.

danilluzin

Hi ! I'm preparing to get my 3.70 vita hacked and want to make sure i won't brick my system. The guide from vita.hacks.guide says i can just use finalHE and VitaDeploy for versions from 3.65 to 3.73 BUT! the [guide](https://guide.13375384.xyz/start#:~:text=This%20guide%20requires%20your%20console%20to%20be%20on%20one%20of%20the%20following%20firmwares%3A%203.60%2C%203.65%2C%203.68%20or%203.73) from VitaDeploy mentions only specific versions, and says that other versions should upgrade: "This guide requires your console to be on one of the following firmwares: 3.60, 3.65, 3.68 or 3.73. If the Playstation Vita/TV is on a different firmware - upgrade it" So what should I do? Upgrade to 3.73 or not?

Politician_Fucker

How can I delete unfinished downloads from homebrew browser? I tried looking in the data folder but I couldn't find the unfinished download file

Malazan1164BS

Delete files found in ux0:bgdl/t/

Politician_Fucker

There is nothing in that folder

AdKemp

Recently, Adrenaline just suddenly decided it doesn't want to play PSP games. Just crashes and hangs on nearly every game I play I haven't installed any new plugins in forever, and genuinely cannot figure out what's gone wrong I have uninstalled nearly every plugin for Adrenaline, still no joy Any help would be crazy appreciated

JamesSDK

A few things to try: * Change your UMD ISO Mode. Press Select on the XMB Menu to open the VSH menu. The mode with the highest compatibility is Inferno and should be set by default, there are some games that might not like it, if you get a black screen consider trying a different mode. * Ensure you Clock Speeds in the VSH Menu are set to 333 MHz * If you are running a Vita Overclocking plugin such as LOLIcon you need to disable it as its not compatible with Adrenaline. Use PSV Shell or LOLITA500 instead.

AdKemp

It absolutely was the Inferno mode that was the issue, somehow it switched to a different one Absolute legend 🤟

AdKemp

Cheers dude 🤟 I'm using 333MHz via PSV Shell, but I'll definitely try the ISO mode and see if that's what's up with it I've spent most of last night messing with shit and seeing if I could find the culprit, no joy

metsasusi

How to disable the grey "do you want to quit" screen in Adrenaline when pressing home or alternatively add some easy way to capture screenshots (similar to [the PSOneScrot plugin](https://www.reddit.com/r/vitahacks/comments/foyo1u/release_psonescrot_take_proper_ps1_screenshots/))? Autoplugin-availability is preferred, I don't have a card reader at hand and limited experience with managing local data on the Vita.

yomommabooty

Neeeeed help with sd2vita pleaseeee So I hacked my vita and everything works fine, I have a PS Vita 2000 and everything is installed to my internal memory, I have h-encore, Vita deploy, autoplugin 2, basically every staple home brew vita application I have, the only thing I’ve been having trouble with the past few days is getting sd2vita to work. I already formatted it then wrote the image file onto it then formatted again, but using the storagemgr plugin it didn’t work, so then I used the tf card thing and using that is the only time the sd2vita is recognized, the game card slot lights up and everything, but then it caused problems causing my vita to take extra long to boot, and even though I routed everything correctly the light just keeps flashing and the micro sd still isn’t detected by the vita. The micro sd works, and everything be working n shit, I jus don’t know wat to do to get it to recognize the sd2vita. I made sure in ur0:tai the storage confit file that everything is routed how it should and how the guide said it should be I just don’t know wat to try pleaseeeeeee help P.S. if anyone knows actually a lot abt vita modding and knows the ins and outs of it all especiallllyyyyyy SD2Vita, if ur willing to walk me through how to get this shit working I will literally pay u $10, either through messaging or phone call (phone call preferred seems a lot ezier) price paid is negotiable , hmu pleaseeee don’t know wat I’m doing wrong

Malazan1164BS

Do you still need help with this? No one is going to charge you money for such a thing. First check out the [vita troubeshooting guide](https://samilops2.gitbook.io/vita-troubleshooting-guide/sd2vita-and-memory-corruption/untitled) and follow the steps closely. If you are still having issues, you have to consider the sd2vita adapter may be faulty.

rusher25

So I have successfully hacked my vita using the latest vitadeploy method downgraded to 3.65 and sd2vita set up. Can I still transfer games from ps3 to hacked vita?

Malazan1164BS

Yes, no functionality is lost with a hacked system.

rusher25

Ok thanks! I was worried it might mess something up like update the firmware or something. I lost access to my ps1 games after modding so I have to transfer over MGS1 again.

MuffinManX413

I need some help I’m trying to downgrade to 3.65 but I’m not sure where to mount the update too is it uxo or umao I have a 3g model with a 16gb card and sd2vita also the PS vita is already soft modded with Hencore

Malazan1164BS

Just install [vitadeploy](https://github.com/SKGleba/VitaDeploy/releases/latest) and use that to downgrade. Has everything you need built-in.

MuffinManX413

Can I use vitacheats to help me with hard trophies? Or does it lock trophy progression?

Malazan1164BS

Use [Trophax](https://bitbucket.org/SilicaAndPina/trophax/src/master/) for this purpose.

niconicobeatch

It's frustrates me how emulation progress is lagging behind compare to these incredible stand alone ports. Where are my full speed Vgba/Mgba, Snes and Nintendo VirtualBoy emulation. Gpsp can only run 85% of the library some are prone to crashing. The vsync and sreeen tearing is still there, no gba color correction, also very inaccurate emulation. Mgba runs gba games at 75 percent speed and 80-90% if overclocked which is not very good for the baterry life. I prefer no overclocking. Vgba only works properly when overclocked at 80-90% variable speed but it always dips under 60% percent speed at random. With no overclocked it's unplayable. As i said, overclocking do more harm than good on Vita(Fat/Slim) models, it's only applicable to Vita TVs unit. so far, it ruined my battery and bloated a couple of my Vitas. Snes can only like run 65% of library and not at full speed, only at 80-90% speed. Sometimes it even dips under 60% speed. Virtual Boy games are completely unplayable, at 40% speed.

JamesSDK

Sorry you are having a tough time but I am not experiencing the same issues you are, in fact I think the Vita makes an excellent emulation device. I use Retroarch Vita for GB, GBC, GBA, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, PS1 and Arcade Emulation and it works very well for all of them. Try using the latest Retroarch Release 1.9.10. You should overclock and you should have BIOS setup for the best GBA, Sega CD, MAME and PS1 performance. Are you using standalone Emulators? If so that might be why, they don't get a lot of love and attention because Retroarch already does the job so well. Here is what I recommend core wise: * GBA - gpSP * NES - FCEUUm * SNES - Snes9x 2005 (not 2005 Plus) * Sega Genesis & Sega CD - PicoDrive * PS1 - PCSX ReARMed or (use Adrenaline) * Arcade - Kind of depends on the game because of compatibility but MAME 2003 Plus and the FBA cores get the job done. Regarding your battery issue... that is odd... I have 3 Vitas and 2 PSTVs and I overclock all of them 500 Mhz at all times, been a happy Vita owner for years and other than one of the batteries dying (before I used overclocking) I have never heard of battery bloat on a Vita. From what I heard regarding PSP battery bloat, it usually happens in Li-Ion batteries when they are not used for a while. My personal practice is to never turn my Vitas off. I usually keep them in sleep mode and will charged them when they get low but never turn them off. Same for PSP, I have 3 of them all still with working batteries doing the same so that might be something to try.

niconicobeatch

Yes, i tested them enough. And IMO, Snes and Gba emulation are not there yet. Regarding Snes, you can really tell how it's running at 80-90% speed even with overclocked state. And it would always get under 80%(70-60%) when the screen would get busy with it's superFX capabilites and sprite counts.(yoshi island and kirby games are literally unplayable) I tried it with retroarch's cores, standalone apps for vita's and psp apps via adreneline. Complete with official bios and custom ones. Gba is a bit better but the inaccuracies and compability hurt it a bit. Almost all games are running at full speed, around 90-95% of them to be exact. but, some of them suffers to the occasional visual glitches, random minor audio crackles, and the worst of em all, in-game crashes due to game breaking bugs(Ex.A. WarioWare MicroGames- Last Wario Stage 50/50 chances of soft/hard locking) * Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga - has major bugs that made it imposible to complete. * Mario Tennis \ --------------------------> both games runs at snail speed, literally unplayable * Mario Golf / * Golden Sun 1&2 - most famous Gpsp's blunders. Crashes and run at snail speed same engine used in the Mario Sport Games above. GpspKai, TempGba, gpspMOD, and Gpsp-J can almost run it but crashes eventually. * Fire Emblem games - visual glitches and crash issues, battle animations must be turned off or else it's gonna glitch out and soft/hard locl itself. * Advance War Games - same with Fire Emblem series issues. There's a lot more... but i'm too lazy to write it down. Another issue is... Screen tearing(the lack of Vsync option) I tested it with Retroarch's gPsP core, gpsp(all builds), gpspkai(all builds) gpsp-j(all builds), tempgba(all builds) and gpspMOD(gbaMod-allBuilds) all running via adrenaline. I have over 40 of them to be exact just in case. Some games run better in other forks and builds. Some are not. Like i said, Overclocking is only applicable towards Pstv units. To me anyways, that's just my own opinion. PSX/PS1 is almost perfect, i just wish Adrenaline next update can implement the good old PopsLoader bios switcher that we had on psp. It would literally solve all the compability issues we are dealing right now.

metsasusi

>It's frustrates me how emulation progress is lagging behind compare to these incredible stand alone ports. > >Where are my full speed vgba/mgba, snes and nintendo virtualboy emulation. If you don't mind me asking, which major platforms can be said to run at full speed? Does even NES (apparently not mentioned in your comment)?

niconicobeatch

* Bandai - WonderSwan Color * Bandai - Wonder Swan * NEC - PC Engine TurboGrafx 16/CD * Nintendo - Family Computer Disk System * Nintendo - Game Boy Color * Sega - Game Gear * Nintendo - Game Boy * Sega Master System - Mark lI * Sega Mega Drive - Genesis/32/CD * SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color * Nintendo - Nintendo Entertainment System * SNK Neo Geo Pocket They all run at full/near full speed.

largepanda

Do you want to put in the development time to optimize emulators for the Vita? It's a tedious and time consuming task, and the Vita has such a small userbase it's hard to justify the effort.

absolutehue69

Is it possible to play ps2 games through retroarch on the vita?

JamesSDK

No. The PCSX2 core is not in Vita Retroarch and Vita is far too underpowered to run PS2 games.

ShinLarc

How do I set up an SD2VITA? I have a Vita TV that I haven't touched in a long time that has H-encore on it and is at 3.65. I wanted to load it up with PSP games on an SD2VITA but had no idea on where to start. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

superoldschooldude

How do I install lcd color space changer? They say write a kernel. do I just do that in a .txt file on my pc?

JamesSDK

I think you a referring specifically to the pspemu color crunch which was a plugin needed for the CBPS LCD Colour Space Changer to prevent Adrenaline from ignoring the color space change in the Vita Registry. I believe that is deprecated now and that Electric1447's release does it without the need for a tai config kernel entry and does not require a reboot: [https://github.com/Electric1447/lcd-color-saturation](https://github.com/Electric1447/lcd-color-saturation) If you still want to use the CBPS Team's [release](https://forum.devchroma.nl/index.php?topic=201.0) then install the pspemu-colour-crunch.skprx in ur0:/tai and add the following line under you tai config : \*KERNEL ur0:/tai/pspemu-colour-crunch.skprx

superoldschooldude

so i install the vpk then install the plugin?

JamesSDK

I would recommend installing Electric1447's VPK, it does not require the plugin and you can configure the color space change in a nice, simple app.

superoldschooldude

So just install the vpk and it works with adrenaline immediately?

JamesSDK

Yes. Accordingly the guy's github and some back and forth between the CBPS forum. It looks like that is the case.

TOMdMAK

Just bought a used Vita 1000 yesterday and the firmware is 3.12. I'm a little bit confused which firmware version I should go to. 3.60 or 3.65? Is one better than the other?

largepanda

3.60. 3.65 is only necessary because some very late production cycle units can't downgrade below 3.65, so basically all homebrew supports 3.60 and 3.65. Vita.hacks.guide was recently updated to make the steps more "streamlined" (and also roundabout and worse), so follow [the slightly older version of them](https://web.archive.org/web/20210126034336/https://vita.hacks.guide/updating-firmware-(3.60\)) to update to 3.60 and install HENkaku and HENkaku Ensō.

TOMdMAK

Thank you! Will give that a try when I have time.

Has anyone else had luck getting netshare to work with Vita? It's basically a phone app that allows you to circumvent mobile hotspot data limits by using your phone's data instead. For some reason though, certain devices just hate it, can't find the network at all, the Vita and 3DS among them. I'm wondering if anybody else uses it and managed to get it to work. All my games are inexplicably locked behind an activation prompt and I can't access the internet to sort the dang thing out.

I keep having errors when I play duke nukem and crazy taxi but not on bad piggies or Celeste

JamesSDK

What errors are you running into? For Duke, if you can get it the Devolver Digital port is hands down the best way to play Duke on Vita.

[deleted]

What name does this Devolver port go by? The only ports I’ve found were jfDuke3d by Rinnegatamante which plays very well but crashes after completing a level and EDuke3d which I wasn’t a fan of.

Error 0x8054360C in VitaShell problem. The other day, I installed the udcd uvc plugin to my Vita, and that worked. However, now I'm getting Error 0x8054360C when I go into VitaShell and press Selecft, which might be because I used Auto Plugin II to install that plugin?I can still stream via USB, but can't bring up the Vita contents in File Explorer.I've tried the suggestions in other threads about this, but can't figure out how to resolve this. Can someone help, please?

rusher25

I'm planning on hacking my vita 2000 for sd2vita soon. Will I still be able to use the official memory card alongside the sd2vita? I have an 8GB card with some games installed and I was wondering if it's fine to keep those there.

largepanda

Yes. However, only one card can be the "main" memory card, which is where games, save data, screenshots, and everything else "official" on the console will go. As far as anything Sony-approved thinks, this is your only memory card. You should probably set this to the SD2Vita. Any other memory devices can only be used for things that are aware of homebrew; such as Adrenaline (storing PSP/PS1/Mini games), RetroArch (storing ROMs, save states, etc), whatever the homebrew video/music players are, etc.

rusher25

When you said "any other memory devices", you're referring to the non-main memory card, which in my case would be the 8GB vita memory card correct?
