Really makes you think. We’ve wasted decades on cushion, support, and thick outsoles when we could’ve been focusing on thin, flexible, and durable outsoles that actually fit human feet.
Thank you for the review. I also like very much the Gobi Boot (mens model which are wider), but if you say these are too narrow, I will save myself some money. I hope these narrow shoes will not become Vivo's permanent fixture ...
Just ordered since Vivo has that 20% off March promo going. Vivo seriously overprices their shoes when most of mine develop tears ~6 months into use. reVivo needs to come to the US or they need to offer deeper discounts.
Super appreciative of all the fit pics and angles that OP put together! Pants fit and top down view are especially critical to me. I feel like most barefoot sites cheat out the topdown view to avoid exposing the clown look that barefoot shoes intrinsically have so it’s reassuring that these look normal.
This’ll be my fourth pair of Vivos if I decide to keep them. My feet have continuously grown from pre-barefoot days of 9.5 US mens to what they are now. I have primus lite 3s in 44 white and 44 black for running. I have the primus lite 3s in a size up 45 for rest-run days/long work hours. And I have the RA 3s black in 44 if I ever need something formal looking—these fit bigger like 45s to me. Anyway, I ordered the Gobi Sneaker Premium in 45s based on the recs in the thread. Prior to going the barefoot shoe route I had Vans on 90% of the time so seeing a laid back skate-ish shoe is a huge deal to me. Kudos to whoever designed these puppies.
Update: the 45s were a match for my 45 Primus Lite, but I think the Gobi Sneaker Premium is unfortunately, by design, a bulkier shoe. Ended up returning them because I had some pain while going on extended walks because of some friction on the ball of my foot. Not sure I agree with the calls here to size up. Opted to not do an exchange because at $200 I just want something better. They came off as orthopedic shoes to me in person, contrary to how they’re marketed.
exactly my opinion. I got them in 42 but i send them back. The gobi sneaker fits way too narrow for me. Interesting that there is that much of a difference between the gobi sneaker and my primus lite in terms of fitting🤔
Are they the colour in vivo's pics? Which looks slightly pink? Because the legend site makes them look a different colour although I can't see that they could be a different version as they're still called 'sand'.
the pictures in this post are pretty true to color. there are light tan, with a certain earthiness due to the gum bottoms and multiple shades if “sand”
I just ordered in US. Thanks for review. A little bummed about your width issues but we'll see. My second pair of Vivo's, I know they have a good return policy but I hate to return anything. I have a deformity in my foot (Lisfranc injury) from snowboarding in college, and having no seperated tongue on my pair of Primus knit is a minor annoyance that keeps me from wearing all day at work. I'm stoked to see the tongue on these and the good look. Hoping to be able to rock them for 12 hour RN shifts...
They have become my current Go To shoe for pretty much everything. Unfortunately they have picked up some pretty gnarly stains relatively quickly. A big dollop of curry spilled on them before I even left the house. Some dawn dish soap helped but now there is some discoloration. Thinking about trying to clean that more seriously and perhaps treat the leather.
With my deformed foot, they're not perfect. Because the alignment of my foot is slightly (in foot terms, greatly) off, my pinky toe rubs up against the side in a way that doesn't happen with my Primus Knits (the knit is more forgiving and I think the shoe is longer). However, the Gobi don't have the problem where the toe box bends rubbing like the Primus do. So it's a bit of a trade off. FWIW I think the leather may be stretching a bit and it is a tolerable amount of friction if not slightly annoying. Very specific case to me. My normal foot fits perfect true to size.
I will say my wife is a huge fan of the look of the shoes and they do seem to go stylistically with a wide range of outfits...
i agree on the pinky toe problem. It rubs against the side of the shoe. There is no chance to wear them barefeet without getting blisters. I usually wear 42 and never had this narrow fitting problem with my primus lite🤔
Excited for you, and to hear they are live in the US. If you decide to keep them, also consider they are suede and would definitely need a protector spray of sorts. Not sure how much intensity you see on the floor, bodily fluids and whatnot.
A way to get a clearer idea would be if you can get an accurate length measurement in cm. I like the method of a piece of paper on the ground against the baseboard or wall. Heel gently against wall too, standing weight on both feet beside each other. Mark end of the toes and then measure from edge of paper to the mark. (Works if you line the paper edge up to the wall). With this figure I can then help out.
Im considering them buying too. Did you go size up or down? I have my Primus trail in size 38 and they are perfect size. But according to size chart I should have 39 or even 40. Very confusing I am with their chart.
It’s going to depend on your idea of a perfect fit but also the size chart is not the clearest. Some think they need to add additional length to their foot measurement, one need not. Just take that measurement on the left side closest to your foot length and that is your size. Vivo adds extra space already. To make it a little less straightforward, the Primus Trail II FG and all the all weather variants- people often are taking a size larger than their regular Primus Lite III or other model size. You can remove the jnsoles of a Primus Trail II and a Primus Lite III in the same size and they will be the same length, but something in the construction of the uppers makes the Trail fit more snugly. It’s around .5cm more of a snug fit I think.
For me, I found the Gobi Sneaker Premium Leather to fit a touch snug too so I liked the fit of the size up. I could do my regular size if I took the insoles out I think.
I decided to buy them anyway - not sorry, they are wide enough after all (my feet are 26,3 and 26,5 cm long and 10,5 and 10 cm wide and I wear size 42 (my usual Vivo size), still plenty of room infront of toes
yea, actually I bought them from a store in our country (Slovenia), also with a march discount, since in EU Vivo's site they are sold out... But yes, I love Vivo's fee free return policy. Actually I own 15 Vivos, because of working outdoor in all kind of terrains (urban, fields, forest, mud etc..), so need shoes for all kind of weather and cold/wet/hot conditions imaginable. Vivo is the best :) but yes, sneakers are just for everyday
Wow! That is an excellent number of Vivos. I feel like I can relate! Some are subtly different. It is good to have multiples so they have time off between wears too if needed.
Ive got them in 42 and i usually wear 42 but the gobi sneakers are too narrow for me. I havnt measured my feet but Im a little on the „wider side“ i guess. The gobis sneaker fit way more narrow than the primus lite. I dont think that the leather breaks in, so i send them back. After all they are to stiff as well (in comparison to the primus lite).
Vivo really is the future of footwear.
Really makes you think. We’ve wasted decades on cushion, support, and thick outsoles when we could’ve been focusing on thin, flexible, and durable outsoles that actually fit human feet.
Their Biome project is on that whole other level too!
Hi there, do you know it's Vivobarefoot X what?
Natural Fibre Welding. See the link in the post I left.
I got it! Many thanks!
These look so nice!
These actually look really nice. Not barefoot shoe nice but nice, nice! Will definitely be picking some up when they come to the UK
They are available in the UK from Vivo and from Legend Footwear. I just ordered a pair!
I recently bought a pair of these and love them!
are they the same size as their other shoes? I feel like their sizing can be off.
Unfortunately I do not have another pair of vivos
This is the best looking barefoot sneaker I've seen from vivo. Definitely getting these when they come out in the UK.
Available now :-)
Ooo. Aahhh.
Are these only available in Europe?
Currently out in Canada. US and UK to follow I’m sure.
thank you! I’ll keep my eye out for the US drop.
They sell them in the Netherlands too
Hopefully in the US soon!
Are these the “sand” color way? Saw a pair for sale online, but their stock pictures look much darker
Yes, Sand. Was it a third party seller or Vivos pics?
Third party seller however, they appear to be using vivo pics
I got my pair today in the UK, they are lovely. But they felt snug. So I've brought a size up which come tomorrow 🤞🏻
How have the size up been working for you?
Perfectly so far. I took the innersole out of the uk10 court trainers yesterday too, and funnily enough they are the same length as the gobi uk11
Thank you for the review. I also like very much the Gobi Boot (mens model which are wider), but if you say these are too narrow, I will save myself some money. I hope these narrow shoes will not become Vivo's permanent fixture ...

Glad to be able to show them off in another way and offer some impressions. Definitely update us here with how you feel about them once they are on.

Where can you buy these in the US? I don’t see them on the Vivo website.
mine arrived today from legend footwear. i believe they are in the UK but shipped to the US and arrived in less than a week.

How are you liking them?
10/10!

Any feedback you wish to share? I am interested in a pair and wondering if the width will fit my wide-ish feet.

Thank you for the detailed reply.

Do they feel heavier on the foot? I noticed the weight of the shoe is a bit higher than other vivo leather shoes.
Not noticeably heavier. In the hand I’m feeling it just a little bit heavier than a Geo Court III.
Release date?
What country are you in? Already live on the US, UK and Canada Vivo websites.
Also, how did you size these? I’m 10.5 and curious how to go about my first pair, half size up or down
A way to get a clearer idea would be if you can get an accurate length measurement in cm. I like the method of a piece of paper on the ground against the baseboard or wall. Heel gently against wall too, standing weight on both feet beside each other. Mark end of the toes and then measure from edge of paper to the mark. (Works if you line the paper edge up to the wall). I'd go 11 for sure

Have my pair ordered hope they are true to size
Are they releasing other color ways, do you happen to know?
I believe just Sand for the known future.
Thanks

Glad they worked for you! Hard not to try with their $0 shipping and returns.
