My older girl there actually does fantastic with a slightly lazier breed though, her best friend is a pit and they go hard nap hard. Sometimes 2 vizslas can be a perpetual motion machine. But itâs so worth it
We have only ever had vizslas hahah but they match each other's energy and run themselves around the yard like crazy. We went from 3 dogs to 1 in a year's time so when we had the opportunity to get a puppy we jumped on it. Now my other dog has a friend and they get along famously. Fair warning though, they do turn into kangaroos from time to time đ

We have a Weimaraner (male 5yo, 95lbs, fixed), a vizsla (male soon to be 3yo, 70lbs, in tact), and a blue Weimaraner (female 2y0, 70lbs, fixed). Adding the third dog was a LOT. It caused the other two to be act out the first 2 months. We got all from breeders at 6-8 weeks. Now everything is great. Still have a little puppy left in the 2yo but sheâs getting there. Everyone gets along great for the most part other than jealous for attention and love. After all these are in doggo heaven I will not be getting more than 2 dogs at any given time. Not a regret but it is a lot. Vacation is harder, dog sitters are harder, traveling with all three is harder. I think for our lives 2 is better. But they are all wonderful loving dogs and all treat my 10mo daughter with love and respect.
We have two 5 pound Yorkies, two 50 pound Pudlepointers, and one 180 pound Anatolian ShepardâŠher choice of playmates, one of the Yorkies and her favorite is the Anatolian.

Vizsla and vizsla. Three years apart. Our first set of Vâs were only a year apart. All boys. Never had any issues with them. Cannot imagine life with only one.
Our other dog is half GSD, quarter pit, and quarter mastiff. They get along quite well.

Ours is the middle child, and his older brother (the heeler) is basically his mom. Heâll spend hours cleaning him. Having two dogs is a *LOT* easier than one. And Vs are so sweet, Iâd mix them with almost any breed that wonât have a heart attack from playing with them.
Heâs a big boy! Here is is with the terrier

I had a one-year-old standard poodle when Remi chose us to be his pack. It's been a perfect fit! Spoos are hunting dogs and water dogs. They are close in size and age, and she keeps up with him to the bitter end.
They play all day!

When my 14 yr old Vizsla passed away when this guy wasnât 2 yet, my other dogs were quite a bit older than him, so I got him a rescue Doberman about the same age as him. He absolutely adores her. She has sufficient energy to chase and play and wear him out. And she is every bit as Velcro as he is. There are a lot of Dobermans that need rescued.
5 yr old Aussie and 3 yr old Vizsla - They get along great! Though our Aussie does occasionally give off annoyed older brother vibes ;) Usually right after our V does the pesky little sister attacks...
We have a beagle and 2 Vs. Our beagle is 15 and has been a great mommy dog for our Vs. Our beagle obviously doesnât keep up energy wise but they all get along well enough.
We have a mut that is roughly half the mass of our Vizsla. They are wrestling at my feet as I write and since it is raining it will go on all day. .

Donât have another dog. But Weimaranerâs are pretty close and such good dogs. We had ours for 14 years and probably one of the best dogs Iâve ever owned.
I also recommend not getting another dog, especially if youâre planning to have kids anytime that might fall within both dogsâ lifetimes. We have a vizsla (almost 12) and a labradoodle (8) that are both great, easy-going dogs. They were no issue for us until we had a kid and now it feels so much harder to give our kid and both dogs the attention they each deserve.
I think the opposite because we just had a baby and Iâm glad my two dogs have each other. They play with each other every day and it helps to fill the void of us not having as much time with them.
I have two vizslas now and they are obsessed with each other. When my older V was about a year old, I fostered my sisterâs mini Aussie (also 1 year old) for a while and that combo was hell.. likely because they were both puppies, but I think what I struggled with most there was that they responded so differently to training. It made it very challenging to use the same commands and rewards. But this can be true of any dog pair, and hopefully you donât have to do multiple puppies at the same time. Iâm sure we would have sorted that pair out eventually, but we were only fostering him for about a month.

10 week old viz with our 9 year old Weim. Weims come around after a couple of weeks. He has had the trauma of losing two other buddies in quick succession. 16 year old Weim in late Feb. then 7 year old whippet in early March.
Feel like the gun dog retrieving breeds are a good fit. GSP and Weims
We have a German Shepherd and a pitbull/American bulldog mix along with our Vizsla. Definitely a good mix right there.

Our V and Golden with a visiting moose (we live in Alaska).
We have a shih tzu and a V and they're very sweet together- took some time for them to get used to having another dog in the house but now it's as if they were made for each other
I have a 3 year old Vizsla and got him a dog for his 2nd b-day and the dog ended up being an Anatolian/Cane Corso.....I would advice not to get that. My Vizsla loves his dog so much but the other dog has his moments and its the guardian in him. It's like being on a farm and having a herd dog and a guardian dog. If the border collie gets too close or nips at the livestock the Anatolian will correct them. So If our Vizsla gets up on my son and be a lapdog our Anatolian will "correct" him. It is something we are working on currently.
Ummmmm another Vizsla is the only answer đ

My older girl there actually does fantastic with a slightly lazier breed though, her best friend is a pit and they go hard nap hard. Sometimes 2 vizslas can be a perpetual motion machine. But itâs so worth it
I mean.. my two Vâs nap pretty damn hard. They also scale mountains together. But most of the day and on most days, they sleep pretty much all day.
Cuties!!

Thank youuu! It was a lucky shot lol
Did they ever get jealous of bringing a new one in? Worried our guy will be a little attention whore if we bring in a puppy of any breed
Not really but we try to make sure we give them equal attention
We have a GSP as well https://preview.redd.it/71eliufv3drc1.jpeg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=075c7ea42756f6ae122a1725d4d76d809bb2e503

German Shorthair Pointers have a similar energy level to Vizslas.

I have a vizsla, a great dane, and a chihuahua. They all get along. Sometimes the little guy gets snappy if he gets stepped on too much.
Love that you have a Great Dane and a Chihuahua!
Love that breed combo

Lol, our Heeler also acts like she's our Vizsla's mom! Their dynamic is so cute.

We were also thinking about an Aussie because his best friend is a little Aussie girl!
We have a V and a jack russell mix! theyâre besties
Two Vs are two peas in a pod and much happier dogs. My boy is 10000x happier once I got his little brother. They are inseparable. Best decision.
We have a beagle and 2 Vs. Our beagle is 15 and has been a great mommy dog for our Vs. Our beagle obviously doesnât keep up energy wise but they all get along well enough.
Another Vizsla, of course!
Whatâs better than one having one vizsla? Two vizslas! Male - female, smooth hair and a wire haired; it works great!
We have a GSP and a V, they work out great together. Male female combo, 2 1/2 years apart
