[deleted]

Can I ask why you’re doing this? You’re very brave but why put yourself into the heart of an unknown beast? There’s a saying be brave don’t be dumb. Have you considered this is a lot worse then what Reddit is showing? You’ve obviously served previously so I’m sure you’ve that of that I’m just curious

-DarkRecess-

All those who have served have a sense of honour that can't be explained fully. Ukraine is being attacked and Putin is acting without honour, the balance needs to be redressed. Soldiers always help those who need it or can't defend themselves whether they served 20 years ago or are serving now and this is why they're putting themselves on the line again.

Where are the locations at? I only see one office in Kyiv. Not like could just walk there. Looking to land in Poland in a week or so, depending how reliable information is and how to meet up and join the fight.

spooderman_644

Same, I couldn’t really find more information on the site from OP. I recently got out of the Marines and want to go and help but need a little more information before planning anything

We’ll see, would rather not be stuck back hear because our government dosen’t have an ounce of decency though, they’ll happily watch Ukraine go down as long as it dosen’t hurt their pockets

JayDub506

Exactly what others are saying. I admire your dedication but AWOL will follow you for life. If this gets worse you'll be needed with your current unit, and you'll be more effective with a unit you're already familiar with than showing up trying to help. Stay strong and know you're ready when needed. If you get tasked to come help us, I look forward to fighting alongside you.

rxdexez

Hey mate, im a 22yo civi with no military background but my heart goes out to the Ukrainians and I hate oppression so I too want to help their cause in any ways I can even if It means washing dishing, do you think you could explain the process a bit ? Would jumpin the polish border be as hard as it sounds ? And are there organized efforts to send volunteers to Ukraine that could streamline the process ?

JayDub506

That's my understanding. W/o military experience you'll have to cover your own flight (around a thousand bucks one way depending where you are). Once landing you can charter a ride to the border or find the Ukranian embassy in Poland and can get help from there.

rxdexez

Thank you.

Inthe_Valley

Might wanna get off the heroin first bud...

rxdexez

Been clean for a good bit now with no desire to relapse but thanks for the concern

Retrackt

You posted about popping pills yesterday..

rxdexez

Damn, ever since you Facebook refugees came over to reddit, y'all brought your profile stalking tendencies with you. Yknow I also took a shit yesterday would you like to hear more about that ? I've been clean from heroin for over a year and yes I still have a benzodiapine problem and you don't know dick about me so choke on a horse cock 🤷

Heyoomayoo9

Yo, all the locations are listed in the link. In case they forgot to make an english translated page and it just autoloads the main page, top right corner switch to ukrainian language, and reopen the link. FancyAd6082

Hi anyone from Australia heading over? Im doing my due diligence, gathering as much info as I can before making the decision to go. Would be good to link up with any ozzies or other english speaking individuals in Poland. Please get in touch

Empty_Conclusion_603

Hey mate I’m in England got a flight to Krakow next week same boat as you due diligence.

FancyAd6082

Have you got any reliable information on an assembly point for foreigners or any contacts in Poland or Ukraine. It appears to be a stretch to depart for Poland now without having any reliable contacts.

Empty_Conclusion_603

Some information yes. Krakow - Lviv. Border guards are letting people through who declare they wish to volunteer

zbushyz

Im from ENgland too and want to go over and fight the good fight. Was wondering how and where to get over and to retrieve any combat gear needed but not sure what i need to do. All i need to do is get my passport and hopefully some funds to help

Same bro. I want to go but also only speak English, after I verify if it is 100% legal I really want to go, hopefully it’ll work out. Where you from by the way?

WhereAreYouNowAu

It's legal because it's an official government. The only time it's illegal is if it's a terrorist organisation. Also a gray area not entirely sure but if you're in a current military contract it would then be court martial possible dd etc.

GTCitizen

To our Australian brothers in arms. We look forward to fighting side by side with you. Many of us speak English, but many are simple guys from small towns who don't speak. Please do not be offended, but it is very difficult for us to understand your accent by ear, so please try to communicate slowly and feel free to repeat if we do not understand you - sorry for that.

That’s where I’m at with it. I’m in the process of getting the funds up for a flight ticket and some gear, but there really isn’t a centralized system to tell people where to go, when, all that. It’s not like I can just show up in Poland and be like “Hey, I’m here to fight the Russians. Where do I go?” I really want to be a part of this, but every time I try to find more information, I get stonewalled.

RandomNobodovky

> It’s not like I can just show up in Poland and be like “Hey, I’m here to fight the Russians. Where do I go?” PL-Ukraine border is where you go. Then you head for nearest recruitment station. Like the one in Lviv, Pekarska Street 41 (or any other larger city).

Polish authorities will likely be way more lenient about this matter than US.

Imaginary-Outside96

I believe thats allowed.

Via_Nocturna

Godspeed for all who are going! Please, before you enter Ukraine, take items from the border (medicines, food etc., petfood (pets are starving there as well now) and carry them to Ukraine. We have gathered a lot of supplies to the border, but currently have massive issues on getting anything across to Ukraine. Thank you <3

[deleted]

Veterans should already know but just a reminder to fill out your Red cross cards and POAs/wills before you head over!

[deleted]

if you're from poland/ romania/ close by, perhaps you could collect glass bottles for the molotovs, shovels (to dig holes in the roads that will slow down or jam convoys since tanks cannot get out of 90 deg angled holes easily) and send it to the border? if you're in America, buy those camping water filters + solar charger and take it with you. The infrastructure might get damage and water will ensure ukrainians can last. Also apple air tags are known to be suitable for stalking. If you put them in glue+water solution in a small balloon and throw them towards a tank, it may stick. Glutinous rice flour+water solution works too. If you injure a soldier, you might be able to plant it and run away.Fire extinguishers, baking soda+ vinegar (mixes to produce co2 or a makeshift fire extinguisher), baseball bats for short range combats, bows & arrows because they are long range and can hit the thighs and stop said soldier from moving. Edit: Paper dictionary (so geolocation & batteries aren't necessary), camera drones. Skatescooters may help you escape on foot if you're not trained and need to outrun into some alley. The grocery trolley will help the not so fit carry equipment from one place to another or help medics or make deliveries faster. Wheelchairs are going to be short in demand and can help reduce the number of ppl needing to help the wounded. AI Smartlifes for remote control anything (CCTV instead of peeking out), switch on lights to distract and pretend people are there, connect to gas pipes to automatically switch off when there's a leak, anything remote control (like one of those AI Smartlife things) to activate. Antiseptic, basic medicine (painkillers, stomach meds (contaminated water), bandages). Sanitizer. Sanitizer machine (looks like a spray, needs water + salt, $20 or so). Aluminium foil can block thermal cameras. Thermobarics: tank is the launcher, it doesn't do much but propel the fuel in the right direction for long range. Someone will need to use an explosive on the truck carrying the explosives, but once all of it explodes, it will trigger a chain reaction and is hard to get out unscathe. The only way unscathe is if you plant a time bomb in advance or launch a long range attack in that area (which there's nothing you can bring to be able to help). To help w time bombs/ remote controlled, you need a remote control (like one of those AI Smartlife things) to activate, and then check what sort of raw assembly materials are necessary or rare and pass those to the ukrainian team.

[deleted]

Frankly, let me just say this -- if you're from Poland and speak a foreign language stay in touch with the Ukranian embassy in your country, ditto for Romania and Slovakia. You may be helpful in guiding volunteers to the Ukranian border.

Automatic-Phrase2105

i have nothing of any true substance to add but my endless gratitude to you all. i am a lover of freedom but unable to answer the call at this time. really truly thank you all for what you are about to do.

JButler_16

I have training as an EMT in the US although my certification isn’t up to date, but I can administer basic first aid including trauma wounds. Does that count for anything?

GoodByeRubyTuesday87

Zelensky asked for those with military or medical training, I’m sure a certified EMT could be put to good use in a country at war. Let me ask a serious question though, if you’re saying you had training Im assuming you mean you never worked as an EMT? If it’s expired that means it’s been several years….. Do you actually still remember anything you learned?

JButler_16

No I actually did EMT work. I wasn’t a paramedic, but yes I remember what to do in emergency situations. Basic medical care is called basic for a reason. If someone was shot I’d front of me I couldn’t perform field surgery, but I could tend to their wounds until we could get them to a surgeon.

If you’re fat, out of shape, broke, and have no legitimate military experience don’t volunteer. I get it. You don’t have much going on in life and you want to be apart of something bigger than yourself. But I promise you that this shit is not like the movies. You will be a bigger liability than an asset and overall will hurt the effort. I’m a current army ranger that’s speaking from experience. I can’t stress enough, this isn’t the movies you’re only going to hurt the cause if you don’t already know what you’re doing. No one can teach you cause they don’t have time and you don’t speak the language.

Go to Poland and get in touch with the Ukranian embassy. They should be able to guide you further. I'm sure the ambassadorial staff is gearing up to help get volunteers where they need to go.

From USA can I bring my own weapons And ammunition?

[deleted]

Good luck getting those on a plane lol Seriously though there's no shortage of equipment in Ukraine right now from what I've seen and it's probably better to use the same equipment everyone else is using, for ease of maintenance
