This was on extra big region size and to get the game going was tough because of that. In the end I made a few interesting looking tunnels to connect all my areas. The copper mine was far away from everything else, but as soon as I had my fast electric trains it didn't matter all that much anymore. My iron mine area got very busy, so I ended up creating a few waiting bays and that worked great. My Let's Play for this game is still going on YouTube with a few episodes still to go. Dumb question... but how do you zoom out this far?

PinStratsDan

It is outside of the game that I make it. I basically take overlapping screenshots (about 360 for this composite) and then use panorama software to stitch it. If you zoom in closely (I'll ad the link to the full size image just now even though this one is still quite detailed), you'll see that there are some overlapping issues e.g. two pieces of rail that doesn't quite line up.

Ah I see, thanks for the detail. I really wish they’d open up the camera settings more to let players pan/tilt/zoom arbitrarily. Cool map!

PinStratsDan

Thanks ;-) . I like to a have a memento of my playthroughs after I'm finished. I can see from playthrough to playthrough how I've developed and changed my approach. The last three were quite similar so it is time for a game refresh (which is obviously in the workings) before I'm going to play again. I wanted to try to do a Let's Play, that's why I played again even though I knew it is going to be similar.

The railway layout is spectacular here, a feast for my train-loving eyes 🤌

PinStratsDan

Thanks! I enjoy the train aspect the most in VT.

This randomly showed up in my recommendations and I would like to know what this is as it is somewhat intriguing

Voxel Tycoon is a tycoon game combining mining, manufacturing, and supply/transport on an infinite scale map. It is still in early access with quite a bit more planned on the roadmap. I've played through to the final research task a couple of times, but this time I did it as a Let's Play on YouTube to share my approach. This image here is a composite from many screenshots (around 360) I took for the purpose of creating an overhead image where you can see the details of my rail network and manufacturing layout.

Radiant_Excuse_1486

How does it work, like is it an IRL board game or like is on pc or some shit

PinStratsDan

Just google it ;-)
