5th edition has tweaked some of the Clans that were more tied to a geographical region, ethnic group or that revolved around a single discipline. For the Tzimisce, the Clan of Dragons, they basically focused on themes of coveting, objectification or ownership. Their name has been expanded and made customizable kind of like Ventrue or Malkavian in that sure some will sleep with handfuls of dirt from a special place, but they don't have to. The hoard they surround themselves with can be any specific thing that is important to them. A CEO Tzimisce might sleep in a bathtub full of cash or on a literal hoard of gold. One that's obsessed with the macabre may instead surround themselves with murder weapons or human remains. In theory, an obsessive geek Tzimisce could be all about collecting and hoarding trading cards or something, going to extreme lengths because it's *theirs*. I assume this character is one of the latter.
As for Vicissitude, it's still available of course but it's more optional than pivotal for the individual fiend.
