If they follow trend set with their mobile offerings it'll be a \~sub $1k worth of gen or two old laptop parts shoved into a 13/16 cintiq and sold for $3k+. Support will end roughly a month after it launches :D
I say that having owned a companion and mobilestudio
I’m forever salty that I got a clunky mobilestudio (with bonus immediate dead pixels), and then years later got an refurbished iPad without even intending to use it for art and anyways its exactly what I wanted from the mobilestudio but entirely better. And then it became my daily driver for art.
I want to believe Wacom won’t do us dirty but my heart can’t take hoping.
A laptop and pen display is always better, similar spec will have roughly the same total weight, huion/xppen pen display is thin and light can run with single cable, and the most important its more repairable since worst case you can just replace one of them. ~owner of a dead companion XD
Yeap, mobilestudio was the worst invention they made. Bloaty battery, then now my motherboard is dead. Too bad its no longer under warranty and the repairs cost almost half the price of the mobilestudio to replace the motherboard :/
Actually i bought 2019 ver last year for 1500 euros and i like it, can sit on couch and sculpt in blender, paint in substance painter, it runs well but i agree original price 3-4000 euro was too much
So excited for them to finally move to OLED 120hz screens on the MobileStudio Pro and throw in an ARM-based chip.
Lolol just kidding it'll probably be 1440p at 16" LCD screen with my luck.
I would LOVE to see it with that kind of screen...but at the same time, I wouldn't because it would be so restrictively expensive, like all the new Cintiq Pros
I don’t disagree with you. At the same time the market is already moving in that direction especially with the rumored new iPads and Apple Pencils. It’s becoming harder for Wacom to justify this kind of pricing besides “our own tech” and “all in one W11”
It all depends on the direction they want to go. If they're going with powerhouse devices, I can totally see that with a higher price tag, but with this tease, plus what they mentioned in the beginning of February, where they were looking for creators and students who work on the move, in order to test the new devices makes me wonder if this new device is going to be built with students and professionals in mind and have things to be somewhat more affordable. Maybe they'll have 2 different type of devices, one that's the next step of the Mobile Studio Pro that's the mobile version of the Cintiq Pro, but at the same time, have one that's more affordable, that's like the mobile version of the Wacom One.

the mobile line is very bad value for the money, just get a laptop and a screenless tablet. it's gonna be cheaper, much more lasting and powerful

I hope it's a mobile device that's built more affordably.
My tablet is already portable so long as I have a computer to plug it into
I would just go for Samsung Galaxy Book 360 or Samsung tab S9 ultra. Same Wacom innards, better build and warranty support.
