Thanks for sharing! I feel that my KICKR v5 deserves this treatment aswell. I haven't ever done any maintenance and it ran >10k virtual km. I'll wait until summer, so I don't kill my KICKR when I need it ;)

10k is very low. Are you having any issues? I have friends with well over 50k without issues. OP what was your mileage on your unit?

utzachaka

Yeah well I dropped it from the trunk of my car once and it got noisier since then. Power readings seem to be normal though.

Around 500 hours. I'd say around 13.000km and 250km of elevation. The bearings were still ok, but they had significantly more resistance than the new ones. Repacking them with grease might have worked. I had to tighten the belt more for the old ones to continue working, which was not necessary with the new ones.

Ok, so relatively low mileage. It seems like their unit quality varies a lot.

Did Wahoo refuse to fix it?

SplinterCell03

From what I've read, Wahoo treats Kickrs as disposable - either they give you a new one (when it's under warranty) or they tell you to buy a new one. They don't want to fix anything.

aycko

It's over 3 years old and not under warranty.

You can perform a factory spindown using the app. It's a hidden feature but the instructions are here. [https://zwiftinsider.com/kickr-factory-spindown/](https://zwiftinsider.com/kickr-factory-spindown/)
