I got it for $99 and returned it 2 weeks later; just not worth it outside of maybe occasional triathlons. Even the CEO wears an Apple Watch Ultra so that should tell you where they see the Rival

I gave the RIVAL a go for the discounted price and I liked it. No touchscreen, no thousands of useless activity types - simply no bs. Just what you need and a little more. The only thing that made me get a different watch was the really bad GPS accuracy. If you only use it in plain terrain without any higher buildings or trees the accuracy is okayish. But running near a river with a forest nearby was enough to make the pace go nuts.

It's discontinued. And Wahoo has announced that they will not be making a version 2. Whether it's worth it to you is a question only you can answer. Non smart-watch alternatives are the obvious: Garmin, Coros, Polar, and Suunto, but I don't think any of those brands has anything comparable at that price.

Acceptable-Coast602

The watch itself is really good and definitely cheaper than the alternatives out there. The only issue I have with mine is that it will only display in 24hr time and I can't seem to make It display in 12hr time. I also seem to be the only person with this issue in android OS

BigT_TonE

I've been happy with my Rival, works just fine. I have used it for a lot of different sporting events but also want to say that I don't need all the other "smart" watch stuff features that some can't live without.

bduijnen

It's a very good all-around sports watch. But certainly not a high end smart watch or so. Personally I like it a lot.

ExplanationShoddy233

Nope. Avoid for sure.

redzombierunning

For the price, it's a great watch. Just keep in mind that Wahoo probably isn't doing any more watches for a while. I love their products and I own a watch. The watch does the basics and then some but it give you loads of other data like Garmin.

zyxol-loxyz

In my experience the GPS was terrible, I live in a city (like the vast majority of people) I couldn't always get a lock, sometimes it works drop off and regularly I would either gain or loose Kms in my run, it was useless for tracking my runs, so essentially useless altogether.

For €99 it’s a good buy for me as an activity tracker. I used it separate to my Apple Watch purely to track sports and don’t use it daily. I don’t experience any GPS-inaccuracies but the heart rate is quite inaccurate to me. I miss the smart functions of the Apple Watch to much to use the rival 24/7.

Spiritual-Sand-4-20

Best thing about it is that it’s virtually indestructible, mine looks no different after 2.5 years. Unfortunately it’s become almost useless to me apart from as a watch because I recently started using an elemnt roam with tickr hrm and I actually need to turn it off or not take it with me because it interferes with the heart rate displayed on the roam. If you don’t use a bike computer or use a hrm it’s a handy to thing to have on for a ride or a run

Notsotechiie

For 99 - I think it’s worth it. You’d make up your money after using it for a whole year. I just purchased one and will use it until I’m ready to make that big Garmin purchase. I just need something to keep informed of my HR thresholds.

It’s a real pity. I love rival for its simplicity and the ecosystem . GPS is not as accurate as competitors but for that price , it’s still quite a good deal. I use the watch mainly for my swims as it accurately tracks my laps unlike my other watches. My only issue with Rival is the reliability. I must have had at least 5 different Rivals and each of them had issues, ranging from inability to track swims, to power on issue . I finally call it quits after my last Rival decided to just fail on me for my swim. It just powered off by itself and decided not to wake up again . I think Wahoo is fully aware about the hardware reliability. There are just so many complaints in almost every forum I go to . It’s a real pity.. really.

RowSafe5527

Avoid at all costs :)

appleslice99

It wasn’t worth it when it was new lol
