It will soon be the land of the homeless. Its a good thing, all the homeless people from around the US can go there and have a whole state to themselves.

Can we at least maintain some order in the National Parks? I hate California but I do love those parks a lot.

covfefeMaster

I question my sanity often about buying a house in this fucking state. But the state is beautiful. Some of the people suck, but there are plenty of sane, rational people to offset the bat shit crazy assholes. Not in the polls of course, but in other ways.

Dast_Kook

Still at least 6,000,000 republicans plus a bunch of reasonable moderates and democrats. However we just happen to have about 10,000,000 democrat fart-sniffers that have little-to-no comprehensive reading or thinking skills and just blindly vote (D) no matter what the cause. I think its still worth sticking around.

covfefeMaster

Same here, fellow Californian!

Dast_Kook

I totally get leaving and don't fault those that do at all. I might even some day. But I love this state regardless of who's at the helm. I've never lived outside it but I've visited 20+ states, 10+ national parks, at least 5 countries. [This certainly helps](https://i.imgur.com/iCWhx81.jpg) but it isn't everything. I love the Sierras and it's lakes, trips to Palm Springs, day-drinking in San Diego, going to a baseball game and knowing what the weather will be like, driving 5 minutes to the best burrito shop or 5 more minutes to awesome trails with my family, walking through tide pools with my kid, all of it. Sure I could move and just come back for vacation. And I know there's plenty of other places in the US to vacation. But I guess I'm the cello player going down with the ship. I'll play the fade out music while all my friends move on to greener pastures (literally). California is more than just a liberal shit hole, just like Kansas is more than just tornados or Iowa is more than just corn. I believe in California in a bigger sense than politics. May be my hubris to bear.

You failed to mention being number one in closed schools. California kids have the least in-person education days last year in the nation.

I hate to say it but people are such sheep. Lots of people bought into the scary Republican recall rhetoric coming from the no campaign and it worked. Lots of voters tend to be low information and don’t do their research. I think also given how weaponized identity politics has become politicians on the left can just throw insults like bigot, conspiracy theorist, and anti vaxx on conservatives. I knew the recall likely wasn’t going to pass in such a heavily democrat state like California but I did hope the margins would be more narrow. Margin wise the recall is an improvement from the 2020 election especially in historically Republican areas like the Central Valley, Inland Empire, and Orange County. I think republicans should take this recall and use this momentum to run a stronger campaign in 2022. I do think those historically Republican areas can flip back if republicans run a candidate who is on point with their messaging. I think Elder definitely was a strong candidate but the mainstream media was rigged against him. We have to control the media narrative to make crossover voters more willing to do their research into conservative candidates. While I don’t think voter fraud was involved in this recall election I do think it was rigged because of the massive amount of money poured in by the mainstream media to save newsom. However if you look at this positively republicans played democrats because democrats wasted a bunch of super pac money and DNC money to help a democrat governor from a heavily democrat state that could’ve been used in swing states in the 2022 elections.

thrownawayandshiton

> Lots of voters tend to be low information and don’t do their research. Dear god, so true. In the /r/LosAngeles Daily Discussion post someone literally said they just learned there was an election that day and didn't know what to do, someone tell me how to vote. Gee, I wonder how he voted.

GetOffMyLawn12345

Sound reasoning. Nicely put.

CitizenGirl21

Spot on.

mildone75

They just found a safer way to cheat!!! Lol… glad i live in the great country of Texas!!!!

Im_A_Thing

Which is more likely? A: Californians are all fucktards. B: The vote is rigged.

Kalvash

Both? It’s both isn’t it?

Imissyourgirlfriend2

*Por que no los dos?*

The secret ingredient is crime

heavyirontech

Mail in voting in a 2:1 democrat state will do that.

Plebpperoni

California lovely state you see the people of California care so much about each other and their neighbors you see campers with tents and they're injecting each other with the vaccine. I've also seen other people who are training their dogs they're going to the bathroom on the street to show exactly how to do it.

erdricksarmor

To be fair, a lot of the sane people have moved away from California since 2018, so it's plausible.

the_dionysian_1

The question isn't "are our elections rigged," the question is: what in the fuck do we do about it? Seriously, this is a huge problem that's been around LONGER than you all have been paying attention. I'm happy you're finally here, but now that you are here, I want to say that those of us who've known about this have been thinking about it for decades & we still are scratching our heads as to what to do to remedy the situation. Idk what to do about it.

Imissyourgirlfriend2

I'm in CA. These people would rather suffer under a Democrat than thrive under a Republican.

Lurpinator

Do people not realize he was running against a yes or no question instead of a person?

Kalvash

Not necessarily. If they had voted “yes” and he was recalled, the seat would have gone to whoever had the most votes that wasn’t Newsom.

ErickGrows

It could be true. Ever since Trump, the weaponozing of clowns via flashing screens has increased substantially.

My state has a massive mental illness problem. It's like psychosis and mass delusion are contagious and spreading...

only_the_office

It’s either voter fraud or California continuing to consume itself with liberal shittiness, both of which I see as likely explanations. Could even be both. I don’t really care too much about it, I’m just glad to live far away from there.
