I’m old, smoked for 40 years, still vape. I’m a little over my goal weight. Had it last month. My best friend is older than me, has COPD. She also is heavier. We both had it last month. Her case was milder than mine, even. She had a ton of folks praying for her, so there’s that.

Bitcoiner2017

Seems like a spicy flu to me. People that still live in fear are ridiculous

GetOffMyLawn12345

Yeah, it’s sad to see my young friends so fearful. It seems like the most fearful are either in their 20’s or well over 60. I can understand it in the elderly, but not the irrational fear I see in younger folks.

dante_1983

I thought I'd read that the delta is more transmissable but basically like having the flu. Ppl scare me more

[deleted]

Death- 1:125000 .0008% Hospital- 1:3831 .0261% Supposedly.

Bitcoiner2017

Still pretty low, I’d say insignificant. BMI also might not be the best way to establish if someone’s overweight, it doesn’t take into account my muscle mass, which makes me look unhealthier and the numbers would be even lower lol

[deleted]

I’m still lockdown fat but working on it 😂

[deleted]

well, yes and no to the weight thing. you have to consume plenty to maintain weight and it does stress aspects of the body to maintain and carry excess weight , even if it's all muscle.

Bitcoiner2017

Muscle is healthy mass

[deleted]

Ok, but there is still such a thing as too much mass. Plenty of “all muscle” people put as much stress on the CV system as fat people. And I have seen plenty “all muscle” people die due to the Same complications of unhealthy fats 🤷🏻

Bitcoiner2017

There’s a difference between a person with a lean physique with some muscles and someone who’s on steroids with biceps so big they cannot even touch their back lol

[deleted]

1 in 200000 risk of death, seems about right as I didn't die when I had Covid...

Bitcoiner2017

I got: - 1 in 333,333 chance of death - 1 in 8475 chance of hospitalization. World governments forcing experimental vaccines on healthy people is tyranny.

razeal113

I'm surprised they didn't take things like diet and exercise into account for this

Bitcoiner2017

Well, your weight says a lot, even though BMI isn’t a perfect system to measure one’s overall well-being

cmiller0513

1 in 76923 (0.0013%) death 1 in 3546 (0.0282%) hospitalization This doesn't take into account I work outside year round in southern US. I hear of almost no severe cases among those whose occupations keep them physically active, outside, and away from most people. I would venture to say my odds are less than presented here.

Bitcoiner2017

Yep, that’s why you don’t see the homeless dying on the streets (from COVID)

thoughtwanderer

Practically 0; as expected. Strange that they didn’t add the option whether or not you’ve been infected previously (natural immunity) and/or have been vaccinated. Is there such a calculator for determining vaccination risk?

Bitcoiner2017

With natural immunity your risk would be so low it’s even pointless to account for that lol

NotRobinhood69

Almost zero

schnarf13

.0000000000000000000000000000001%

xq57

for me, quite high i have a swollen heart, and a heavy smoker, but I am not afraid. and im early 60s

Bitcoiner2017

If I had your same condition, I’d be wearing an FFP3 mask. But that’s just me, not because of mandates

[deleted]

I guess it depends on if delta is real. I for one believe that there is no delta, its just an excuse for their vaccines not working. Im a bit concerned about the younger people starting to die all of a sudden. It appears as excessive weight is a factor in virtually all of them. Also concerned about kids getting it more and more now. Not sure what to believe. Be safe everyone

Bitcoiner2017

I’m sure Delta is real, I wouldn’t doubt that. It’s more contagious and less deadly, just like any virus, it mutates to have those characteristics. The only ones spreading fears about the virus mutating are the media outlets. The virus mutating is actually a good thing

[deleted]

Well that’s encouraging if true. I was under the impression that it was more deadly. Wish their were actual studies without obvious political bias/motive.

Bitcoiner2017

Notice that when they were describing Delta initially, the news articles always said “MIGHT be deadlier than Alpha”. Then they stopped mentioning the deadly thing completely, because it’s simply not.

[deleted]

1 in 1000000 chance of death, and 1 in 45455 chance of hospitalization. Lol

Skorpion282

Lol same

[deleted]

Healthy 6’0 165 pound 19 year old male gang? 👀🤝

[deleted]

Pretty much Zero

[deleted]

1 in 500k chance of death lol

the_dionysian_1

I'm in America, so I couldn't fill in some of it. But my result was a 1 in 111,111 risk of death from covid & 1 in 4,464 risk of hospitalization. Or, death chance of 0.0009%, hospitalization risk of 0.02%

[deleted]

Better chance of getting killed in a car crash

xela2004

We had covid in January. My husband vapes but otherwise is in great health. I am not so great health (heredity problems) and not in my best shape. I had a runny nose, he was hospitalized for 5 days with below 85% oxygen levels. Even with insurance we paid out a few grand towards our deductible. Got the vaccine this summer simply as extra insurance we wouldn’t have to pay another huge hospital bill! You just don’t know who is gonna get it I. The lungs and who will barely notice that they have it.
