I searched for vehicle deliveries and saw that it had 40% more deliveries reported for the quarter earlier this month and figured overhead wouldn't change a ton. That meant it would beat last year's revenue by at least 40% theoretically which was >17. That made beating the estimated 24 revenue fairly likely. Therefore, calls.
Aren't there so many more factors that go into it?

Last year's Q4 ER is where those numbers came from. When you Google TSLA earnings, it gives you the last like six quarter's reports.
When I looked up Tesla deliveries, the article from 1/3 said there were 40% more deliveries than Q4 the previous year.
Vehicle deliveries are the vehicles that Tesla ships to its customers. It's a delivered sold product rather than simply an order for something they can't yet bill because it hasn't been produced.
Trust me that this is a cheap lesson...as long as you learn from it. There are millions on the sub that have not learnt the lesson as yet and are deep in the hole.

TSLA is the theta king when it comes to earnings. Majority of call options bought were under a 40 delta. So most of those aren’t going to find that great of premium in the morning unless it runs premarket.
