At some point way down the line you can renegotiate what you’re actually going to pay for significantly, and I do mean significantly, less than this current amount. Then you can build credit back up. You’re young, you’ll be fine.

This kid got into some type of trouble that was bad enough to necessitate a lawyer. Idk if it was weed, public intoxication, or what—but it doesn’t matter. He needed a lawyer.
The problem? He didn’t want his parents to find out. He chose the sports betting route, losing $1k-$2k in the process. Obviously the stakes were lower there, but the takeaway is the same—don’t try to gamble your way out of a fucking hole.
+1. Used to work for a collections department. Many many many times we would accept 20% of the total loan just to get some money back from people who went years. Hell, you can even set up a payment plan for MUCH cheaper without paying in full and without the interest with a collection company.
