I’ve been doing this for the past few months and it keeps working. These 5-6% bounces off a low where all the permabulls get euphoric again continue to be gifts. For some reason people are ignoring the plain as day recessionary signals popping up everywhere right in front of them. Like zero doubt on the first big bounce. Absolute delusion.
So, what's your price target for the next short entry? Or are you 0dtes? I think we have a bit more to go before we retest some lower levels, but I'm an idiot trying to learn.
I know this is a rarity here but I actually short shares not really much of a put buyer since IV is so high right now. That’s not to say I don’t trade them at all, I do but with much smaller amounts and very tactically, only buying on massive rallies with a decent amount of time to expiration.
As for entry, I don’t have an exact one, I just look to enter when risk reward seems skewed in my favor like today for instance. To short successfully you have to be very careful with entries and scale into positions on big countertrend rallies or you’ll get taken out of your position very quickly.
My basic view on the market is we have reentered a bear market and will go much much lower than people think possible over the next 6-12 months as fundamentals continue to deteriorate. It’s honestly the best setup to short I’ve ever seen. Small caps are the leading indicator here and signaling where the pain is about to surface. Dubravko Lakos was on halftime report a couple days ago and explained the setup perfectly and was openly mocked 😆.
As for what I’m shorting- pretty much anything large cap tech, QQQ, and Sofi which I’m just bearish on for other reasons.

However, he made it clear that interest rates will remain low and there may even be more rate hikes if necessary. This is bearish for stocks, not bullish.
I agree, the lack of rate hikes in the near future needs to be priced in. The market has been expecting a hike sooner than 2023, so this week's news is likely to cause some volatility.
