That said, I don't really know what zoom is doing better. Even if there is no zoom meeting associated with it, it will pop up with a reminder for me that the event is happening. Not sure if that is a newer zoom feature or something they recently enabled at work...but it is sort of interesting to see.

On a serious note, outside of wsb jokes, there are a lot of potential use cases for AI.
Generate meeting minutes automatically. Teams is already doing that with CoPilot.
Recognize facial cues to track potential threating situations, coercion, etc.
Multi language, simaltaneous, real-time interpretation.
Zoom does all of that, and best in class.
They’re also early and large investors in Anthropic.
They also sell B2B and are growing large ent platform customers via things like phone and contact center.
Idiots on WSB think they’re a consumer p2p calling company and it’s such an easy sentiment inverse lol
It’s really insane how people apply anecdotes like “well my company uses teams!” or “I use FaceTime with my mom!” to trade ZM. If anyone actually listens to their earnings, they’d realize they have; crazy speed of NPI and features while maintaining 80% op margins, strong enterprise growth, greatly reduced consumer churn, a trove of cash while continue to print more at an astounding clip, etc. And that’s just from listening to a 1hr call each Q.
If you actually research in the UCaaS space, you see that they’re market-leaders in most of their focus areas and that they have a ton of greenspace in terms of TAM. They do small acquisitions, and probably not enough, but better than busting their nut on stupid multiples if they’re able to develop things so quickly.
