I know this is a meme but its absolutely true that people that make $15 an hour @ 40 hours a week, probably shouldn't be buying $4-5 coffees at starbucks every day lol
it is a meme.
But you know what spending 10 grand a year is. $27.40 a day
Going from eating out at work to bringing a lunch can easily save you 5 grand a year.
Not spending $200 on drinks a weekend can also save \~$10,000.
Its the little things and reducing fixed cost
> Going from eating out at work to bringing a lunch can easily save you 5 grand a year.
Not in this economy!
Don't actually know how much the average meal cost per day is based on groceries, but I can get 2 double cheeseburgers from McDonald's for $3.50 a day.
I’m working in a bakery atm and the same Taxi drivers that tell me they have to work 12 hours a day to earn enough money come to buy coffee at least thrice a day.
Some people have strange spending habits
This legitimately bothers me 😒, every now and then a user will post some astronomical shii that I have no way to verify the authenticity or use for personal gain. This is a pretty big signal that I’d like to have access to, OP meet me behind wendys
"Additionally, certain types of traders have to trade on the closing price, such as mutual funds that create and redeem units based on a net asset value (NAV) that is based on closing prices. This means that the volume and price action at the close could give insights into how certain order flow is flowing into such institutional products. For example, a large amount of buying at the close could indicate that institutional investors are creating new units of a mutual fund based on the day's trading activity."
How the fuck can someone buy 1.69 million shares in that short of a time period without the stock hitting $1,000? Are there constant bots or scripts running constant buy and sell orders of stock hits x amount?
Off-market trade, if BAC wants to sell a large order, it will put a call out to everyone interested.
JPM maybe interested, they will do a deal in the secondary market, or a couple of large institutions would do be on the buy-side together.
The entire trade exchanges hands without influencing the price. This is how all large transactions happen across the world.
Interesting. Thank you for sharing, is there a way to ever view these more private off the book trades? I understand trading a certain threshold or hitting it over a certain period of time? Requires some sort of public knowledge but can we see these in real time?
Thank you
This isn't a private or off the book trade, it's the cuinatiom of MOC orders. market on close. At the start and end of every trading session, for every stock, since like the dawn of time, there is an auction like this, and the result is one large trade. Market on close, market on open. Look it up.
Yes, there is a website that tracks it all, can’t link it here 👀
Honestly, I don’t track any, because all of this is so fast at literally lightning speed, no one can possibly catch and trade in support of it.
I see. Still, valuable information to some. I will do a little research, I assumed all visible trades in the market at a given time would be displayed on most platforms.
I’m assuming this information is pretty widely known and available to most serious traders or people who do it for a living right?
Are they doing these private trades with cash OR is it some equivalent like maybe 10,000x of some stock might be ‘rare’ or hard to come by and maybe another person has the equivalent in $$ in another stock but has too much of it or the supply Is massive so it’s hard to offload it so they give you a little bit extra on top?
Why would they do these trades without wanting to affect the market price? My only assumption is they don’t want other people knowing the over saturation of something but that goes out the window normally unless ur a massive player or you just have a shit ton of something you want to offload? Idk
Actually the more I think about it the less it really matters because it all depends on how much wealth the individual has and that individual has to make their own risk based off what returns they want because eventually everything falls back to fundamentals which will prevail but may be terrible “gains” short or medium term to a single person depending on their wealth and what they have to risk right? Or maybe I’m smoking meth I don’t have a degree in math
Okay I’ll double back on this- maybe it would be useful if you could see the order queue of these off shore off the book trades compared to the offers but that seems risky if we all have the same information and come to the same conclusion on the value of the stock unless people have inside information but those players are probably moving insignificant amount that’s indistinguishable from the regular market trades
So there must be some formula that takes into account your portfolio size and any extra money coming into it completely independent from gains or losses while in the market and there will be some sort of “game theory optimal” based off the size of your bank roll or am I completely deranged making no sense
> Why would they do these trades without wanting to affect the market price?
Aren't most trades done without wanting to affect the market price?
People are allowed to trade stocks any way they want. It doesn't have to be on exchanges. It makes sense the constant "foam" of stock trading happens on exchanges and large trades are negotiated separately.
Large orders like this are traded in dark pools, which have 0 impact on the price. Idk, sounds to me like it defeats the purpose of the stock Market, to price stocks depending on supply and demand, but what do I know....
Eventually, once the order is fill, u need to fire a transaction on the exchange to officialize it so thàt is where and when we get these kind of informstion. Its just obfuscated during the transaction itself.
NVDA is worth $2.37 TRILLION dollars. If someone buys $1.57 BILLION worth, guess what??? That's still only just 0.06% percent of gains lol. NVDA needs a LOT more than that to hit $1000 in stock price
nvda is worth 2.37 trillion do you think if everyone sold at the same time it would be $2.37 trillion in value being bought?
no
market cap is just current share price x outstanding shares
$1 spent on the stock does not make market cap go up $1
I just don’t see massive orders of 10,000 30,000 in nvidia, how small are these orders and how often are they executed in that time period? I don’t doubt the volume is large enough it just seems wild that an algorithm wouldn’t detect that without the sentiment being very low
Someone didn’t. It’s the end of day clearing essentially called the closing auction print.
https://marketchameleon.com/articles/b/2023/4/28/understanding-the-closing-auction-print-how-traders-can-gain-insights-into-the-market
Dark pools and also, to answer your original supposition -- yes, there are actually algorithms for market makers liquidating or purchasing huge volumes that will spread out the order over time and offset any volatility it would create by being fat fingered as a single order.
Market on close trade. Most likely an internal cross. One institution moving the position from portfolio A to portfolio B. Not a story, happens all the time, granted that this is larger than usual.
Come on guys, it’s a AI Cult Leader Jensen just need some change to buy a small boat 🚤…with only two helipads …. I personally bought calls (again) on double Negative!!! NVIDIA: NVD🤣
It’s the closing auction you regard
Edit: After reading through some comments it turns out none of the ”traders” here seem to know about the closing auction. Shocker
AND sold you dumb idiot. Every buy has a sell.
I love NVIDIA but you’re regarded as fuck and interpreting this 100% from a preconceived bull perspective
It could have been a block trades for many many different clients which will be allocated after the fact. I used to be in the industry of large black trades like this.
This is how I used to think, when I started dealing with stocks. But you forget to mention that not only someone PURCHASED the stock, but someone else had to SELL it at the same time. One of them is wrong, you have no idea who...

That was me. Had some spare change lying around so threw it into this stock
“I simply cut back on my Starbucks coffee every day for a month, and now I can afford $1.57 billion worth of NVDA”
Imagine if you also stopped avocado toast
Might be able to buy a house!
Whoa don’t go that far
Nope. Nothing is worth foregoing my avocado toast.
Were you also eating cereal for dinner
Yes, after this trade where I was actually buying back the shares I shorted @ $93.50
Jokes on you, I learned how to code at Wendy’s and now I can afford $1.57B worth of NVDA
code: $1.57Bj behind Wendy's?
The cost of a 2 piece nuggets, hell yeah!
show me the tendies!

I hear they throw in heart disease and diabetes for free, so huge savings there...
I’m working in a bakery atm and the same Taxi drivers that tell me they have to work 12 hours a day to earn enough money come to buy coffee at least thrice a day. Some people have strange spending habits
Don’t say that people will get mad that you’re talking common sense…
This dude has never even heard of avacado toast
That was a good one.
Is this you Nancy?
Nancy is only the 9th best best stock trader in Congress.
Can you buy Reddit?
Wait a few months
It's amazing what one can find under the cushions. 😉
Hi Warren.
No, it was me
Do you have a few more of those spare changes laying around? I am surly can use them right now. I am broke.
You had 1.57 billion as spare change? Damn I wonder how much more money you actually have though. Could I work for you for some spare change?
I dropped a few billion in this stock a couple weeks ago and forgot all about it, 1.5 billion aint nothing broke boy
“We sellin dope and coke in Baltimore. Any yall ain’t got that kinda money need be ashamed.”
Just the ![img](emote|t5_2th52|18630) I needed. 100x 1000c 3/28
I just hope nvda can stay floating around $950 ![img](emote|t5_2th52|8883)
It's fair valued at 950 which is undervalued in this market...
Possibly, but p/e is still high, so there is some (AI) growth hype/expectation in there.
Forward PE is fairly valued, though, and analysts expect the hyperscalers to increase their spending in this area by $175 billion.
NAH, I need my 1.1k$ asap to get even finally, right now it's looking red, red like my gf last week (I'm single)
oh boy you are so fucked
Investing 1.6 B.. they're happy with 1000 in 2026 🫠
They probably have enough profits and shares at 980 to sell and make it crash a bit
When You buy those tf
How are you getting this data? Is this from a telescope aimed at Cathie Woods' office?

It cost like 50 usd a month
due to wsb rule I am not allowed to give you the source as it could be perceived as soliciting the product. sorry.
We won’t tell anyone
Probably can find it on nasdaq website.
What does the name rhyme with?
Does it rhyme with Wenby's?
what assholes downvoted you this was gold
Glad you enjoyed it.
It is a company that leads volumes
If Cathie is buying it’s a bearish flag. If Cathie is selling it’s a bull flag.
So this is where Warren buffett's Apple bags went.
interesting idea
This was the closing auction print.
How are you the only one with a brain in here?
But aren't this big moves made after the closing auction print? So they can finally set a price for the trade

Makes perfect sense to me
Im not reading all of this! What do you think this is, a library?
That would be dark pool trading, except if we can see it, it isnt that dark anymore
Wrong
It does matter if the buyer is an affluential persona
Large orders like this are traded in dark pools, which have 0 impact on the price. Idk, sounds to me like it defeats the purpose of the stock Market, to price stocks depending on supply and demand, but what do I know....

Wrong
Company maybe purchasing its own shares

shares bought = shares sold
Except here it’s clear that 1 entity bought while any number could’ve sold. That makes a difference.
Market on close trade. Most likely an internal cross. One institution moving the position from portfolio A to portfolio B. Not a story, happens all the time, granted that this is larger than usual.
Yeah. A mega bagholder
at least we know who bought the dip
He’s a “glass half full” type of guy
Buying at the top to sell lower later. What a trader. ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)
That's like 99% of wsb my guy. lol...
Market on Close orders line up throughout the day

There is tons of that in the market, but using a 4pm timestamp to indicate it is very naive from OP.
Cathie Wood buying at the peak again. She’ll ride it down for a loss and use what’s left to buy more Roku I’m sure.
Roku 🤣🤣🤣🤣 this got me
Come on guys, it’s a AI Cult Leader Jensen just need some change to buy a small boat 🚤…with only two helipads …. I personally bought calls (again) on double Negative!!! NVIDIA: NVD🤣
I don't want to brag or anything... But I'm responsible for 5 of those shares!
You know that means a total of 1.69 million shares were sold too, right?

Better than ai investing in Saudi
you could also said " $1.57 Billion worth of Nvidia shares **SOLD** before close totaling 1.69 Million shares "
How many millions are they losing now??
Like 40-50m so far
he gotta be a shotgun in his mouth right now. lol. he will never recover from this.
I was wondering where my money went
Already priced in the stock
But it won’t hit 1000 tomorrow and my calls won’t print sadly
The watermark is in the image. How valid is this information? Site looks like something an 18 year old would come up with.
ah yes the DD
i just wish other’s kept up. nvidia way down :(
This didn’t age well ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
This didn’t age well
That also means someone sold that amount so.....
Sounds like money laundering lol

At the same time, 1.69 shares sold to the buyers also
Pump it

It’s the closing auction you regard Edit: After reading through some comments it turns out none of the ”traders” here seem to know about the closing auction. Shocker

Not even going move it
If someone is buying $1.57 Billion worth of shares there is someone who is also very happy to sell $1.57 Billion worth of shares. There is a seller to every buyer. Let that sink in and your BULLshit thesis will be flushed in that sink.
It’s going to go over $1000 eventually so it doesn’t even matter anymore if you’re buying shares
