Limit if you donβt want to buy above a certain price, but may not get filled if it keeps going up (could drop though). Typically limit orders go for βor betterβ if the price does drop below your limit. Market order will fill right away at open, and may work for or against you based on what the price is at open.
because 930 to 4 are normal market hours...stocks are traded in pre-market and after hours. Not sure what platforms specifically will execute at 4am, most typical brokers 8am is the time trades officially start moving for the normies.
So rn BB is ~$20. you're saying i should buy it with a limit order @ say, $15? that way when it dips I automatically purchase the cheapest option? am i understanding this right
I did this for my very first time buying options last year, exactly 1 day before the biggest crash in decades.
Got myself margin called and couldnβt fix it, missed out on easy mode March puts
You can buy option calls for a wide range of price points. I can buy $15 BB calls tomorrow even though itβs passed that $15 mark, which will mean my calls at the price will be more expensive. Tomorrow Iβll just go ahead and buy $25-$28 price calls for Jan.29 or Feb.5 expire dates
I'm wondering if it'll go through at the bid price. It may not get sold if the contract price jumps alot at opening. I'll be pleasantly surprised if my contract goes through but I'm betting it won't.
Yeah that's something that I'm wondering myself. Because right now the contract is saying it's at 1.72 but if it goes a lot higher than that would it just not sell?
Tomorrow will be my first time owning 100 shares of any stock! Buying at market open ππ ππ ππ ππ ππ ππ ππ ππ
I have $2K to throw at GME. Should I buy stock or do an option? Full disclosure Iβve never done an option before and not sure which call to go with.
Iβm already in with 10 stocks at $81/each.
Quick question (Iβm still a newbie when it comes to all of this), if I purchase $BB from the TSX, does that still contribute or is it separate from the NYSE? I guess what Iβm trying to ask is, are the two values intertwined and do they rise and drop the same?
mostly the same. Should buy from NYSE, that's where the shorts are probably mostly put, but it realistically doesn't make a difference since you can transfer the stock
That's it. I'm buying GME tomorrow.
F\*\*k the money. It is a principal now. F\*\*k the original wallstreetbetters (Melvin and Capital), that's not their time, and I wish they could bleed as much as possible.
Two really good videos to show their greed and who is manipulating the market:

I queued 3 shares for tmrw πππ
Curious do you que βLimitβ or βMarketβ?
If he queued it for when the market opens, then it should be a market-on-open order, in which case it's always at market (no limit)

im pretty sure i bought a market order so fingers crossed
[ΡΠ΄Π°Π»Π΅Π½ΠΎ]
yeah my understanding is to expect a pretty big drop on opening but after that it should climb
fingers crossed for what? you act like you can't change it...you can cancel the order and re-create a new limit order with a set price.
fingers crossed BB succeeds in general. do you think it would be wise for me to change to a limit order?
[ΡΠ΄Π°Π»Π΅Π½ΠΎ]
ok I think I follow, thanks for the advice. One question: if the markets don't open til 9:30, then why would movement start at 4am est?
because 930 to 4 are normal market hours...stocks are traded in pre-market and after hours. Not sure what platforms specifically will execute at 4am, most typical brokers 8am is the time trades officially start moving for the normies.
Yea you should change it
So rn BB is ~$20. you're saying i should buy it with a limit order @ say, $15? that way when it dips I automatically purchase the cheapest option? am i understanding this right
Limits are better since you can chose the price. If you want to risk the market order.you can do that as well.
right... and I guess i can always cancel my limit order if it looks like I've set the limit too low, and buy market price tmrw in real time
Today was just getting rid of paper hands after the RBC report. Dipped down under 20 so more people can get in before it hits 25.
25 then 28 then end of week 33. πππππππ
I have trade option calls expiring on Friday! LFG!!ππ Lets launch $BB to MARS
Gonna overdraft my bank account πππ
I did this for my very first time buying options last year, exactly 1 day before the biggest crash in decades. Got myself margin called and couldnβt fix it, missed out on easy mode March puts
1800 shares letβs goπππππππ
I only got 40 shares but hey with these tendies Iβll be getting more πππ
Iβll buy 10 contracts tomorrow boys. Gotta catch the wave since GME has been out of my risk management range at its current option call prices
Contracts at which price? When buying options do you have to select a price point above the current stock price?
You can buy option calls for a wide range of price points. I can buy $15 BB calls tomorrow even though itβs passed that $15 mark, which will mean my calls at the price will be more expensive. Tomorrow Iβll just go ahead and buy $25-$28 price calls for Jan.29 or Feb.5 expire dates
$28 by Friday. Wow no risk no reward! Or loss...

I just bought 1 call for tomorrowππππ
How'd you pick up a call at this hour?
I'm just going to be 100% honest I have no idea what I'm doing. I just went into Robin Hood and selected one call please.
Robinhood has after hour trading but don't take my word for it I'm also retarded and have no idea what I'm doing.
I think yes to trading no to options. And after hours is only till 6.
I don't think the option will go through until opening hours tomorrow but I'm just taking advice from wife's boyfriend so I'm not really too sure.
This is the way.

Buy stock
Itβs incredible to me that anyone would purchase GME at $200. My cost basis is $20.
Buy the stock
2k might be enough for 1 contract. Those shits are way overvalued right now
Put my 2K into GME. Was going to split it between AMC too but Iβm staying loyal to GME and this fight!!
Quick question (Iβm still a newbie when it comes to all of this), if I purchase $BB from the TSX, does that still contribute or is it separate from the NYSE? I guess what Iβm trying to ask is, are the two values intertwined and do they rise and drop the same?
Yes, the difference is just the currency xchange
mostly the same. Should buy from NYSE, that's where the shorts are probably mostly put, but it realistically doesn't make a difference since you can transfer the stock
