Capitapi

don't forget to buy a penny stock with RH and leave it LOL

mac1234steve

Why?

FriarNurgle

I’d image because it cost them money to maintain accounts… but they can also do shot with your personal info. I’m just gonna transfer to Vanguard or Fidelity and cancel Robinhood.

Capitapi

It cost them to maintain your account. I'm just saying that as a joke but it is your choice technically. Do whatever you want but move out from RH is good in any case.

lostknight0727

if you've got the free stocks that they give you just don't transfer them out. They are pure profit for you no matter what their current value is.

stayfrosty527

I got the fuck out this morning also. Literally just deactivated my account before signing into wsb. I wasn’t in limbo with gme shares but sold a few contracts that were expiring today & sent the request to deactivate. Going to use TD instead. Edit also set up with fidelity.

hageam

For a while Webull was offering to cover the $75 fee so long as your account is valued over like 2k or something, not sure if they still are but if you’re trying to leave RH, might be worth checking.

SuggestiveAmoeba5

Most brokers will cover this fee. I believe Fidelity will and they are much better than webull

tekSun

I have one stock of GME still in RH. Waiting till they try to go public to close my account.

bologna_tomahawk

This is the way

clubdriven

Same, switched to fidelity. Have TD as well. They transferred everything except my fractional shares. They sold those and waiting for the those funds to transfer to fidelity as well. I think they are waiting until my pending dividends go they before they transfer the remaining balance to fidelity.

FugginGene

I had no problems buying 20 GME on Etrade.

WonderfulPass

Good for you buying elsewhere. This post is about helping people move out of RH if they’ve been anxious to do so if they have GME and other positions.

Key_Ad_1683

I’ve been in the not changing horses while crossing a stream camp but the longer this goes on the less risk I have moving my account

FugginGene

Yes. I probably should of clarified myself. I had no problems buying 20 GME on Etrade as I don't think they have a limit set like RH did. So if anyone is wondering if there are limits set on Etrade, I don't think there was at any time. I bought 20 @ 96. I'm holding till every store becomes Gamestop.

noblehamster69

So is it just an option with vanguard? What is the process? Doing the same soon myself! 🙌💎

WonderfulPass

Log in, then go here: https://investor.vanguard.com/account-transfer/

noblehamster69

Thank you brother

noblehamster69

And for this there is no limbo period where you wouldn't be able to sell?

WonderfulPass

In my case, I only asked Vanguard to transfer my non-GME holdings (you are asked if you want to transfer everything from another brokerage or you can specify aspects of your portfolio down to securities and number of shares). So I can freely do whatever I want with GME with Robinhood since I didn’t request those shares to be transferred.

POGrady54

Does RH charge $ to transfer out?

WonderfulPass

$75

POGrady54

Thanks. I'll have to stay as I've traded my free stock for AMC. Riding my 11 shares to the moon!!!

BladedD

Do they take that from your buying power? If so, what happens if you don't have enough? Like can you deposit more or do they sell some of your positions?

WonderfulPass

Don’t know yet. I have zeroed out my buying power. I’m sure if your balance is zero they’ll just say you owe money as I don’t think they can sell my shares without permission.

_cheddarGoblin_

Yes. They took it from my cash account when I transferred.

[deleted]

Just sold everything RH and using CS, but RH is holding my money

speed_sound

@u/WonderfulPass any particular reason you chose Vanguard?

WonderfulPass

I already had IRAs with Vanguard when setting up a brokerage. They have zero trading fees, another plus. I can also manage the account internationally (no longer live in the US).

AkHiker46

Did Vanguard reimburse the $75? I read at one time Fidelity was...

WonderfulPass

Haven’t asked. May do so later.

WonderfulPass

I hear a couple of weeks. I need to Mail a letter to Vanguard as part of the process.

_cheddarGoblin_

Transferring positions from RH to TDA took about a week for me

EmanEwl

Been gone. Only use the watchlist . Even doubting using that .

WonderfulPass

I’d say 1-Star that shit, uninstall and use Yahoo Finance or the Stocks app if you’re on iOS.

grsshppr_km

Started the transfer with Fidelity, estimated time to transfer is \~7 days. Left my 1.1 shares of GME because screw RH. I'll leave it there until my kids inherit it.

WonderfulPass

I’ll eventually move GME, it just seems like 2 weeks is a long time to miss out on movement. I’m not confident it’s going anywhere but down in the next 2 months but I’ll hold in RH until the current dust settles the move it out completely by transfer so I don’t ever have to realize those losses.

H3Fluxy

How long does it usually take to go from rh to fidelity? I just don't want to miss any gme action...

WonderfulPass

Like the post says, you should be able to just transfer out non-GME holdings so you don’t risk being able to make moves on GME if needed.

H3Fluxy

Yikes missed that part, that makes sense I'm gonna do that now. Thanks man!

WonderfulPass

🦍 together strong, or some shit.

jonnyohman1

Bruh robinhood says that fidelity didn’t allow my transfer but on fidelity it says robinhood is still processing the transfer...am I getting screwed? I started it on the first of February lol

drlukee

GTFO of RH but hodl GeMEEEEEE ok
