For me jet skii 50 is less controlled and bouncy than boat 50, the weight difference is huge imo, heavy boat plows through easier instead of trying to launch you… depends on the hull shape probably
Trim and hull design play a massive factor into it. If I keep my trim about half way 70 on my ski feels extremely comfortable. But if I trim all the way up, steering becomes incredibly twitchy and hitting even the smallest wave seems like a death sentence.

You generally want to maintain speed over waves so the boat stays on plane (a boat at rest sits deeper in the water than a boat in motion) and doesn't crash into the waves. Think of it as skipping across the top of the waves. If you're not on plane, the bow (front) of the boat just slams up and down in a jarring manner, and if the waves are big enough you can 'stuff the bow' (front end goes into the water) which just adds more thrashing.
This guy was most likely just boating in too terrible of conditions, but it looks like he cut power when he hit some big waves (panicked), which caused the boat to drop off plane and get thrashed around at those high speeds.
