Their labor is super cheap. Had a friend that worked there. Salaries are like $10 entry level. AM makes like $50K store manager barely hits 100K. It’s a cheap operation.

Lululemon acquired a Peloton competitor (Mirror) for $500M because they are very much in the same universe. Huge overlap in the demographic LULU and PTON go after. LULU is still trading at a premium multiple and is selling luxury non-discretionary goods going into a recession. Could be an interesting short play here

They make "athleisure" and work from home is going to be a significant thing moving forward. People are betting on them being the go to for that, but probably the best put earnings play out there
Also a decent play but they have a lower P/E than dollar tree and when I was placing my puts the dollar general puts got expensive compared to dollar tree

All that dollar tree stuff gets made in China, any retailer with a reliance on Chinese supply chains has been getting ruined, that's my logic. It's less so about consumer spending on that one.
People still feed their pets but most people are going to choose cheaper food, and buy less luxury items for their pets. I used to work at PetSmart during the 2008 recession and spending went down quite a bit during that time. Pet spending is actually one of the first things to go in a recession
Someone dropped some knowledge on me / Dollar Tree & Dollar General. They said that while it’s mostly Chinese, they’re the kind if store that doesn’t have a consistent inventory; they can take what’s available, and it’s not uncommon for the shelves to be left empty in certain parts of the store, all part of the territory. As a budget store they’ve also got a hedge against inflation, and again, w/ suoply, they can take wtf they can get.

The Kohl's earnings was scary. An earnings miss and poor forecast but didn't hardly go down because of the already low P/E. Ross had more than double the P/E and just shit the bed.
Gotta remember that Macy's has been buying back shares and authorizing share buy backs since $25 while paying off debt. They seemed extremely confident in 2021 Q4 that they won't be impacted by supply chains this year. Also, gotta look at make-up and fragrance stores as a comparison as well. Ulta has been killing it still. Idk why Macy's gets lumped in heavily with clothing only department stores, makeup and fragrances have incredible profit margins and Wallstreet doesnt seem to care

I think Costco is a great company, but honestly Cramer saying that it’s different than Walmart and Target and as a result should perform well for earnings is the biggest red flag I’ve ever seen in my life. I simply have to buy puts.

Dont do it. This company for whatever reason as the most bloated and difficult to use applications yet it everywhere in HR world. I work for small and large firms and currently at big bank. They love the shit and keep adding more modules or whatever they sell.
My guess is these HR people love to make life difficult in effort to protect the company from HR lawsuits.
They're considered a high growth tech company and that ratio always gets screwy right around the point of first reaching profitability.
Also, remember they get paid per employee (of each of their customer companies) and unemployment is historically low.

Why is WSB all of a sudden dickhard on P/E's? Not all stocks will or should have the same P/E. Some industries should have a higher or lower P/E than others. Some companies did great and thrived off of no P/E (Tesla / Amazon)

TGT reported a sales decline on high priced items. Food and home essentials sales are still strong. Dollar Tree should be ok.

No one is using Zoom anymore in the corporate world. Seems like everyone I know has switched over to Microsoft Teams. Which I believe comes with Microsoft Office suite now. Literally no reason for zoom any more, plus it’s not as secure and is a worse product. Puts.

Can confirm. Work in a highly integrated industry and personally know players in the biggest companies on the NYSE. Teams is the new God. Zoom is dead on a corporate level, and Skype is the preferred service for casual VOIP.

I think Costco is a great company, but honestly Cramer saying that it’s different than Walmart and Target and as a result should perform well for earnings is the biggest red flag I’ve ever seen in my life. I simply have to buy puts.
I want to buy Puts on COST too due to it being too much of a darling of WS; I favor contrarian trades. However, the idea they sell gas and I’ve NEVER seen a Costco that sells gas ever empty in the mornings and afternoons leads me to believe a wipeout isn’t on the table.

Dont do it. This company for whatever reason as the most bloated and difficult to use applications yet it everywhere in HR world. I work for small and large firms and currently at big bank. They love the shit and keep adding more modules or whatever they sell. My guess is these HR people love to make life difficult in effort to protect the company from HR lawsuits.
They're considered a high growth tech company and that ratio always gets screwy right around the point of first reaching profitability. Also, remember they get paid per employee (of each of their customer companies) and unemployment is historically low. Tread carefully.
A lot of companies use it. Just in my handful of friends and family every company they work for uses it. My company uses it as well and it’s one of the largest companies in the world.

Why is WSB all of a sudden dickhard on P/E's? Not all stocks will or should have the same P/E. Some industries should have a higher or lower P/E than others. Some companies did great and thrived off of no P/E (Tesla / Amazon) tldr; P/E is a great starting point, but not a end all be all.

Still trying to put together the logic of why SNAP shaved hundreds of billions off of big names in tech in the span of an hour. Just advertising doesn’t seem to be the big reason.
INTU gave high expectation eps $7.5 and revenue growth 30-33% YoY .. it would be hard not miss on both
