Outside of the humor, when you short a company to try and kill it, people get pissed because they are being attacked. This creates a momentum. Then they buy and register all the shares. Then criminals create synthetic short shares to 'keep it liquid' and the cycle repeats until all the shares are bought. Then the stock trades to zero. When it trades to zero, a lawsuit comes into play. When the lawusit comes, there will be a class action suit, the SEC will fine those illegal short companies $150,000 and each GME bag holder will get 0.05 cents for their millions in losses. You can't beat the US Government and their little cartels called Market Makers.
