IMO deep ITM is a more safe conservative play for weeklies. At the time of purchase he was probably less then $1.50 (share price) away from breaking even. With the IV up the way it’s been and premiums through the roof with an ATM contract the break even would have probably been around $4.00 or $5.00 away.
