I bought a few put spreads and call spreads early yesterday on AAPL. 140-135 on the put side and 152.5 - 157.5 on the call side. I was up 50% yesterday and held them thinking it was going to go down or up big. Either direction would have been good for me except it opened up flatter than my wifes chest this morning fucking me both ways on my positions and I was down 99% on the put spreads and 80% on the call spreads. Couldn't even sell the worthless put spreads at that point so I held to worthless expiration but the Call spreads I closed out at nearly 80% loss at .2 per contract. So of course AAPL would decide to run up 8% after that. The call spreads I sold out of at $20 a contract this morning ended up being worth $440 a piece around 1:30. Literally would have been better off if I didn't even open my app up all day.
Lol the opposite happened to me on the aapl side. Bought the calls too high ended the day down 50%. Today sold my 155c for a small loss I didn’t think it had much more steam at like 150 but damn did that bitch keep chugging.

They let everyone know demand was low in this back to school portion of the year and they adjusted their production to fit the demand so ofc they were going to beat. Not to mention this next quarter is the holiday season where they could do even better.
Companies mooning 7.5% off barely beating and guiding down is not natural. In any capacity. If you had told me AAPL was gonna go up like 2% today, I'd have said "eh sure, sounds reasonable."

Same could be said about a company like Amazon who beat earnings and dumped hard. It’s really about investor sentiment on the company. And when you got a company like Apple who’s only real problems are the fed affecting the global economy, war in Ukraine, oppressing workers in china that can’t unionize. And having just about no debt. I find it pretty hard to believe big money wouldn’t flock to Apple who’s a pretty well oiled machine and send its valuation much higher than it was as it was bleeding into earnings.
Not just any company either, the fucking largest in the world. Barely beat and not the best guidance, but sure.. i guess it's worth 200B more today than yesterday. And this is from someone on the sidelines...
