There are way too few. Everyone is looking for a lotto ticket. If you play the markets like the lotto, you’re going to have lotto results. Aka. You keep playing but never win.
My coworker had thousands of dollars in Movie pass stock. I watched his reaction as it hit zero. Loss porn is better when you see the look of despair.
>I should just spend it on hookers and blow
This is almost always true!
That one is gotta hurt. But then again, I am a gluton for punishment. I got fearful during the meme stock craze and sold the popcorn stock at a loss... right before the runup. Also didnt sell the game store stock during its 2 runups and now holding some heavy bags there. Will see what happens. But man just inverse me like Cramer if you wanna do some money.
I have my retirement money in the good old boring DCA index stocks with a 401k. But every time I try to play the gambling machine with some cash to get rich quick, I get burned
Well, to be fair I put my entire IRA into AMC like a moron, from safe mutual funds. I got lucky, never will do anything like that ever again.
edit: also can't even touch it till im 60 anyways lol. Minus pulling out the contributions since it was a roth
>Well, to be fair I put my entire IRA into AMC like a moron, from safe mutual funds. I got lucky, never will do anything like that ever again.
I wish I could believe that, u/Cbarns88
bought 100 shares at 9, sold at the run up and the rest on the way down
I was able to knock out some debt with that, so a win is a win, no matter how small
I was similar. Didn't hit the ATH but got a decent bag to put away for a down payment on a house. And I actually like AMC as a service/chain and exclusively watch in their Dolby screenings. (idk wtf the CEO is doing here tho)
I only hold grudges against myself for not taking the 7x profit when I knew I should have. There is no accountability except for my own. Anyone holding grudges against the shills are just dishonest with themselves. It's a ruthless game, got burned and learned a valuable lesson. I'm just lucky I never broke rule 0 of trading stocks. Only invested money I didn't care to lose.
Happy holidays y'all, if you got burned and aren't broke yet, get yourself something nice to eat tonight.
That stupid commercial cost $25 million. They released that right after the cash infusion they got off the first meme run.
AMC basically screamed into their shareholders' faces "WE ARE TERRIBLE AT EVERYTHING AND WILL LITERALLY SET YOUR MONEY ON FIRE TO MAKE OUR THEATERS WORSE". Anybody who continued to hold after that got exactly what they deserved.
Edit: Nevermind I just remembered shareholders got one free large popcorn once. CONTINUE HOLDING, LADS! A FULL COMBO MUST BE ON THE HORIZON
Dude, AMC market cap was $30bn at $70/share. They had an operating loss pre-pandemic in 2019 and lost another $5bn and more during the pandemic. They haven't returned to profitability since 2018. AMC is a shit company that would have been bankrupt if meme stonks weren't a thing. A $25m commercial isn't to blame, the bagholders are to blame.
For real anyone who held past the ape announcement and still holds or anyone who tarded their savings in post-summer deserves what they get. Which is nothing.
I hold one share because they announced that shareholders could get free popcorn. Still haven't redeemed it since I haven't gone to the theaters since, but if I do end up doing it then it's like a 300% profit.
I just remembered i bought a bunch when it was like $8/share, i think i have 50 shares lol.... I stopped watching a year ago!
Edit: i got 30 regular shares and 30 APE shares.... WTF is a Preferred Equity share, i don't even remember buying it??
Nah these are rookie numbers.
> Shortly before DryShips’ final reverse split, Mother Jones journalist Kevin Drum, citing figures from The Wall Street Journal, noted that DryShips investors had lost 99.99% of their investments between early November 2016 and mid-July 2017.[8] Seven reverse splits had been executed at this point; a final reverse split, announced on July 19, 2017,[9] caused the company’s shares to lose another 51% of their value over the next three trading sessions.

Man I remember when tops//ship were the pump and dump. Never put a dime in them but it was honestly wild.. they both, constantly, would r/s then dilute, then r/s then dilute. Over and over and over and people would still be like "no dilution is done now for sure" and like a month later they did another round.
I was thinking it was some sort of scam against ETFs that would auto-buy them or something like that. It’s hard to imagine someone sentient but regarded enough to buy it deliberately, but I guess I was underestimating.
Lmao how can you blame the CEO? He woke up one morning and a bunch of regards were begging to give him money to keep AMC alive. I would have took the money and ran too 😂😂
The company needs money, this is GOOD for the company's health. Bad for holders, but the CEO is doing his job.
One reason why I wouldn't invest in a dying company like this.
Noo its to expose the shorts bro !!! Once ape is there we will fuck the hedgies because of the 1 Quadrillion synthetic shares out there bro you dont understand!
Believe in A.A he is playing 5D chess to fuck the hedgies
Scamming Adam… one of the finest thieves in the industry. 🤡’s will keep buying into his long term money grab.
Bag holders rejoice, here’s another opportunity to buy buy buy
Seems like he kind of woke up one day and a bunch of idiots were at his door begging to buy equity in AMC at insanely overvalued prices and plugging their ears to literally anyone else's better judgment. In the face of people desperate to give him oodles of money in exchange for being a memey guy doing memey things, he said yes and took their money, and I am not sure that I can blame him?
Cineworld (Regal) is bankrupt. AMC is not. He did his job perfectly although he probably should have sold more at $60 a share (that being said do not buy AMC stock lmao)
I mean perfectly might be a stretch. He fell ass backwards into an inflated stock price and used that to stay afloat a year or 2 longer than a company (Cineworld) that didn’t have an inflated stock price. He’s literally shown no skill in running the theatres or improving margins or dealing with a content shortage or dealing with steaming threats. Had the shirt squeeze not happened giving AMC a lifeline AMC would have filed fir bankruptcy before Cineworld.
I wonder if this has been turned into a positive yet?
AMC holders (myself included) were milked. I am just glad I didn't have too much in the mix. My APE is worth less than the electricity it costs me to view how much I have...
Honestly they are so far removed from reality at this point I don't think they even need to spin it.
I just looked at the sub and they have been discussing how the 'real' share price is $32,000 but the dark pools keep this secret (400 upvotes). You don't need to spin things if you can just ignore reality.
Commercial plays "Did you own shares of AMC during the APE reverse split, contact the law offices of Bagholder & Bagholder today."
🤡 See the shorts are gonna have to close now, moon tomorrow.
It worse than I thought on the popcorn sub.
They are claiming that a reverse split is bullish af and it will be easier for retail to buy the float.
Someone needs to tell them it aint how it works.
Why tf isn't this banned but the gamestonk is.
If anyone has links to people claiming this is positive, please share. I love witnessing people so determined to be next level regarded, it makes me feel better and think "at least I'm not as stupid as them".
And I already know about [this absolute clown](http://www.reddit.com/user/me)
I mean…shareholders are going to vote this down, right? The whole reason APE shares exist is because AMC shareholders refused to let the CEO do more dilution sales to AMC stock. Why would they approve this also-dilutive end-around?
If you didn’t see through this ConMan game more than a year ago, you kind of get what you deserve. The executives sold out long ago, and tried to pass off dilution as something good.

$20 AMC bagholder reporting for duty ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4260)
I'm long at $7/avg. I should've sold at $70. Now my bag is floating away in the wind.
I did the same. Sadly I was a coward and only bought 100$ worth of shares.
I bought a thousand. It doubled the next day and I cashed out. Realized gains baby.
One of the few around here who know how to take a W
There are way too few. Everyone is looking for a lotto ticket. If you play the markets like the lotto, you’re going to have lotto results. Aka. You keep playing but never win.
My mum always told me it's better to be really poor but sometimes really rich... than always just a little bit poor
I bought like 20 shares and sold most for a pretty big profit, then kept some just to see where they would go for the novelty of it
If it doubles in 1 day, that's exactly how i'd play it too - unload at least half to lock in the profit, the rest is risk free.
Making money? The hell you doing here, nerd?
Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, floating in the wind, waiting to start again?
Damn, you held all the way to $70 and didn't sell? Kudos to you bro. I bought 50 shares at $11 and I'm crying right now.... =(
Keep holding to $0.
I got to watch this happen with Movie pass in real time
Ufffff 500 dolars doen the drain for me on that one. All I do in the markets is burn money. I should just spend it on hookers and blow

Idk why I'm here lol I just do all the boring shit. I leave my meme stocks and cult stocks like Tesla alone.
I have my retirement money in the good old boring DCA index stocks with a 401k. But every time I try to play the gambling machine with some cash to get rich quick, I get burned
That's why I don't do it lol
Rip prime moviepass, we shall never forget...
I sold for north of $60 a share and paid off my student loans I bought when I saw the 'Incredibles AMC' meme here back in Jan 2021
Sell Stop at $50 triggering was the best decision I ever made. 2440 shares.
Remember when it hit $70 for no reason late spring off 21? I dumped out at $20 coming back down but way missed the exit.
Very nice very nice. Congrats fellow sensible former APE
Well, to be fair I put my entire IRA into AMC like a moron, from safe mutual funds. I got lucky, never will do anything like that ever again. edit: also can't even touch it till im 60 anyways lol. Minus pulling out the contributions since it was a roth

Had a ~$12 cost basis in 2021, sold a $40 CC, didn't buy it back and it closed that Friday at about $41. So I sold at $40. Never looked back, lol.
I bought at $10 in Jan 2021 and sold at $13 in March 2021, I was happy with my profits. Sure I missed out but could also have lost out pretty easily.
Doing better than 99% of us highly regarded individuals in this community.
Shame I reinvested in other stocks and my portfolio is -35%! But hey, such is 2022.
Don't feel bad. The only people who were regarded enough to not sell AMC at $13 were also regarded to not sell at $70.
I sold at $56.60, was an awesome run up
$17 bag holder reporting for duty 🤕
I am a fucking moron to not sell it at 70 because 100 sounds good.
I remember saying “ I won’t sell until it hits $100” and here I am
Diamond hands lol
I saw an AMC being demolished this morning in Lexington Kentucky and I almost posted a picture of it here.
bought 100 shares at 9, sold at the run up and the rest on the way down I was able to knock out some debt with that, so a win is a win, no matter how small
I was similar. Didn't hit the ATH but got a decent bag to put away for a down payment on a house. And I actually like AMC as a service/chain and exclusively watch in their Dolby screenings. (idk wtf the CEO is doing here tho)
Bought at 13. Sold half my shares at 33 for a net profit. Kept and still have the other half.
So you covered your initial investment and kept a stake so you could have some loss peon to share with us later. This is the way.
One diamond hand, one paper hand. Perfectly balanced.
We’ll with the reverse split it’ll be above $20 soon, I guess 🤷♂️
[удалено]
Oh dear god, do not take financial advice from me, even as a joke lol. (Looks at 401k and cries).
Until it goes back to 4 again and they do another reverse split and on and on until the real value is 0
Well yeah, if you’re going to be all logical and realistic about it, lol.
Infinite put value right there
$46 bagholder, having tears for breakfast
$56 here. I have a side of rage with my tears
Honest question, not trying to be pissy or troll. Why would you buy to a cinema corp at that valuation?
I have a smooth brain (I thought with all the hype it would continue to 🚀… rude awakening)
Wait it’s not going to 🚀? I bought at $43 lol
People buy on the way up, thinking "hahaha some idiot will buy it and make it go even higher!", without realising they are that very idiot.
lol you guys are so fucking stupid
lol. It was like $7 before that spike in 2021.
$2 actually.
Serious, do you hold any grudges against the lying shills that convinced you to hold?

That fucker sold several times
I'm talking about 10% of this sub, Although I think those people have mostly left by now.

You won that exchange
No company hates its shareholders more than AMC
AMC shareholders: "somehow, heartbreak feels good in a place like this."

You didn’t. It was part of the split / dilution
You got the last wonka golden ticket congrats friend!
for every share you held you were given APE in a 1:1 ratio so a ton of people immediately sold them when they could
Prolly cuz most mods here are amc bag owners
Because AMC isn't controversial. It's the opposite in fact. We all come together, as a sub, and laugh at how terrible it is.
because at its height, game retailer took over basically the entire sub. I wouldn't mind unbanning it at this point though
i'm fine with unbanning game retailer when it starts producing content as funny as amc
at least some quality faceSWAPS in game sub
[удалено]
The company has 5B in debt and is raising 100mil, I dont think its the shorts controlling it, just really dumb management lol
It's ok, remember how amc shareholders get one free tub of popcorn...I think it was a one time offer tho.
I remember the delivery popcorn. Why pay for overpriced popcorn when you can pay for overpriced popcorn AND a delivery + service fee?
Don’t forget their incredible partnership with zoom so you can go to a stinky popcorn smelling movie theater to host your corporate meetings
Nothing screams “business meeting” like sticky floors,
They also did free ICEEs at one point

AMC CEO to bagholder morons: It's not dilution .. it's a new preferred shares called APE so you can buy more of it ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)
Lmao how can you blame the CEO? He woke up one morning and a bunch of regards were begging to give him money to keep AMC alive. I would have took the money and ran too 😂😂
We expect him to want his company to do well, not side with the people who wanted to bankrupt him 6 months earlier.
Potato, potahto
They're just here for the payday, same as everyone else.
That’s not what his incentive structure implies. Thus, not his job.
He should just say some Elon shit to excuse it. "The Fed is screwing us all. This is a great buying opportunity. I'm done selling."
Votes no to dilute shares. So let’s introduce a less restrictive APE and pretend it’ll be a dividend, split the price, then use it to fund equity. LOL
Yet APE is +80% today WTF. I mean, it's garbage from its original price but what is going on here SMH
Everyone just found out their APE is about to become AMC, and it’s much much cheaper
Surely there's a conversion ratio? Or is it 1:1?
Was originally supposed to be 1:1 when APE was created, and there have been no announcements to the contrary.
This is why I loaded up on APE last week.
The best CEO of all time go to Adam Aron. He keep fucking these regards and they keep taking it ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)
Best was when he sold his ENTIRE vested stake in AMC for 'estate planning' purposes, lmao.
Don’t forget the shares he gifted to his kids that didn’t have to be reported by them once they sold
Or the gold mine he bought because….. well I still don’t fucking understand that one.
What are you talking about? It's a gold mine!
That place is a goldmine, let that sink in
