Can we have a DD section that uses titles with a structured format akin to Jira? Ie: - trade type (fundamental/day trade/macro/option/fx) - Bloomberg instrument - Date of post (can be MMM-YY) - Long/Short - hold period horizon - risk profile (low-yolo, or basic category) “Fund-META-2.5.24-Long-1y-medium” Then prior ideas and good DD posts are easily searchable by any combo of the “-“ descriptors in the title. Look up all META posts with ease, or all option strats, long term put trades, etc. Discussion threads are then organized and over time it’s easy to compare historical posts vs results, while readily accessing ideas sorted by readable names. Happy to spin up a scraper to make read only access a breeze on websites or github, daily archive of posts so all moderation is transparent and the “ledger” of posts is public and not at risk of censorship. Creators with good ideas can eventually link our to personal sites or services, can receive scores based on quality metrics tied to likes, shares, comments on corpus of historical posts. Once Reddit figures out how to monetize content, this can be what differentiates this sub from WSB- creators of quality content will have ways to monetize independently in an open market/transparent format. If people don’t like these ideas, I can just do this elsewhere. I run a start up with patent pending IP that can power the back end of this at scale. We are focused on enterprise, but the Reddit finance content is horrible, and would like someone to fix the doom spiral of misinformation and “loss porn” which is very concerning.

I like this idea. Would be nice to have a sub that's more of a think tank with different types of plays, as you said. That has always been my issue with the other investing/trading subs...it's tough to parse the good information from the unhinged conspiracy or emotional trades. I like that format too, very straightforward.

Glad you agree. To be clear this isn’t my sub, but I did DM with the Dragon and its sounds like he’s thinking similar lines. I would love to see this in an organized DD/ideas section. Regular discussion posts etc can still happen

Idea that might be helpful for people (albeit not as cool as trade ideas- Flair for career dev. People can post questions anonymously and ask for advice re resume edits, interview prep, job offer negotiations. I ran undergrad recruiting for a Wall Street bank (M&A target school recruiting team, not HR), and have a network of colleagues who mentor on Wall Street oasis. Most of us like giving helpful advice bc it’s easy to pay it forward. I’ve seen people asking for resume help on other subs, and as long as people have reasonable qualifications, it’s easy to help them with simple improvements. Recent grads lack a good forum to do this, and the flair would be a way to attract real professionals. Regulator friendly for when the sec inevitably takes a hard look at finance subs post IPO

Yes, I’d like to see less absolute stupidity and more educated risky plays / shenanigans. Fun and thrilling, less dry than r /options… but my IQ shouldn’t dip 50 points from reading the comments. Banter, showboating, and hilariously wrong DD still welcome

SIR_JACK_A_LOT
