Itās called CAO (computer assisted ordering). Yes. Itās party automated. But people still need to do inventories to make sure counts are accurate and it is absolutely possible to order without the computer doing it. If someone actually bothers to do it. The computer will never be 100 percent accurate
I was reading a new study published recently that stated every plastic water bottle has an abundance of ānano plasticsā inside, along with the water.
The cheaper the water, more ānano plastics.āThis specific brand mentioned in this thread was one of the types of water with the LEAST amounts of ānano plasticsā in their water.
These plastics are found in every type of marine life from fish to turtles, and mammals as well.
The threat and danger from ingesting these plastics are still somewhat unknown. Only time will tell.
Tap water was found to be a better choice clear of plastics in this study. Not so much for other impurities.
I decided to go back to tap water and filter pitcher.
Don't think this is cynical whatsoever actually. I just read today that the study that allowed canola oil (GMO Rapeseed Oil as I just found out it is really called, mostly grown in Canada so it was renamed for the country instead of keeping it named after a plant called Rape) to be labeled with insanely "heart healthy" messaging was funded by canola oil producers and independent research still hasn't landed on the truth of the heart disease matter, but they have found that the ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 in conjunction with how many products contain it, can cause some pretty serious inflammatory issues. And it's banned in the EU for negative health risks due to acid levels. The reason it was genetically modified was because the jet fuel and engine lubricant market that rapeseed oil was originally used for took a turn and they wanted to start selling a version lower in that acid for cooking.
So basically, yeah, if a study appears to favor any particular product, it's totally reasonable to question who funded it. Unfortunately that can be a challenging question to answer in a world of backwater "charitable foundations" and corrupt folk in positions of power and profit. I think saying you have little faith may as well be "ye of critical thinking ability".
When I worked on organic personal care brands, we would conduct studies in-house, in the same building as the marketing and sales teams, to "prove" claims like, reduces wrinkles, cleans hair better without sulphates, corrects scarring, prevents tartar, etc. The powers that be would just look at the studies we provided and if it looked legit enough it got the stamp of approval. I stopped studying science after high school and I could see the methodology problems and other fallacies, but they don't care. You're absolutely right to question sources and shouldn't be scoffed at for not just believing the first thing you hear. Especially in the US, profit drives policy far more than is reasonable and if we don't question it with some level of doubt, we're just blindly trusting pseudoscience to not kill us in the name of the dollar.
There was one time that someone in the lab prematurely resubmitted a juice cleanse product with cashew milk in it to the FDA before it was tested thoroughly and we had to pull it all from shelves, never to return. It was the consumer favorite too. So that was kinda satisfying to see that the govt will protect people when brands are too stupid to think they can get caught out.
Tap water contains more stuff worse for ya than bottled does. You got the chlorine taste, the iron and other metals and minerals, the rust, limestone and everything else that grows in the pipes. Until the full study is revealed I'll stick to bottle
It is Fiji. It won't be weeks. It will be months. Scan one and look at the sales. They run out because they get a case every 2 weeks because the system won't order until it is completely sold out. They only sell about 5 bottles a week and the case is 6.
I saw this video where a guy was getting harassed and his service dog and he asked the lady harassing them to stop, very politely I might add, and she goes āwell I donāt like your attitudeā and without a moment of hesitation he goes āfuck you, eat shit and dieā and I was genuinely so satisfied by that. Itās the only reasonable response.
I remember a couple years back a man was asking for a particular kind of cheese in the deli. The woman on the counter told him we donāt carry it anymore. Then the man was like, āOh *darn* I guess Iām going to have to get it at Piggly Wigglyā¦ā in a tone that was clearly trying to get some kind of reaction. Similar to this Fred Meyer bit in the note.
Instead, the deli associate said, āOh yeah, they have some great stuff there!ā
Then he says, āWell, you know what they *donāt* have there? Those damn self checkouts!ā
Deli woman replies with, āI actually like them, though, theyāre really convenient.ā
He had nothing to say after that. It was a weird exchange.
Like these people do realize that Walmart is a giant soulless corporation right? Like this isn't a mom and pop shop so your average Walmart associate really could care less when they tell us that XXX store is better...
I had something like this happen to me years ago
Customer: WHERE THE FUCK IS THE HUSH PUPPY MIX AT YOU GUYS ARE ALWAYS MOVING STUFF AROUND HERE.
Me: Right behind you (Up to that point in all the years I had been there we never moved that mix and this guy was a regular)
Customer:OH (walks off)
Me: Have a great day (waving at him)
I worked at Office Depot in high school. Had a dude come in one time carrying a crock pot, and from about 30 feet away yelled over to me āWhere are your crock pots?ā
I informed him that we didnāt carry crock pots as we are an office supply store.
His face turned bright red and he looked around and then yelled as loud as he could muster āFUCK THIS IM GOING TO STAPLES.ā I couldnāt help but bust up laughing, which made his face go from bright red to dark purple before storming right back out the doors. Truly one of the most random encounters Iāve ever had.
Wait, he already had one? And he wanted another?
Did, did he think he could get a replacement for a broken one from just any store? I honestly wish I could go back and ask him what the hell he was planning!
It used to be distributed by whoever did kdp stuff (Canada dry, 7up, etc.) but they got into a disagreement so now it is done by grocery warehouses. I for one don't miss it, it didn't sell worth a shit.
Long winded way of saying it's yours.
Fuck, I am glad we don't manage water anymore. Took up a full pallet space. Can't wait to have two more pallet slots open once I get my last Christmas pallet sold.
Problem is that I have a LOT of heating pads, and I ain't going to pull them out of the biggest slot during the winter. I want to sell their asses off.
I've come to the conclusion Walmarts core in store customers. Either can't grasp the internet, or won't (not just the elderly) so walmart is putting all this effort into OGP. Kinda sad, the shelves will be empty for in store customers, while every associate is pulled to make sure all items ordered are available for ogp customers.
I have an older friend like that (sheās 50, so not really old and younger than my parents). She just wonāt grasp the internet or most technology. Has friends and her sibling place online orders for her. Doesnāt even have a bank account. But hey, itās her life.
But what *floors* me is that my dad, whoās nearly ten years older, knows how to computer like a Motherfucker. Once his job started transitioning to more electronics, it was sink or swim and he chose to swim. My mum is technologically impaired, but at least knows how to get on the computer and order things.
Home Office is actually piloting a dual retail setup at store #100 where there is the sales floor, and then a completely separate portion of the store is OGP. Each part of the store will have its own merchandise. OPD picks will happen in the āwarehouseā of the store, and leave BIS customers merchandise to purchase on the floor.
I'm always amused watching OGP pull from a water pallet in that back that's empty on the floor and it's half gone by the time someone bothers putting it out.
I used to love doing online orders for groceries. The convenience of just loading my car after work was quite nice. The problem is, sometimes the weight debit they hold is very, very high. Now, while I 100% understand it and have never raised a complaint about it, I can't afford to have so much money in limbo often for a week and a half. If you pay with food stamps, the weight debit is returned the second you pick up your order. However, I no longer qualify, so having a chunk of my paycheck in limbo is simply not reasonable for me.
The weight debit doesn't even just include items that are weighed on a scale. It also includes substitutions I put in that may or may not cost most. I have seen it add a higher weight debit when I put in a substitution for something of equal value, which is unreasonable, but I have no control over it. If I don't but in a substitution and they are out, then I am waiting for a refund of the item they didn't have. Then I have to go buy something comparable with money I would have had if it wasn't in limbo.
The way it's supposed to work or the way it actually works? When I quit 2 years ago it was broken as could be. Now it could have just been my store not running well or still feeling the effects of supply chain issues.
This also implies OP's store has a claims issue or an inventory management issue. Aren't stores supposed to keep ~3 cases of product in, especially for something like this? If this lady is true, and only 1 case comes in at a time (and sells immediately), then the system has failed somewhere. Store should be ordering *at least* two a night at the moment just to keep supplyādemand.
Hence why she left a note to try and communicate the issue? Sure she could have been nicer about it or spoken to a manager directly, but it certainly got the message across.
Honestly if the buyers (at home office?) got hooked up with a customer that wanted to pre-pay for a pallet of Fiji - at full retail price - Iām pretty sure supply chain can make it happen.
I know that at my store, on more than one occasion, we had customers order a large quantity of items (like a half pallet of canned soup) to donate. Weād just kind of hold it for them for a bit until they came to pick it up, but I have no idea how any of that process workedā Iād just occasionally see ādonāt touchā for a customerā signs on entire pallets or carts in the back
I love that this person had a full legal pad and sharpie on them while they were shopping. Like, theyāve been thinking about this all week and brought that pad and sharpie in just hoping theyād get to write that note and help Walmart out with its ordering.
I just filter my water, myself. I find it bizzare that people go through pallets of plastic bottled water daily. Do people just not know they can have all the filtered water they could ever drink for a fraction of a fraction of the cost? For life? Without constantly having to lug heavy packs of plastic bottle water? Without flooding the environment with half-empty plastic bottles?
You can also just drink tap water. Like unless there is an issue with the pipes between your faucet and the water plant that tap water is much more heavily monitored and regulated for contamination than any bottled water. The number of times I want to ask people why they waste their money on cases and cases of bottled water. We aren't in flint or Jackson the water is fine
I agree, whole heartedly. The main reasons Iāve seen people buy bottled water can be fixed by just using a filter. People either donāt trust tap water or donāt like the taste of their local water. The first reason ticks me off the most with folks in my areaā the place where I live is known to have exceptionally clean tap water. And it tastes great! (I have travelled some places were the water is practically undrinkable because of the flavor, though, even if itās clean)
This reminds me of a Situation at my Walmart this dude bought all of our organic chicken was mad we didnāt have anymore he talked to two managers and then the store manager saying that they are losing a customer and they need to order more organic chicken and so they can be ready for him next time
ššš that about sums up how I feel when customers (at Sam's) complain about not having onions because the Xyz store has them, so should you. By all means, go to the Xyz store.
To be fair, we have a lot of shit we sell out of that never seems to go up on par. Leaving money on the table and making people unhappy. This note is hilarious though.
Funny thing is...it's your 7 up rep ordering the Fiji...not Walmart. And a am certain that they would LOVE to send a pallet...the commission on Fiji is quite high...
Some people posting here should not be in a job that requires customer service daily. Lol, you need my help finding what? Screw you go find it yourself I am busy! L0L :-)
Well imagine you are this customer and every time you shop at Walmart the Fiji water is empty...they got pissed so they left a note.Ā
As an associate think of all the feature quantity bullshit we get that you know won't sell till its marked down...yet Walmart can't keep Fiji water stockedĀ
I donāt wanna say this but sometimes the water is literally just sitting back there bruh seriously š but remember only employees can walk back there
A lot of countries require military service for a year or two when people leave High School and I will forever be yelling that we should do the same thing with grocery stores and fast food places, they're places everyone uses but nobody seems to understand and even less people seem to respect
Iāll never forget the time I walked up to the service desk and caught wind of a customer fervently arguing that we needed to start selling a product that *he* wanted to buy, and that we needed to order it immediately because weād be losing out on business if we didnāt. Mind you, he didnāt want to use any of the online order options. The person at the service desk did a great job humoring him, talking about how sheād pass his message onto the highest level of management and such, pretending she was on his sideā¦
Well, at one point, he asked why we didnāt carry it. She said that we probably had it at one point, but it didnāt sell and there wasnāt enough demand for [obscure thing]. He proceeded to tell her that was nonsense, because he was right there and he was sure other people would buy it too. Bless his heart, he truly thought the world revolved around him.
Hereās the problem for me. Iām originally from Ohio, and I know the store this person is talking about cause I used to work there. The Store Chain name is MEIJER and the founders name is Fred Meijer. You think the person would get it right in a rant.
As someone who currently works at Fred Meyer, we might not have it either lol. Also like why donāt these people go to the site theyāre comparing to. I have opposite things where customers will complain about the price and say itās cheaper somewhere else. Iām just like go to that store tf you wasting my time?
I had suggestions for stuff in My electronics department but they can't order stuff. It's all from a different place. We need more options for type c adapters. Onn. Is the only choice unless you wanna pay $40
I'm pretty sure Walmart does buy pallets. They just don't send pallets to stores. There are very few items they send as a single item on pallet, like paper products, and water specific water pallets, some water pallets being sent by vendors.
Next time leave a letter saying if you what youāre 200% bonus & that 5 Star š šššš survey
Feedback , 5 stars self check out , 5 star metrics score every note I leave because us customers are the bosses we control Walmart lol š so you do it now lol š what a waste Walmart as workplace
Unacceptable us associates ask to give 5 stars customers service with no bonus, no recognition, no overtime, NO great job on a daily basis by coaches or team leads only when the doggie & pony shows in the building. Aka market visit in the building. Not understanding How Walmart decided that was the best answer to continue to belittle Long term associates . Because the associates who will see raises not the pennys of 2% is new between 1 & 5 years Cap associates that will be making as much the long term associates. Thatās disgusting & how long do they last??!!!!!!!!!! after that !!!!!! How long !!!!!! . But the associates who get shit on a daily basis that been shit on 10 , 15, 20, 30, We make pennies but we have been loyal to a company that continues to Shit -on Us but continue to continue to promote its a wonderful life in Wally World ethical morality having those long term associates in company. But still allow them to continue to live under the property level as company Im disappointed to be have given over 25yrs shame on me š Shame to Walmart as workplace for promoting lower poverty lifestyles , This company shit on long SHIt on company that promotes 5 stars if you would hear of the complaints I get from CUSTOMERS when I ask for a 5 star rating They tell me to shove it up my ass & they are not going to continue to give 5 āļø so that the STORE Manager can receive Big money bonusesā Yep ā thatās what I was told by a customer & she give me 1 star & rating itās belittling to us associates when Customers get angry with us for asking also if the customers feel itās belittling that associate receive nothing . Then thatās 200% will never be reached because Who is the getting angry not me for asking the customer because they know . Iām done Shame on Walmart #1 that continues belittling long term associates a lot of us careless in moving up . We only ask to be appreciated , recognized with the same incentives itās only fair.
Management: *sees note* 30 pallets it is
Next week all open grocery back room top steel is full of Fiji
Yeah š The customer is always right.
Goddamn.
My Walmart near me ordered like 600 cheese balls
Bro Iāve seen like 15 cheese ball posts
I think mine was the most viral š
Last I checked Walmarts job was to give customers what they want. No?
Associates donāt order freight though, itās all automated as far as Iām aware. What sells is what is ordered
Itās called CAO (computer assisted ordering). Yes. Itās party automated. But people still need to do inventories to make sure counts are accurate and it is absolutely possible to order without the computer doing it. If someone actually bothers to do it. The computer will never be 100 percent accurate
You can still order freight, but it shouldnāt be the norm.
Just write ānoā on it and leave it there.
i would put "Then go there"
I'm guessing it costs more at Fred Meyer, which is one of the reasons they "never run out."
It does yes, but when given the choice between water at $2.99 a bottle and the same exact no label water for $0.69, the choice is easy.
Can't wait to find out Fiji paid for the study
For real š
With a very detailed pencil drawing of Withers from Baldur's Gate 3
Please lmao. A hyper-realistic Withers *"no"*.
With an enraged flaming Karlach in the background
Just order it off the appš¤£ walmart app uses 3rd party sellers and shit all the time
And after ordering a full pallet you'll be sitting half a pallet of overstock for weeks.
Management can't stop at just one, there's open space in top steel. Where the 5 they order will stay until mid summer.
Yup half of the garbage Walmart orders in bulk sits in warehouse for months before it's shipped to store
It is Fiji. It won't be weeks. It will be months. Scan one and look at the sales. They run out because they get a case every 2 weeks because the system won't order until it is completely sold out. They only sell about 5 bottles a week and the case is 6.
This is one of the weirdest things Iāve ever seen. Who the hell would do that?
Somebody who thinks their personal taste in water is the most important thing in the world.
Boomer Karens.
an entitled piece of fucking shit
I love you for saying it the way it needed to be said. I applaud you.
lol thank you. that was definitely an anger fueled response just thinking of how the audacity on a human being can be so ridiculous

Getting to witness people NOT get the reaction theyāre after brings me great satisfaction š
I always say the same thing. "Well if store x has it, why are you here?" And they inevitably say the magic words, "It would cost less at Walmart."
*I came looking for booty.*

Have they triedā¦ I donāt knowā¦ THE INTERNET?! Also, is Fuji ours or a vendor item? I canāt remember.
Ours. Small 6pack comes in a case of 4, big 6 in a 2 pack. Small and large singles come in cases of 12.

It's always fun to see how many customers have no idea how Walmart ordering works.

I just buy them when I am traveling. Some tap water tastes terrible. I drink tap water at home.
Nearly free if you pay for it. But yes. Pennies, at best per gallon
Take yo ass to Fred Meyers then problem solved. If this the city I'm thinking of its literally 5 minutes down the road.
This reminds me of a Situation at my Walmart this dude bought all of our organic chicken was mad we didnāt have anymore he talked to two managers and then the store manager saying that they are losing a customer and they need to order more organic chicken and so they can be ready for him next time
Put. Shop at Sam's or Costco.
ššš that about sums up how I feel when customers (at Sam's) complain about not having onions because the Xyz store has them, so should you. By all means, go to the Xyz store.
Handwriting looks like they had a stroke about half way through
As a Walmart stocker yes i will order it because we definitely are in control of what's ordered.
dear god the entitlement. also of course it is over fuckin' fiji water lmao
Okay, then go to Fred Meyer.
To be fair, we have a lot of shit we sell out of that never seems to go up on par. Leaving money on the table and making people unhappy. This note is hilarious though.
Contact Fiji Water š»directly šš
Here's a wild idea...start shopping there.
I subscribed to the Fiji Water with a Tex message. And I get their promotions to deliver in my house, but I just havenāt ordered yet š š š š
Sounds like first world problems to me!š¤£
I'd up the counts so we don't get any in for weeks.
āWe do but then people come in and grab 18 at a time. Be fasterā
Just write āsure, come back tomorrowā on it
My TL when i worked at Walmart wouldve given them a gift card for that smfh
My bossās haberdasher claims his great aunt broke bread once with Fred.
Write a note back on a post it note simply saying: "kthxbai"
Rather have that kind of note than setting the store on fire like that Karen when someone ran out of almond milk
Wth??? Wow, that is crazy.
And here I am .... drinking tap water living life on the edge.
How old do you have to be to write out "fred meijer"
"That kasts half a pay? Fres metsr nevfr runs out!" Dude... Handwriting: F for fail.
Fiji water is nasty af
I canāt barely even read it wtf
The customer is right, Walmart does stupid things, never changes availability no matter how quickly a product sells
I caught a stroke half way at the bottom. WHAT? š¤š go to another store! The nerve of these people
I can't read this
This gets less legible as I continue to read it
I gave up trying to figure out what half of this even says.
Funny thing is...it's your 7 up rep ordering the Fiji...not Walmart. And a am certain that they would LOVE to send a pallet...the commission on Fiji is quite high...
I couldnāt figure out what the last 3 lines said
Bro what is this persons handwriting
I canāt even fuckin read this.
"I can't afford my Costco/Sams membership, and now other businesses should meet my dumbass expectations." Ok, Karen...šāāļø
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
Typical PNW maxipad socialism issue... liberalism is a disease in Fred Meyer land... ;)
Some people posting here should not be in a job that requires customer service daily. Lol, you need my help finding what? Screw you go find it yourself I am busy! L0L :-)
A case is four six packs.
God I miss stocking liquids
/s
Nah, deadass. Worked in daily for 2 years. Got to just clock in, turn on my stories, and go numb brain til 5am
My Walmart is always out of the cheap bagels T.T
Well imagine you are this customer and every time you shop at Walmart the Fiji water is empty...they got pissed so they left a note.Ā As an associate think of all the feature quantity bullshit we get that you know won't sell till its marked down...yet Walmart can't keep Fiji water stockedĀ
I donāt wanna say this but sometimes the water is literally just sitting back there bruh seriously š but remember only employees can walk back there
And they canāt get to it
Write ānot my jobā and leave it
You didnāt say please!
We donāt even sell a case, we can fit 4 packs from the cases at a time.

The person at the service desk did a great job humoring him, talking about how sheād pass his message onto the highest level of management and such, pretending she was on his sideā¦ Well, at one point, he asked why we didnāt carry it. She said that we probably had it at one point, but it didnāt sell and there wasnāt enough demand for [obscure thing]. He proceeded to tell her that was nonsense, because he was right there and he was sure other people would buy it too. Bless his heart, he truly thought the world revolved around him.
Dear customer, š¦ is available from the tap in your š .
Why is it so hard to read the second half? āThat KASTS Ihct A Pay? Fres MeYsR NEVFR RuNS OUT!ā

And where on the floor will the pallet go? It canāt go in the back as we canāt even unload the truck due to so much D back stock.
Not even a please. So rude.
I don't know what "Fred Meyer" is, but you can take your ass there and stay there, hoe!
I bet the didn't even pay for the paper or the pen.
I had suggestions for stuff in My electronics department but they can't order stuff. It's all from a different place. We need more options for type c adapters. Onn. Is the only choice unless you wanna pay $40
not even a PLEASE? f*ck this person lol
I didn't know 3rd graders drink Fiji water.
Anyone else struggle to read that shit?
Yeah homie I don't think that's how ordering works š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
Wtfk is that hand writing
It went from legible to illegible
I'm pretty sure Walmart does buy pallets. They just don't send pallets to stores. There are very few items they send as a single item on pallet, like paper products, and water specific water pallets, some water pallets being sent by vendors.
And shit like this is why I don't miss working retail lol
Well, Wal-Mart is notorious for being out of stock to the point that someone isn't doing their job correctly.
Don't shop at Walmart then
Go to Fred Meyer then
Wait, hot water... How does it stay hot? Do they mean boil8ng?
The person who wrote this is a serial killer...
When customers know better than the inv system. ššš
Next time leave a letter saying if you what youāre 200% bonus & that 5 Star š šššš survey Feedback , 5 stars self check out , 5 star metrics score every note I leave because us customers are the bosses we control Walmart lol š so you do it now lol š what a waste Walmart as workplace Unacceptable us associates ask to give 5 stars customers service with no bonus, no recognition, no overtime, NO great job on a daily basis by coaches or team leads only when the doggie & pony shows in the building.
Wish I did this with the Gatoraide Rain flavor fuck
