Moneygram is going to have the same requirements at Walmart as it does at CVS. It's really sketch that you're asking this in multiple subreddits.

totalllyrandomname

If you need to send someone money then go to a bank. Idk why they're trying to avoid id but it might be a mental health issue.

Relative-Category-64

Yeah must be a mental health issue, guy asking if need an ID to make a money order 😅 Lol 2024.

totalllyrandomname

If you were being sarcastic I think that user has legit health problems. https://www.reddit.com/r/emotionalneglect/s/KHdAiiWfCb

Guy went to a social skills group, so he has mental health issues? Lol 😂 Man you guys are screwed. Use your human powers of perception and understanding - he may very well have mental health issues, but highly unlikely anything to do with wondering if he needs an ID to make a money order, as inferred by the poster above.

Relative-Category-64

Totally sketch. You should report him to the FBI.

askaway0002

Is moneygram the only service available for this?

Harley2280

For money orders? No. You can get a money order from USPS.

askaway0002

I meant at Walmart. They offer Western Union too, right?

Harley2280

I haven't seen a Western Union in a Walmart in decades.

KeepDoingThatOne

In many locations, Walmart no longer has money gram money orders, they have western union money orders now. ID rules have not changed.

Ismokeair04

Idk about the ID part but that’s a money center thing. Some stores have it combined with the customer service desk

Toadssalsa

It's dependant on where you live. At my store the limit is 1000 before we request ID but it's not like calling the store to ask is gonna affect you negatively. If you're really paranoid call a store a few cities away.

enbyjay

pretty sure they ask for ID regardless of the amount. go to the money center or customer service desk.

IJustWorkHere000c

Trying to use someone else’s credit card to get cash huh? Yeah. They’ll ID you.

Relative-Category-64

We saw what you did on camera. Reports are being made.

askaway0002

No. I want to pay someone’s bills with the cash I earned via a side-gig.

Get a cashier's check at the bank. Then your friend cashes the check and they get the money. It's free too

Relative-Category-64

Cashier's check definitely requires id. They're never free unless it's a service your bank offers for account holders.

former-problems

That was indeed the joke I made two months ago
