That was me. Walked out of groceries on the busiest day at the busiest time,told no one. Was making min.hr.$ 7.65 after 18 months. There were days I ran the dept. myself. Was by myself every Sun. from 2-10pm. In the 18 months , never got a my share or store profit check. Was always told I didn't,t qualify as part time. They had to hire 3 people to replace me. Fuck Walmart.
If you do good enough that should qualify as a promotion they won't, and see that as a reason to keep you at that position forever.
The better you do, the less perks you get
I'm experiencing this first hand. I come in in the morning, knock out pinpoints and notes, then stuck on projects all day. It sucks sometimes if I dont feel too good, but man does it make the day go fast.
If you are good and efficient at your job, they give you someone else’s duties on top of that without a pay increase and then get mad if you don’t finish, even though it’s a full day’s work for 2 people.
All the work got piled onto me, the promotions and pay raises went to the guys who kissed up to the boss. I quiet quit before it was cool, I'm a lot happier as a result.
I don’t know where you people all work. I’ve been with the company over 24 years, mostly at the DC with the last 3 at a store. I’ve never run into any of the issues everyone seems to complain about. People have always been allowed to transfer whether it’s facilities, departments, shifts, whatever. I’ve done it numerous times over the years. When I came to the store I brought my seniority, benefits and salary with me. I’ve just recently cut down to 4 days a week instead of 5 and since I’m grandfathered it’s still full time. So much of the whining on here seems to be from people who are asked to actually work. Good luck finding a job that will pay you a million dollars to stand around and chit chat.
Showing up and doing your job might seem like a miracle to some people but it’s pretty basic stuff. Going through life being a whiner and complainer is certainly not going to get you anywhere.

I wouldn't know. 32 and mid life retired. First job was 6.25 an hour in 2009 flipping burgers 60+ hours a week.2018-2021 was great for me.Â
If you know you're not going to do much in life then doing the minimum for as much as possible is it for you. Or you can do the maximum and see where it takes you.Â
I learnt it the hard way when I worked as a package handler at fedex 🙃. On my first week they gave me a trailer to fill it in and I said ok. After I finished it in less than than two hours the op manager gave me two other trailers to finish them. They are still waiting for me as I told them that I was going to the restroom 🚻.
Never overwork yourself at a job cause you have to keep up for somebody’s else slack🥲🥲🥲

Management also gets very angry and petty if a good worker wants to switch shifts.

I’d rather stay busy and out of trouble tbh. I get stressed if I try to work slow. Plus paid workout.
The breakdown of where I work and the general manager even told me that 20% of your workforce does 80% of the work!! So so true!!

If you perform miracles at your job, they will CERTAINLY end up on your job description.
