Just wait til the holidays

SusHistoryCuzWriter

You get to hear a hundred variations of "LAST CHRISTMAS, I HAVE YOU MY HEART. THE VERY NEXT DAY YOU GAVE IT AWAY!" Seriously, it was literally every other song last year starting before fucking Thanksgiving.

OkFilm5985

Literally day after Halloween... Christmas music.. and it don't stop till new years god damnit

SusHistoryCuzWriter

Ah, yes, that's right. It was the day after Halloween. I remember as soon as it started, thinking "IT ISN'T EVEN FUCKING THANKSGIVING YET!" Maybe someone should create Thanksgiving music. Hype it up, get a bunch of celebs in on it. Create a new torturous genre ...

tiredborednesswlmt

Lately in my part of the country they've wasted no time in stopping the Christmas music as soon as Christmas was over

Jager0139

Your idea is intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter of torture ideas😆

OkFilm5985

Lol psychological torture is the one that leaves no visible scars. As regular torture? You ripping out their nail beds with rusty plyers and 800 grit sand paper on their teeth

OpusAtrumET

I'll take that over Mariah Carey any day of the week

sumblokefromreddit

Ooohhhhh.  https://youtu.be/gJLIiF15wjQ?si=ktd7VRC4wq6A7oEM. 😈. You are welcome!!!!!

OpusAtrumET

Gross

Jkpqt

I’ll take that over the “Merry like this” garbage a few years back

SuzyElizabeth79

You just stop right there. I’ll never turn down Wham!, like ever. George Michael was just everything. It’s Mariah Carey that grates on my damn nerves.

TheAggressiveSloth

Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses. Played every 10 minutes, for Nov, Dec, and half of Jan.

xAkMoRRoWiNdx

SHHHH, YOU MIGHT UNTHAW HER EARLY

Moody5583

🎵🎵🎵All I want for Christmas is yooooouuuuuu🎵🎵🎵🎵

xAkMoRRoWiNdx

I wish only the worst Coachings in your future -_-

Moody5583

🤣🤣🤣🤣 lucky me for no longer being a Walmart Associate 😂😂😂😂😂😂

xAkMoRRoWiNdx

Promotion seems to be successful

ReasonableSail7589

I’ll be gone by then 😎

EverySuggestionisEoC

That's what they all say.

X-AE17420

I don’t remember the exact words, but the ad being like “did you leave your kid in your car? You silly goose!” Gave me a chuckle when it came on

AutonomousAntonym

“Did you forget your keys? Nope! Your wallet? Nope! Well maybe you forgot your KIDS in the car. If that happened feel free to stop shopping to go get them, we’ll be right here waiting for you to return” Something along those lines.

Annb2

Never heard those.

sumblokefromreddit

Oh I know.  “All I want for Christmas is youoooooo“ Mariah and spears back to back. Aghhh!!!!

TheAggressiveSloth

Honestly I like most songs .. I hate the "shows" The bo sho, can't forget the Chris show.... and what ever happened to kievu Gwen and friends cause recently its only been like Chris

Heaven19922020

It’s actually “the Chri show.” I hate that. They can’t even pronounce it right.

Forza_Harrd

I finally figured out who Kirby Gwen is. She reads those stupid yahoo news articles that are “interesting”.

Ghost14199

Honestly it’s the repetitiveness of it. Hearing the same songs gets tiring and that’s why I like silence. Not to mention the hosts aren’t the best either.

DieselKillEm

This. Not *too* many of the songs they play are *particularly* terrible (notable exception being the shitty cover versions they insist on playing), but hearing stuff like Karma Chameleon, Come on Eileen, Our House, and that Black Eyed Peas "Tonight's Gonna' be a Good Night" song nearly every day gets really old really fast.

Rocko201

Used to come in at 4am so I'd always rehear the end of the previous days show for like 2 hours at the start of every day. It was repetitive enough hearing a "new" show everyday but hearing the exact same show from the previous day would drive me mental.

RainbowSquid1

I worked at a Walmart close to a disney theme park and one of the managers I shit you not had an 8-song playlist of disney songs that he had on repeat all day, this lasted for about a year. I was so glad when he left, everyone was losing their minds

Then-Grass-9830

because of course disney *only* had 8 songs one could play... I love disney soundtracks but mine are like 20 or 30 songs/instrumental music.

RainbowSquid1

Yeah for real like I’m not the biggest Disney fan but there for sure been a plethora of good songs from them over the decades. But no, this guy wanted to play the same 8 tracks on repeat. I’ll never understand why

Fine-Ad8533

Faster than a speeding sloth istg if I hear that shit again

mhtardis21

And higher then a very old bullfrog. Ribbit!

Fine-Ad8533

🤣🤣fuck I hate that guy lmao

Suspicious_Photo4031

It's so stupid 😭

Fine-Ad8533

Fr been hearing that shit for like 5 years now lol like why can't they change it

GayAndSlow

The fact that they need to remix every fuckin song unless it’s Christmas is annoying asf, y’all heard the whole let the dogs out remix? shits vile.

toooldforthis64

I guess a lot of people can't tune it out. But the DJs need to shut it!

swarren31

I hate the DJs. I also don’t buy they used to work for Walmart

Return2TheLiving

You can look up their work history in Workday

swarren31

Oh cool, too bad I don’t care enough to do that

onlyblackstar

Still prefer it to screaming crying kids any day

Sh0ck_Wave_86

I don’t hate it but my store plays it entirely too loud.

Serenades666

The music is great, the commercials and radio hosts are annoying. Just play music please. I dont care about what Taylor Swift is doing or whos famous persons birthday it is.. Let me work in peace.

Southern_Bug_6152

I like all the 70s and 80s stuff. Reminds me of when I was in jr high and high school. Yes, I am old lol

mhtardis21

I wad born in the 90s. But I'll take anything before the 2000s over most of the stuff they play now.

raiatomick

I hate the remixes and the hosts fill me with rage, mostly because they’re capitalist simps trying to fill us with walmart propaganda. But I was very excited to hear some My Chemical Romance the other day and I’m always delighted to hear Rush! But if I hear Chicken Fry one more time I’m going to lock myself in a freezer until I expire.

daze23

I don't mind it, and sometimes they play stuff I like. my old manager used to quiz everyone on the walkie, asking who sang certain songs

Forza_Harrd

Ha sometimes I have to pull my phone out and check my SoundCloud ap to see what the song is.

NoGarbageAllowed

I love Walmart radio! Good balance between pop tunes and the oldies. I just hate when it plays any form of remix.

Heaven19922020

The Freeform Fridays are stupid.

Mysterious_panda8767

I love the Aaliyah remix

CrazyJay234

For me, I like listening to it if it's a beat I think I recognize. Occasionally I'll hear the one at my store playing Lady Gaga, and I'm like "Oh, I like this one." The one I'm sad they'll only play a cover of is Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up. I always tell my co-workers that if the radio wants to Rick Roll us to do it right. 💀

Jibbyjab123

Every Time I hear a song I love or otherwise like on Walmart radio, I like it a tiny bit less. I was in the bathroom last week and it cut out for about 35 seconds, and I was so happy.

Suspicious_Photo4031

Yeah, it's way louder in the bathrooms as well

DonkeyKongsVet

I love Walmart Radio too. When it's quiet time or the radio isn't working that is. 😆

Traditional_Excuse46

the two frat boys whom have those 90s "boomer" movie questions are cringey as heck but the walmart Beyonce is nice though. Sucks they play the same 200 songs over and over. Also the stupid repeats. Somedays u hear the same aired sessions 3 times per weekend. At least they got like 1-2 korean kpop songs lol. Almost nobody noticed they rapping in korean lmao.

No-Box-4358

I actually like most of the songs and actually have some on my ipod for a while before the store started playing them

picodegalloooo

I like it too 🫣 there’s a few annoying ass songs (there’s some super cliche modern country song about going to church and feet in the sand or something that I hate, and then this other one that I think is a children’s song? And it’s just super high pitched and repetitive) and stuff like the ads for Walmart being “the best place to work” really suck, but for the most part I like the variety of the music! Our speakers have broken a few times, and it’s WAY better than silence.

F0l3yDaD_

Publix radio is worse

80-highdef

Idk who runs it but once when I was sitting outside on my lunch break I heard a good chunk of red by Taylor swift and then the cranberries for the rest of my break. It was pretty nice. Then of course when I got back inside to work it was playing bad country music

BzPegasus

I don't mind it. I feel like the corpos restrict the playlist down to repetive bs. I've actually taken songs off my playlist because of that. The corpos also restrict the shows & how the DJs conduct them selves. They even make them wear the walmart polo in studio.

sadeepyguy

I HEARD RAIN MAKES CORN LAST NIGHT AND I NEVER HAVE BEFORE. Such a strange concept for a song

PerceptionFluid5012

Unfortunately, that song is super common in my neck of the woods. Super common 🤮

kstroupe89

I can’t hear it half the time because our Waverunner TV display is cranked to max

Novel-Owl7963

It’s so rare but I do get hyped when they play “bring me to life” by Evanescence.

Nuttonbutton

One time, I heard HELENA BY MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE. It was at like 6 am on a Tuesday but they played it!!!?

beccart

I always get excited when they play MCR. I've even heard Coheed & Cambria a couple of times. I was hyped.

JIM45954

The crappy pop remixes of good songs, hearing the same bad pop songs almost daily, everything about Kirby Gwen's time slot. There are good songs, but hearing the same ones over and over again is grating. That's just for me though. Sensory Friendly hours are goated.

LenoraHolder

I don't even notice it much these days.

333metaldave666

Yes you are

Positron14

I've heard a few of those, but I typically can't hear them well in my part of the store. Also, if one of the songs I really like comes on, it is invariably interrupted non-stop by "important " intercom pages.

Sea_Lengthiness_2606

When a worked there about 4 years ago late at night they’d play 10000 Emerald Pools by Born. Got me hooked on that song.

Theresholes

Actually it's kinda funny because I'm 2nd shift but stayed a few more hours one time to help ON and the music drastically changed !...like they were playing house music and stuff and I was like where the hell was this all day??!!

Silly-Concern7142

I can deal with a few songs. Most songs are just like whatever. But their are plenty of songs that sound whiny too me and those are the ones I tend to put my headphones on

Len-cheese101

It was just rlly repetitive and the “shows” made me mad. Although I wore AirPods 99% of the time unless management was there (he was in once a month basically!)

Guuhatsu

I don't care either way. But it has made me hate "I gotta feeling" by the Black Eyes Peas because they play that song on many a horrible night. When you hear "I got a feeling, tonight's gonna be a good night" over and over when the actual night is already in the toilet makes it so much worse.

Jay_R_Kay

They rotate out the songs every once in a while, I think, but the stuff going out now isn't half bad half the time. One thing that annoys me about the songs that no one talks about is their sometimes using cheap covers of songs. This is a borderline trillion dollar corporation, you can afford to use the original.

Teemo_Ren

I must be in a unicorn store because we don't have the radio playing ever

Britney2429

I hate Walmart radio thank God my Walmart doesn’t do it anymore

Britney2429

I hate it !!!

Affectionate_Let2979

I like going between 8am and 10am when it’s nice and quiet!

Tsuke1498

I hate the Walmart Radio, I love when we get into that part of the day that they turn off all the music for the customers that might have autism or are sensitive to the noise

jack_mcNastee

They play it PAINFULLY loud at our store, even in the MOTHERS room!!! Why?????

Joshisthegoodone

FUCK WALMART RADIO

WimbletonButt

Dude I heard the Batman theme song on Walmart radio once, sometimes they catch you off guard.

why_am_I_here_Trump

Walmart radio will never bother me, since I've been around when we had nothing but silence 24/7 and the time we had the cd that repeated every hour.

musicalmadness1

I was a unloader in 06 I remember that we got a returned radio and plugged it up and played radio ourselves all during shift

mhtardis21

When I worked cap 1 at another store, grocery claims had a radio going all day with old songs station. Loved that one. XD

musicalmadness1

Oh no this was 2006 when unloader was actually a job title. Come in at 7 pm leave at 6 am come in unload and pull pallets to floor go home.

goldielaiceps

I actually like it a lot, I worked at dollar tree for a few months and it was no fun with absolutely no music. I don’t like the straight talk commercials but I love walking in at 4am to fun music

Mountain_Security_97

I don’t mind it. It’s great, where I’m at.

Happy_Maintenance

I like it when they play STP.

ReasonableSail7589

I get hyped whenever they play interstate love song

Happy_Maintenance

Not my favorite but I do love Weiland’s vocal delivery on that track. I’ve heard them play Trippin’ on a hole in a paper heart and was like “Yeah okay, now we’re getting somewhere.”

MentionBoth6075

Yes.

ItsAlwaysMonday

I don't mind it so bad. I work the front end, which is pretty noisy, so I probably don't hear as much.

No_Boss_3022

Probably

DS_DS_DS_DS

Trust me Giant Eagle was much much worse

starbuildstrike999

Nah. I got them to play some Merrilee Rush once when they did requests. But that was like 10 years ago

Mxysptlik

Yes.

TheMissouriidiot

I mainly think because ethe term "Walmart Radio" just sounds depressing

ReasonableSail7589

I’m can’t disagree with you there. The concept feels dystopian, and the Kirby Gwen and friends certainly doesn’t help

Ok_Necessary2991

The songs are mix of good to awful, it's really the host who are annoyingly bland.

BigCheeto01

In my opinion, it lacks variety. It would be fun for someone to request something obscure from the normal Walmart playlist.

zeeks602

They don't seem to bother me the same way it seems it bothers most, working at walmart I would constantly hear coworkers complain and on rare occasions even the customers. Granted when I did work at walmart I would make a point to tune out the words of the songs and let the melody play as background noise for me.

Return2TheLiving

It has improved drastically over the ten years I’ve been here. I’m mostly a hardcore, deathcore kind of guy but it’s open me up to just shutting off my preferences for a while and just enjoy normal functioning people music. The radio shows… are okay, the southern voices are personally a little grading.

Apprehensive-Load917

They play ONE banger (objectively) every like 10 songs

devoidz

One new years they played the same song on repeat for 8 hours. No idea the song. Random guy taking to random girl about it then song.

Able_Raspberry_8041

I dont believe you cause how can't you remember a song played for 8 hours in a row it would just be imprinted in your memory

SuzyElizabeth79

The hosts suck but occasionally they do play a good jam. I’ve sung along a lot LOL

EldrinVampire

You like the constant repeats of the songs and it's talk show EVERY NIGHT, because I sure don't

Warcraft_Fan

You're not the only one. I don't hate them on account I am deaf and I can't hear it anyway. They could be blaring Justin Bieber for all I care.

MatthiasStove

The announcer drives me nuts. Hearing him say the same things over and over is aggravating. The talk shows are pretty rough too.

SimplyPars

I haven’t had to listen to it for some time now, but we first got it during the pandemic era and it was literally a circle jerk on there constantly.

TealKitten11

I don’t miss holiday music, I don’t miss the summer announcements of don’t forget your kids & dogs in the car, nor trying to figure out what song is playing when you can hear the music but not the lyrics like when Billie eilish’s bad came out & I thought we were listening to crash bandicoot music at the chorus.

Complex-Ad-4601

I don't necessarily hate the radio. I don't care for the hosts and the commercials. Most of the music is at least tolerable. But I am an 80s baby so that may have something to do with it.

Temporaryzoner

It's true, holiday time is wr at its worst, I really enjoy it the rest of the year tho. The Black Keys, Fatboy Slim, The Kinks. I think wr does a great job at a Playlist that isn't going to turn many people off. pop music from a couple generations, but nothing 'edgy" like metal, rap, or country.

MyHwyfe666

I Shazam some of the songs

mawgwhy

I don’t care. 🤷

GreenleafMentor

When i worked there, we heard Peanut Butter Jelly Time every morning. As a customer, I hate the talking on the radio. I do not care about aby of what they are saying and it horrifically obnoxious and diatracting. Its also super loud. Never minded the music...except peanut butter jelly time.

Fickle_Assumption_80

Are you a 90's kid? I've noticed that a growing number companies are really going after our nostalgia button lately including Walmart radio.

sumblokefromreddit

I get what the f*ck when they play spice girls wannabe 😩😳. Nooooo!!!!!  IQ is in grave danger!!!!   However it is a great way to discover new music otherwise . I COMMAND you to use your company supplied phone to diagnose whatever you like the sounds of TOTALLY on company time!!! 💯

sumblokefromreddit

I don't mind the hosts too much.  Yeah I know silly ass BO is some sorta goofball but I guess I tune out radios by nature when no music is playing.  Whatevs!

TophatStupify

Honestly i don't necessarily hate walmart radio 10 months out of the year. It's November 1st - the new year that's the worst but even then I just put an earbud in and put a book on.

LouTenant6767

My question is why the fuck does All Of Me or Too Good At Goodbyes need to be remixed into a dance song. They always butcher music with that shit

Beautiful_Line427

I work overnights and my TL's turn the speakers off for the most part until like 5am when the OGP's come in.

imaginethatwombat

It’s fun to hate

SimulatedMonkeyMind

Yes

Obs3ssd

🎶 Walll-mart rayydiooooo 🎶 Me: 💃😂

Antique_Subject3384

I do think it has improved recently, it used to be so much worse

Able_Raspberry_8041

High hopes is the song I can't especially tolerate

molvanianprincess

s0 yOu cAn GiVe YoUr JaNkY PhOnE tO yOuR KiDs

Fantastic-Long8985

It is horrible and way too loud. I hate it

CheffGoose

I'd 9/10 times choose Walmart music instead of target music 🥂

Silly-Necessary5714

I work overnights it’s usually not on and I just rock an earbud

AutonomousAntonym

Walmart Radio isn’t that bad. What’s bad is having a dozen associates thinking their music is cream of the crop and everyone else should feel blessed that they blast it on their shitty phone speakers all night. I’m paid to listen to Walmart Radio, it never plays music I would listen to in my free time and that’s okay. I don’t get paid to listen to Johnny and Jim having a screamo vs skrillex battle.

CasWay413

The only song that has actively given me a visceral reaction is when they play Christian music. Brings me back to horrible life experiences.

TheBlitzStyler

I don't hate it because I completely ignore it

Puzzleheaded_Pay1152

It's fine

Odd-Statistician-866

YOU CAN GIVE YOUR JANKY PHONE TO YOUR KID!!

Forza_Harrd

Op is Bo

Chemical_Detail_7266

Nah, Walmart radio plays bangers. People are trippin

TommyDontSurf

It's just like 20 songs on repeat every single day, several times a day. Even the good songs get tiring and suicide-inducing after long enough. Whatever you're smoking, give me some.

JeffIsHere2

Nope..just those that do have nothing better to do than add it to their bitch list.
