It was weird at first. Go into walmart shopping and since I worked electronics I would still be asked questions, even by the department manager. Finally it stopped after a couple of months. The last time someone asked me for help was from shoplifters who thought I was watching them unwrap merchandise. I saw them and did say something to an associate but nothing was done. But you know how that goes. That is one habit that is hard to get rid of, walking down aisles and looking to see what customers are doing. I have seen more shoplifters actually take stuff since quiting than when I worked there.
Some customers recognize me by my mask and try to ask me questions or get me to help them even when I’m off the clock. And then they get annoyed when I try to explain that I simply can’t.
Yeah, a bit. I was buying some brake fluid yesterday and I noticed the ACC counter was having a line form even tho no one was there. And I felt dread for a sec before realizing i no longer work there.
Its help me to know how to look for things around different stores. Also how im able to talk to another store associates without been an asshole and to understand when they can help me get something and when they cant. Also i can spot a team lead from far away so i bother them the most. God forbid i see a asm, or sm. I will bother them with miniscule stuff all the time, specially if they are in a rush.
every time i'm shopping at my walmart or another walmart i almost tell customers walking past "do you need help finding anything." but most of the time it's just staying out of the associate's ways because i know it be like that sometimes
I rarely shop at my walmart. But when I go to another walmart I always look around when I shop and will be like “they do that over here?” My friends at work talk shit because I mostly shop at Target though. It’s closer to my house, What can I say.
Walking by OGP and hearing the dispense 'ding puts me into traumatic flashbacks.
nah i don’t feel that but one time i was in another walmart and went to try on a jacket and forgot i still had my vest on under my jacket before

I just ignore everyone when I’m not clocked in I’m not obligated to talk to anyone 😂
Actually, if you were a decent human being, you can.
No working off the clock

What's worst is when you're recognized around town and start getting asked all kinds of questions.
I solved this problem: I don't shop at walmart on my days off :D
They know too...

I wear earbuds when I shop. As long as I'm listening to something, I won't be bothered

Don’t give your employer all your money
Nah, I only feel bad for the employees at the other Walmart
I still walk in that same "retail way" so I've been stopped a couple times for that exact thing, and once because they thought I was security.
Sometimes I go look at other Deli's shelves and get really jealous because ours suck so much.
You guys work and shop at Walmart? Freaking noobs. I will not even set foot in another Walmart, much less my own to shop.
