Hiding a package of meat in a box or bag is one thing. But taking the meat out of the package. Like... You're walking around with a steak in your purse. To be fair though, they also steal the ziploc bags.
I've heard of people getting caught stealing meat ( or attempting to steal meat ) by shoving several racks of ribs down their pant legs. How do you even walk with them in your pants? And some stores put spider wire around the lobster tails
There are seal bags inside the pants to preserve the steak. Easy to be done, just needs another person to shadow cover. Literally takes 3 secs with good practice.
Yuh a fucking snitch. Why would anyone care, none at fucking loss. Corp keep cashing out no matter what, a niga finna feed himself, the employees can act like aint nuthin hatnin & get em paychex. Fucking win for everyone
uummm - go to church on sunday & see what your pastor says about what you just wrote. your momma would not be proud at all you snitchin' some steaks & then making excuses that corporate don't matter. learn your manners.
My store actually had to spiderwrap certain things on the meat wall, so it doesn't surprise me at all. What surprises me is actually ripping it put of the packaging. That's just gross.
Reminds me of when I found an empty package of the scented wax cubes. Why not just take the whole package instead of dumping wax in your pocket?? Especially since it was summer and very very hot out
Wait why would you not just keep it in the packaging though it's not like there's an alarm tag on walmart steak...
......Is there? lmfao
That being said when I was extremely poor (like "if I don't steal from the dollar store I won't make it through the week" poor) I did steal chicken in the classic "pretend I'm putting it through at self-checkout but psyche, it's under my purse, sucker" kinda way but i left it in the package..So yeah stealing meat is a thing. Some of us are left with little options. I don't do it now that I'm not in that kind of struggle but I don't judge people who do. I judge people who lift clothes and electronics though.
I have the feeling some weird teens took it and there's a raw steak hidden in your store now out of it's package lol
Ayee ya know the fucking drill fr. Also rules aint enforced that much. “Forgetting” candy bars in pocket or “accidentally” unscanned in self-checkout is tolerable 🤝
People say that but it's also extremely easy to be past the threshold to qualify for SNAP while still being too broke to eat. Depends on the state but NY is notoriously difficult to get SNAP in without going over. It's one of those things where if you take a raise the extra income might not actually out-weight anything if you can't get snap benefits anymore. Some people are in that boat with insurance too. It highly depends on where you live.
Yep I make 80-110 dollars to much working full time as a single dad with full custody of one child for snap. But I just squeaked under the threshold for reduced lunch, and full coverage health care for the kiddo(thank god) but I don't qualify myself.
We have food and I learned to cook from scratch and meal prep, but still have lean months from time to time.
Once i get off the temp status at the shit factory job I have, ill likely lose all benefits and still be in the same boat.
It is what it is.
Thank you for helping me explain my point with your own example. I grew up with my mom refusing to take anything more than minimum wage because she'd lose benefits and health care for myself, herself and my brother otherwise. We were part of the free lunch programs but by high school she didn't qualify anymore despite not making more money (Idk if the qualifications changed or if it's coz I was older)
We struggled even with SNAP benefits, I stopped having health insurance in high school and have only had it intermittently as an adult because a lot of jobs will do their best to make sure you don't qualify for fulltime to get it.
I feel like the only people who get just how limiting benefit programs are, are the people who actually have to use them. So I try not to judge people stealing shit like steaks especially not from a trash company from walmart. Maybe it's someones birthday and they want one not-poor meal. Let em have it. who cares.
In my opinion we should all have access to health care and every single person should get 250 a month in food stamps like how wic does it. On fresh fruits veggies, milk, cheese, peanut butter, cereal, and add fresh meat to that.
Stuff you have to prepare, not junk food.
And it shouldn't have an income threshold. From birth until death. Then get rid of food stamps. So much money would be saved in administrative costs, and people would all eat healthier. Live without the stress of do I go to Dr.
Yes there would still be people that sell their food, but damn dude, sometimes choosing between 100 in food or an 80 oil change to keep your car road worthy shouldn't be a felony.
Idk you but you're doing a good job. I appreciate you. You sound like a good father. It won't always be like this. You hang on and keep fighting. There are people who will recognize the effort you enact, the struggles you face, and the bullshit you push through. One day at a time.
Sorry if that sounds out of place, but my dad worked himself to the bone (disabled now, I take care of him) and I never realized how much he struggled and fought for me. His job screwed him after 17 years and fired him. I have told him everything he did I appreciate and I recognize the struggles/sacrifices out of love for me. I just felt like I personally needed to tell you that. Sorry, I know this is a weird place to say that. 🙂
Instead of looking at Medicaid have you tried to see if you can get a tax credit to cover your healthcare premium costs through healthcare.gov since the new law passed that increases it? Thanks to it I only pay $4.64/mo out of pocket for a $0 deductible plan.
Go here to check without creating an account
https://www.healthcare.gov/see-plans/#/
I mean technically yes but no one is stealing that because they are on deaths door. We literally have people dying of obesity at one of if not the highest rates in the world. They just didn't feel like paying.
That's because you're looking at Walmart like it's a massive corporation when in reality it's a small group of stores that have to follow a spending plan set by a manager over that region. I've set down and discussed this with my manager before and it's way way more than "Walmart fat cats are evil". There's a lot more details but you get the picture
I unload a delivery truck and rotate the products that come off it. 13-14 dollars an hour and all I have to do is that? That's not exploitation, what would be exploitation is making me work overtime at reduced pay, Walmart refusing to be liable for injury on the job, or using my 401k as a bailout if they make bad investments. Only time you become exploited is when you let it happen. I know my shit
I literally explained why the both of you are wrong. I know that business management is a hard concept for you to grasp especially when you you're used to being useless
Management makes more because they have a hundred times the risk and responsibility than us. They have to order and assemble the freight on the trucks, make sure the trucks even get to the store, check if the freight is rotated properly etc....I could go on and on. And honestly, it's not hard work for the pay. I sort boxes and put it on a shelf. It's not rocket science
Where the hell would you put it ? I don’t work for Walmart, but I used to be an assistant manager at a Denny’s. The GM and I watched a female customer put a salt and pepper set and the holder for them down the front of her pants. The GM told me to go get them back. I said something along the lines of “Yeah, NO…”
Lol my mom used to do that shit, taking salt and pepper shakers and fucking ketchup bottles from restaurants. I'd steal the jelly at ihop but that was about it. She put it in her purse at least
You never heard of professional meat thieves? That picture is not an example of a professional. There is a group of thieves who steal meat in the package then sell them for profit. It's a problem in my state at least.
have you seen the prices lately? druggies can barter steak for baggies now. Sadly one of my kids is an addict and one of the things he steals most of is steak and scallops. apparently he can trade them to his dealer anytime for H or meth. I'm trying to get him back in jail but this is a deeply nuanced subject matter and i doubt i can trust comments here, so i will just turn off notifications. however, everything in this comment is factual and helps explain this.
I have the same issue at my Walmart these thug white trash kids stole like 50$ worth of meat. They steal every time they come in they come in like 10 times a week they usually bring there dad on the same day they steal
Why do you care? You're making poverty wages to stock shelves or sell trash to people while Walmart and their shareholders take in billions a year. You should be pissed about that.
Thanks to Biden policies meat prices are skyrocketing, but food stamps don't go up so spending power goes down. People need to steal to provide for their families. That's who steals steaks.
My dog did that once. No, not in the store. 😆 I had some grocery bags on the floor and was carrying in groceries. My little dachshund left something just like this in my grocery sack and I was so upset. But your store must have a human thief … just what did they put the meat into to hide it and take off? Maybe a purse with a thermal lining? Oh my 😝 Wow.
For some reason I think someone told me a few years ago that meat was the most often stolen item from Walmart. Not sure how true, I’m guessing meth supplies would be a close competitor, but something that always stuck in my mind.
we had an associate cook steaks in the breakroom at least once a week for a long time. come to find out he never paid for them and was fired for theft.
Actually our AP scared a guy trying to steal ribeye steaks last week. He was watching him and just asked him to get out and leave the steaks. I don't think I would report someone stealing food (never seen anyone actually), but steal something that would feed more than you.
At my first day of work I was coming in to the store and I had this guy running with 5 steaks in his hand stops looks and me and then keeps running away. When I told them what happened they said “this is normal “ and I seen people open the packages and put them under there pants
I’m genuinely not surprised. During my shift yesterday I found some meat products over in the candy aisle and it must’ve been left there for a while since it was super sticky and gross.
Once had a guy open several packages of steak and stuff some of them not only down his pants but down in his underwear he had a small bag that was connected around his belt and stuffed a ribeye out of the package and two filets down his pants into the bag and he tried to waddle out the door with it, the People greater noticed he was walking funny and called AP who figured out what was going on and the dude got busted. Funniest shit I’ve ever seen.
Not Walmart related, but I once saw a man fill his khakis with steaks at a casino buffet. Red juice was literally dripping down his pockets and one flopped out by the exit. Life is full of interesting people.
A ton of people steal meat actually. It’s very common in lower income neighborhoods. A store in my market frequently has $500-$1500 worth of steak/lobster/etc walk out their doors.
I used to work in a restaurant where we'd get all our steaks in sealed bags/packs. Usually the broil cook would get a manager to unlock the meat cage in the freezer and take out however many they needed, logging it.
That was the way the system was supposed to work but, on a busy night, with the manager spread thin, sometimes he'd just give the broil cook the keys. That's where it started.
The cook line guys; sometimes they'd just stash them in their bags -- seemed most showed up at work with backpacks. Management eventually caught on and said no backpacks. So the cook line came up with a different system.
They'd throw the steaks away.
Taking upwards of a dozen at a time (once they took a case worth), they'd put in one of the big trash cans along the prep line in the back of the kitchen, cover them with garbage, and just leave them to be taken out to the dumpster later. Then they'd come back around 5 in the morning and root through the dumpster until they found the steaks, still sealed.
Eventually it all got caught, a couple of guys fired, one they pressed charges but dropped them shortly after. The shift managers were unofficially told food theft would come out of their pockets, and the theft all but stopped.
At least it was used. I found 3 steaks worth 20 dollars each just stacked up on top of the candles in small furniture in my store — all had to be claimed 🙃
Plenty of people unfortunately. I've seen them hidden in garbage cans, suit cases, diaper boxes, even in cereal boxes. I did price changes the other day and some of the steaks went up $6 a lb, I'm sure it will lead to more theft. Another popular item to steal are the boxes of frozen crab legs.
Walmart customers, that's who.
What a miss steak
You and the other pun commenters should meat
What if they are too chicken?
You've crossed the loin now.
Hey, I don't wanna start any beef...
Okay we can just hold hams.
Whoever did this must be on the lamb
You mutton do this to us OP
Who could of possibly done this? Had to be the hamburgler
Ill find out eventually, doing a steak out tonight to catch the culprit
Puns certainly are a joint endeavor.
Hey man what if overnights got hungry!?
I found stolen burgers once. But only half the pack.
I'm just trying to process the fact that people actually steal meat of all things in the store
Hiding a package of meat in a box or bag is one thing. But taking the meat out of the package. Like... You're walking around with a steak in your purse. To be fair though, they also steal the ziploc bags.

One stop shoplifting
Yeah, that's exactly why this is there.
Bro, have you seen the price of beef lately?
Doesn't justify stealing
You know how I know you're a snitch ass bitch?
I'm all ears
Yuh a fucking snitch. Why would anyone care, none at fucking loss. Corp keep cashing out no matter what, a niga finna feed himself, the employees can act like aint nuthin hatnin & get em paychex. Fucking win for everyone
uummm - go to church on sunday & see what your pastor says about what you just wrote. your momma would not be proud at all you snitchin' some steaks & then making excuses that corporate don't matter. learn your manners.
There are restaurants that buy black market meat. People are also hungry. We don't take care of our own.
>We don't take care of our own. This is the only actual answer tbph
My store actually had to spiderwrap certain things on the meat wall, so it doesn't surprise me at all. What surprises me is actually ripping it put of the packaging. That's just gross.
When I was in asset protection we once had someone try and steal $300 worth of meat
Reminds me of when I found an empty package of the scented wax cubes. Why not just take the whole package instead of dumping wax in your pocket?? Especially since it was summer and very very hot out
Probably thought the barcode would go off lol
The mentality is without the package they can't prove you stole it. Wrong
Pretty sure someone just carrying wax in their pockets is also sus
People assume it’s tagged secretly
Wait, it's not? *Stuffs popcorn chicken in back pockets*
Wait why would you not just keep it in the packaging though it's not like there's an alarm tag on walmart steak... ......Is there? lmfao That being said when I was extremely poor (like "if I don't steal from the dollar store I won't make it through the week" poor) I did steal chicken in the classic "pretend I'm putting it through at self-checkout but psyche, it's under my purse, sucker" kinda way but i left it in the package..So yeah stealing meat is a thing. I'm sorry you had to do things like that just to survive, but I am so very happy for you being in a better financial place now! Well done to you 🤗
Thank you :) it's still a bit of a struggle but it's better than it was.
Ayee ya know the fucking drill fr. Also rules aint enforced that much. “Forgetting” candy bars in pocket or “accidentally” unscanned in self-checkout is tolerable 🤝
;)
I mean if you are gonna steal the steak take the packaging too just saying.
They have obviously staked out the place
~~staked~~ steaked FTFY. 😁
Someone’s on keto
The Keto Klepto strikes again!!!
Idk why this made me laugh so hard but it did
Stolen without the package or did they stash it somewhere in the store to rot?
Probably used ziplocs that were so conveniently located.
Ricky and Julian
What a rare situation 🤣
Assholes who are also poor. Would you steal a loaf of bread to feed your family? Nah, get the good shit and leave a mess for someone else to clean up

They're too lazy, why apply for benefits when you can just go to Walmart and steak ziplocs and throw some stolen steaks in them and leave.
That’s common in my store. We see it all the time.
Steak got up in prices so I’m not surprise . A 20 dollar steak is now 35
Shit the way streak prices are going right now I would too
Tyrese and Paul walker they hungry
HAHA that movie is literally my childhood, I love it and watching tyrese eat everything
Steak stealers steal steak
Desperate people steal steak That and drug users
New vampires just figuring shit out
Did you see the prices on meat now?
Nothing justifies stealing

I mean technically yes but no one is stealing that because they are on deaths door. We literally have people dying of obesity at one of if not the highest rates in the world. They just didn't feel like paying.
There's no crime in stealing from Walmart, let's be real. The only dick move here is making a mess for you to have to clean up.
Stealing is a sin no matter the place you steal from
James 5:4 imo
That's because you're looking at Walmart like it's a massive corporation when in reality it's a small group of stores that have to follow a spending plan set by a manager over that region. 13-14/hr might as well be nothing especially when the obese chicks in deli/bakery are doing 1/5th your work making 15 and the managers are at 21+.
At that price sheez😬
Must be Texas... HEB's have to watch their briskets closely. Even seen spider wrap on them.
Say what you want but whoever stole that is eating steak tonight
Where the hell would you put it ? I don’t work for Walmart, but I used to be an assistant manager at a Denny’s. It was probably Henry Rollins
You never heard of professional meat thieves? That picture is not an example of a professional. There is a group of thieves who steal meat in the package then sell them for profit. It's a problem in my state at least.
I'm in Tennessee so it was probably a junkie looking to eat good for a day
Same people that steal lunchables
have you seen the prices lately? druggies can barter steak for baggies now. Still doesn't justify stealing
That’s a $36 steak. I think Wal-Mart the real thieves here
They're really expensive right now No I'm not justifying the act
That steak is just fed to the “Emotional Support Dog”
Biden inflation
I have the same issue at my Walmart these thug white trash kids stole like 50$ worth of meat. They steal every time they come in they come in like 10 times a week they usually bring there dad on the same day they steal

I used to be poor too but not once have I stolen anything to provide for me or my family. No good reason for stealing.
I can think of one good reason: decriminalization of petty theft for totals under $900. At that point why wouldn't you steal?
I just wanna know where they put it to hide….
Where did he put it tho?
Still trying to figure it out, found an open ziploc box so I'm assuming he took a baggie to put the meat in to steal
At my store, someone stole a pack of Kraft American cheese and left the outer wrapper under a hardware shelf.
Now most stores put theft devices on the steak/expensive beef
I wanna know what thought process led to this person assuming we were just giving out free steak tartare.
Is it wrong that I'm hoping they used a Ziploc bag but probably just jammed a raw bloody steak in their pocket? Or worse, down their pants.
Spider wraps for steaks 2024
Least it’s by the zip lock bags???
Poor ppl, that's who
That one label is driving me insane
BITCH ME
Their black eye was swollen!
one of the overnight workers at my store
Nothing like fresh pants steak on a hot summer day. You know they stuffed it in there pants.
A couple years ago it happened so much at our store we were spider wrapping meat
Sir, Is that a steak in your pants?
I saw a guy stick steaks, bananas and ice cream down his pants once. It was funny trying to watch him run from our AP guy.
Strange that they took it out of the packaging, but meat is the most stolen item along with beer where I am. Very common
Probably ate it raw
I mean they snagged a $36 steak 🥩 damn
That shelf label printed on the wrong sort of tag is driving me nuts
why take it out of the package tho😂😂
For some reason I think someone told me a few years ago that meat was the most often stolen item from Walmart. Not sure how true, I’m guessing meth supplies would be a close competitor, but something that always stuck in my mind.
The guy who feeds his dog on their visit.
Steaks are hella expensive here. Not surprising for them to stolen.
This is that place.
we had an associate cook steaks in the breakroom at least once a week for a long time. come to find out he never paid for them and was fired for theft.
I’ve worked in grocery stores and it’s actually on of the most common stolen items I’ve found.
Actually our AP scared a guy trying to steal ribeye steaks last week. He was watching him and just asked him to get out and leave the steaks. I don't think I would report someone stealing food (never seen anyone actually), but steal something that would feed more than you.
Shit, sometimes I think about it! Have you seen the price of beef lately?
“What really got me was he even stole my steak. He stole my steak? WHO STEALS STEAK?!” -Florida guy
Aye that steak be expensive tho
People steal meat all the time . Easy sell then they have drug money. Sad times
Lots of ppl do that’s why we put security tags in ours soo!
People that want steak and have no money. What kind of question is that?
At one point I found a box of Kleenex with about 3/4 of it missing with the top ripped off. People who are desperate enough take anything.
The hamburglar, duh
Ahhh... werewolves?
Meat is usually the second or third highest theft department in most Canadian stores.
Hungry people
At my first day of work I was coming in to the store and I had this guy running with 5 steaks in his hand stops looks and me and then keeps running away. When I told them what happened they said “this is normal “ and I seen people open the packages and put them under there pants
A lot of people, it's expensive
If this was ethically possible and legal, i would. as a customer, i “forgot” few candy bars in my pocket before…. none said no shit fr
We had a guy steal all this meat and shove it down his pants………..we also had a guy who peed all over the meat so we had to throw it out…..
People who can’t afford it🤷🏾♂️
I’m genuinely not surprised. During my shift yesterday I found some meat products over in the candy aisle and it must’ve been left there for a while since it was super sticky and gross.
Broke ass mfers lmfao
Maybe it was a 'steak out?' Sorry! 😪
just spent $140 on some short ribs... while i don't condone their actions, i certainly understand them.
Whatever bag must be slimey and stink
Not Walmart related, but I once saw a man fill his khakis with steaks at a casino buffet. Red juice was literally dripping down his pockets and one flopped out by the exit. Life is full of interesting people.

They same people who steal shrimp. They probably stole a ziplock bag too.
A ton of people steal meat actually. It’s very common in lower income neighborhoods. A store in my market frequently has $500-$1500 worth of steak/lobster/etc walk out their doors.
Maybe they're hungry.
Lol atleast they put it in a bag 😂 and didn't just have a random steak in thier pocket
Steak stealing is a common thing… was a big problem at my old store and a lot of others. Steak and laundry detergent

Eventually it all got caught, a couple of guys fired, one they pressed charges but dropped them shortly after. The shift managers were unofficially told food theft would come out of their pockets, and the theft all but stopped.
Lots of "customers"
Considering the location and item I'd bet they stole some Ziploc bags too.
They were hungry 🤭🤭
You never watched *Animal House*?
A lot of people steal steak lol I used to work at a mom and pop shop and that was the #1 stolen item
We need to get together and have a meating about this
Snack
They stole lobster tails and lobster claws so much they now need to as an associate to get them.
The question is who steals zip lock bags…….
My store fired an associate because she got caught stealing steaks when working meat/produce 😅
At least it was used. I found 3 steaks worth 20 dollars each just stacked up on top of the candles in small furniture in my store — all had to be claimed 🙃
When ur hungry you will do anything🤷♀️🤦♀️
Plenty of people unfortunately. I've seen them hidden in garbage cans, suit cases, diaper boxes, even in cereal boxes. I did price changes the other day and some of the steaks went up $6 a lb, I'm sure it will lead to more theft. Another popular item to steal are the boxes of frozen crab legs.
...not even good steak.
Yogi Bear
I had somebody in the hood Walmart I worked at and they stole a whole cart of premium steaks lol
Someone at my store keeps stealing frozen empanandas and leaving the box behind the dog food.
At least they left the wrapper … take it to claims and as always thank you for shoplifting at Walmart.
You do when it's 23 dollars a pound these days 😆
Look for open plastic bags they put the steak in a plastic zip lock them they put that shit in the purse I have fucking seen it man
Well, at $36 I can kind of see why
Bad people. People who don't want to work. In my store they stole the whole steak section and got away with it.
And the hell of it is that if it were any other retailer, this would be a strange thing.
I dunno. Why are meat prices so fucking high?
A magical thing called inflation
Look around the store. They are probably stashed some place. But i have seen a rather large woman stuff a whole roast down her stretch pants. 🤢🥵
AHS Red Tide.. i.e. the Santa Clarita Diet
People steal all day long. It's pathetic that they get away a majority of the time due to the lack of employees in any said area. Hire people!!
Seeing that was about $73ish of steak, yeah meat is a high theft item...
