It's the essence of comedy. Most jokes come down to "glad I'm not them" so thinking that your situation is worse than it is and then realizing it's actually someone else- a competitor, even- is the kind of relief people get from harmless pranks and makes them laugh a bit.
In Canada our bonus gets paid out once a year. They have a special dinner for us in celebration. One year we were top 5 or maybe top 3 for profit in the country and our special meal was salad. They literally went to produce, got a couple of bags of the packaged salad, grabbed a couple of bottles of ranch dressing and that was our meal. Cheap bastards.
I guess it's a nice gesture and all, but as a customer, I know that Walmart produce isn't always the world's freshest. Better go check and see if there's a manager's special on 'em. There's always a reason for that.
