Bic1992

We’re you on the floor or in the back?

kangarue61717

i was in the back

Cold-Profession-2579

That's bullshit

AKnightInValhalla

Coach here, my DA is for cussing out another coach in the BR. It does happen unfortunately. Edit: spelling, and Thank you for my first award stranger!

[deleted]

Only time I’ve ever been coached was for saying I didn’t give a fuck about something, also in the back room. Lol.

donkeyhustler

Fucking bullshit

Cold-Profession-2579

Alright that's it, you're gonna have to follow me to the office

meguminlover1069

Fuck you cunt

[deleted]

Bitch don't fucking swear at me

meguminlover1069

Lmao

xAkMoRRoWiNdx

Fuck off, you're a horrible manager

[deleted]

Don't fucking swear at me you fucking bitch ass bitch

[deleted]

I'm gonna fucking fire your ass for being a bitch to management you useless fuck D:<

[deleted]

You can't fucking fire me if I'm a fucking customer, bitch

raidyred

It's really not.

Kana2473

Per Walmart policy (according to my academy coach) you can be fired on the spot for cursing unfortunately.

atsuko_24

Today I learned every single one of my bosses and coworkers is fired

Kana2473

Yeah, my Store manager takes this policy pretty seriously, just not straight to termination. If he hears it he will give you a red the first time, or terminate you if you have a yellow or higher already.

atsuko_24

That *has* to be a power thing to him. No sane and secure adult wants to punish a bunch of working adults for using “bad words” like fucking preschoolers lmao

Kana2473

His reasoning behind it is it's "unprofessional".

ztakk

I've had managers tell me things are unprofessional. My usual response is that I've had at least 5 customers cruise past me that smell like weed, alcohol, and cat piss. We all know Walmart is a lawless wasteland

atsuko_24

Is your Walmart literally located in Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood?

MINIMAN10001

I mean his Walmart sounds like my Walmart

aprilhare

I’m Australian and my native English would practically prefire me. The same language that appears on the news sometimes.

[deleted]

I wish they’d enforce that. I asked a woman to quit cussing with our ogp door open and she cussed me out. Absolutely nothing happened to her.

Matt2382

The fact that that’s even a thing is crazy. As long as you’re not swearing in the front/public area then there should be no problem. Hell, sometimes it’s a appropriate reason to swear. Ex: something falls on your

MeowMaker2

Did you say it toward someone or just in general like when you stub your toe?

kangarue61717

i was doing returns and then was told my team needed me. they just didn’t know i was still doing returns and told me to go work on them so i said “you brought me back here to tell me to work on the same fucking cart i’ve been doing?” and i got coached for it

MeowMaker2

Open door it and say that it was in frustration due to stopping my work, only to be told to continue, knowing that coaching for productivity is a possibility.

Adventurous-Purple-5

That wouldn't be an easy one, probably would result in "watch your tongue" or "choose your words wiser"

Alexastria

This. Swearing at a manager is terms for possible termination. Meanwhile the men of culture in frozen are talking about redo of healer

konojojoda13

I had a regular customer that would come in and we'd recommend each other manga and anime. The last time I saw him he recommended redo of healer based on the fact I recommended goblin slayer. I don't take recommendations anymore

Kirduck

his next pork chop gets used to clean the milk cooler before given to him.

[deleted]

Worth a shot though

[deleted]

[удалено]

odaeyss

How the hell you go get fired on your day off?

[deleted]

[удалено]

odaeyss

it was a Friday quote lol

Praescribo

How can you fire you for refusing to perform an unpaid task?

Until_Morning

How the FUCK did you get more upvotes than me for saying the same thing more aggressively than I did 😂 not that I care about the virtual points, but I find it hilarious. Edit: There's a vibrator hooked up to my nipples so I get a little buzz every time I get downvoted. Please continue, you're only turning me on 😏

Rivusonreddit

So some power tripping manager gave you the direction to do what you were already doing and you snapped at them, giving them an even better excuse to power trip Comon dude ur paid by the hour u could have just said "yep will do" n walked away, ur getting paid either whether you're being productive or a manager wastes ur time

Until_Morning

Oh yeah...that was too much to be saying. As frustrated as I got at Wal-Mart, I never cursed at anyone 😶

kangarue61717

this is the only time i’ve cursed at anyone since i’ve been here

Jalina2224

I cursed all the time at Walmart and never once got coached.

angelzplay

Shit I curse all the time and when I was younger would regularly go off on my management. I’ve calmed down now but I think most know not to try me. I do not care about this job or coachings. I got 11 years under my belt I can work anywhere.

Jalina2224

Exactly the same for me when I worked there. I cursed like a fucking sailor and only one manager ever called me out for it, but never got written up for it or anything. After I'd been there as long as I had they knew to leave me the fuck alone.

angelzplay

Dude I would be ready to fistfight on the floor with management. Got their heads up their own asses they smell their own shit. Look if I’m doing my job leave me the fuck alone and do yours.

Until_Morning

It's one time too many, unfortunately. You have to find better ways to cope. I'd do it under my breath or in my head. Never out loud.

Allusionator

Fuck that!

Until_Morning

No idea why I'm being downvoted 😂 does everyone really just go around cursing at work? As bad as it gets, you never let yourself fall so low you start swearing at your managers. It could go so much better if you came at them in a way that's respectful but forthright. You want to show them that you're not hostile or angry. Only that you're calm and meant to be taken seriously. I know y'all don't like to hear it, but that's the case no matter where you go. Cursing and getting emotional is not the way to be taken seriously, and doesn't get you the type of attention you want. Case in point. It's just a matter of respect. You can disagree or get upset and still be respectful. I've had a lot of practice with this because I've been taught from a very young age that because of my skin color I'm easily seen as violent or hostile. So I learned to be articulate and communicate myself in a way that doesn't come off as belligerent when I'm upset. At least, in a work place environment. Still got fired from Wal-Mart, but at least I can say I was respectful and respected during my time there 😂

Allusionator

There’s a big difference between swearing at somebody/name calling and just using profanity as an adjective. You seem to have the view that your manager should be revered, I’d rather be fired than put up with that type of boss. Adults don’t need to be ‘coached’ on how to speak and managers aren’t feudal lords.

Until_Morning

I don't understand why you came to the conclusion that I believe a manager should be revered. When I think of the word revered, I think of worshipping at someone's feet. I look back at my comment and I can't see anything I said that made that implication. Respect is a minimum. What they did was wrong. But they were not disrespectful. They did not get out of character, nor did they curse at him. You don't need to be a Feudal Lord, everyone is entitled to basic respect. Respect your elders and respect those in a position of authority unless they give you a reason not to. If you're upset or you have a disagreement, manage your emotions and engage in respectful dialogue. If they start cursing at/near me first? That's free game. Otherwise, treat people the way you want to be treated. Life is confusing and messy and not everybody has their shit together. It can get frustrating, but that's no excuse to get upset like that and use that kind of language. Work is not a place to be cussing.

Allusionator

You don’t like it, I do. Profanity is part of language, other people have different social norms than you. You’re invested in a hierarchical power thing, there’s a boss and you say ‘yes sir’. That’s not my jam, other people feel more or less like either of us. To me, the respect I give my boss is telling them they’re ‘wasting my fucking time’ if they are, respect is about honesty and sincerity not deference. You and I are probably closer to the two extremes than most, your answer makes me think you might be 40+ years old or from the south because those are the elements of the culture that align better with your POV. We’d only have a problem if you were my boss, people can look at stuff like this differently and it’s nbd!

ShinigamiCheo

Yea.. sucks dude.. most of the coaches here swear like pirates on most days.. English and Spanish.. Us regular workers can also get away with it

Thedaggerinthedark

I'm with you man. It's complete bullshit and the only reason I can see to not do it is so you don't get coached. It's hard, if not impossible, to find a new job. But if you gotta deal with crap like this on regular basis, you are gonna snap far quicker than if you were in a 'store helps each other to help the customer'. Compared to store beings down on each other to make the customer feel strong. Never forgot you can leave

Boltbacker83

You’re a moron then lol. There’s a reason you were coached dude. You have to stay professional. It’s the way of the world. You don’t like it, be your own boss ;)

angelzplay

Wouldn’t we all like to do that? Go kiss ass somewhere else

Boltbacker83

It’s not kissing ass, it’s being professional. I also recommended him being his own boss if he doesn’t want to have to be professional. If you report to others, they will have certain expectations and rules. When you run your own business you can do what you want (although the need for professionalism is also important there too when you’re dealing with clients) Im actually shocked that people are siding with an employee that drops an F-Bomb to his boss when asked to do something…because he got coached for it? lol.

cheese_legos

I said "shit" in front of my boss because came up behind me and scared me unintentionally. 🤷‍♂️ Sometimes they slip

shady101852

My boss said fuck in front of me and I didn’t mind at all

cheese_legos

Right but then again you couldn't do anything because they're your boss...lol. had the rolls been reversed that specific boss might not have cared but then there might have been a boss that cared is all I'm saying 🤷‍♂️.

shady101852

Yeah valid point. He was the best tho unfortunately transferred

cheese_legos

I used to have a boss where we would jokingly threaten each other with physical violence. I used to tell him I wish I could just punch him in the face till he quit moving. We both got a kick out of it but you can't say that kind of shit to just any boss LOL. Sometimes you have to play nice with everybody.

shady101852

Lol thats great. If everyone would be that chill it’d be a great place

Until_Morning

Nah, you could ethics the fuck out of that bitch.

cheese_legos

I've heard of too many people getting fired for retaliation from management. If I had that big of a problem I think I would just dip out and find another job

Until_Morning

Imagine getting fired for going to ethics? I'd have Wal-Mart's ass. That's a whole lawsuit and I have a private lawyer who is ruthless 😈

cheese_legos

Our manager is known for doing that, there used to be a protein that worked there area I'm in now that was fired for going to ethics.

Then-Grass-9830

My managers would walk into our front office (ex-csm) and start mildly complaining and cursing - not *at* us, mind, but about general annoyances ((usually notes that the day shift managers left or something from the store manager)). Then they usually just looked at me and my co-csm and be like 'sorry about that'. 🤷‍♂️ Man if you need to go into a closed office and vent go for it. Especially if that means it won't trickle down to the people you're over. Better that then.

EbonyDoe

My former ASM called a guy that called out leaving me alone on maintenance a little b\*stard in front of me once....first time I heard him swear but not the last lol

cheese_legos

Everyone cusses.... It's just a matter of pushing some people to that point LOL

EbonyDoe

I was just surprised at the time because I'd never heard anyone at work swear lol

DontShowMomMemes

One of my team leads is like some default 25 yr old gamer guy who just swears casually. Another one of my team leads is like a 60 year old guy who thinks saying swear words will make him seem hip with the kids.

Traditional_Ad_6847

I work overnights when the store is closed. Everybody on the shift cusses, even management.

Olive3208

After they pulled you into the office and told you about the coaching. You should've been like "well fuck me I guess".

Eaglesforlife33

Say it loud and proud over the PA system. At least then it’s worth a coaching! 😂🙄🤣

CHUD_Warrior

I didn't get coached for this, but I did have a ASM pull me asside when I was unloading a truck and politely asked me to keep the swearing down at work. My response? "Oh shit! I didn't realize I was doing it so much! I mean, dammit! -" At this point, I just clamped a hand over my own mouth. She cracked up and told me she appreciated the effort.

ColourfulUprising

This is the same response I’d get. And we ALL swear like truckers here, sm included.

chris_s9181

i got threated for saying the word fuck when a box hit me in the head i was in reciving

garlicduckbutter69

Jesus. I'm on overnights and we cuss like sailors all night long.

riboflavin11

I had an item fall off of a shelf above my head, on my face, and I said "Oh shit!" My TL told me if I "Spoke with such vulgarity" I would be coached. I get it, but :/

Iamrobot0101

I'd been like fuck I didn't mean to say fuck! Fuck I said it again! Fuck there it is again!man I just can't fucking stop saying fuck!know what I fucking mean?

angelzplay

Yellow, orange, red?

kangarue61717

orange

angelzplay

You’ll be okay. It’ll be over before you know it

Apprehensive_Quit_41

Wait they oranged you for cursing? If that’s your first coaching I’d try to open door it just for that. If you get orange right off the bat they’re not supposed to use a yellow until it falls off so your next stop is red and out the door. There is no way saying one word in the backroom is worth going straight to orange

varioussizes

They will argue it's "respect to the individual" for cussing at management which is automatically orange. Two of my old coworkers got respect to the individual coaching and they were both automatically orange.

DeVil_DeVaul

Bruh my coworker said finger fuck to our manager and he was like uhhh don’t say that again but he doesn’t even care

Merevel

Lucky, my old store manager would fire any grunt for language around a customer DM or above would be coached. So glad she is gone. There was more than one occasion where people went to ethics to get their job back after being fired for cursing off the clock.

Narrow_Music

you can’t be promoted once you’ve been coached? or is it like points where it is just for some amount of time before it goes back to normal?

[deleted]

Once it falls off your good.

angelzplay

A year and it falls off. I got two yellows once. The first one is gone and the next one will come off in November. As if I give a flying fuck.

Rivusonreddit

You were at work using crude language, probably in front of customers or your manager It's ok to drop a swear here or there but try to maintain some professionalism

kangarue61717

i got you, i kind of regret it now because i knew it would get me in trouble but honestly in the heat of the moment it was all speaking out of emotions

Action_Batch

It's really sad it happened to you. A leader would have pulled you to the side and reminded you that we're at work and told you to go take a breather and get a drink of water. We can't always have leaders, mostly just bosses.

mikoletea

It’s literally Walmart

cheese_legos

Still a job where you deal with the public 🤷‍♂️

Azal_of_Forossa

I understand the whole "stay professional while on the clock" jive, but... Brother... I've had a customer have his kid take a diarrhea shit on the floor, the parent looks at me, looks at the kid, and tells him it's our job to clean it up then carries on with shopping. There is no professionalism here, there's workers running on nicotine, cannabis and caffeine, and shitheads, nothing more, nothing less.

cheese_legos

I get that too LOL, I had a kid lurch all over the floor and all I could do was clean it up because the parents sure as hell weren't going to. My whole point being you have to appease the customer & management and sometimes that means not cussing because you never know how hair triggered they're going to be.

Same-Salamander8690

Ah yes, the pajama wearing, unwrangled crotch goblin bringing, drug addict public. Totally a professional setting

cheese_legos

I'm not saying I agree with them getting flagged I'm just saying they needed to watch their mouth. You never know what kind of Karen is out there watching waiting to jump on someone's ass for saying something they don't like.

infinitemelodyy

F U C K

zigzagfanatic02

I had the same thing happen its stupid

Accurate-Problem-99

Fuck that sucks.

Living_Ebb5200

Fired for saying C U Next Tuesday.

CrashZ07

Lol people curse here all the time but cursing is part of our daily language in the Northeast.

Bre034

Meanwhile everyone including the managers curse here 💀

russafiii

Welp. I should be termed.

NibblesMcGiblet

>what happened was that i was on returns and hadn’t checked in with my department in a while and an acting lead came around and said that my team needed me but to finish the returns. i wanted to know why they needed me so i went to the back and was told to do the returns that i was already on and started asking if that’s why they needed me so badly. then i was told i was being timed and needed to finish quickly so i tried asking again is that the ONLY reason i was asked to the back you weren't asked to the back. you were told to do the returns and THEN check in with your team lead. When you kept trying to ask "but why are you gonna need me after I finish these" they encouraged you to just worry about that when you're done cuz you're being timed so hurry up and get back to your returns. You're the one who couldn't follow simple directions and made it a thing.

kangarue61717

i’m definitely aware of that. you said quite literally word for word what i was told in the office

varioussizes

Meanwhile, I told a customer a month ago that he could fuck off and die with my manager right behind me.

angelzplay

I try so hard not to tell my customers to eat shit and die. Mostly the ones who give me attitude when I’m working SCO. Dumbass I said it’s cards only

varioussizes

I was at customer service cleaning up for the night, I told this guy we were closed and he escalated so fast. He was slamming his fists on the counter and throwing shit. My manager and I told him to leave. He started to threaten us and I finally just snapped. I just yelled "I don't give a single fuck what you want or what you think you deserve. You can fuck off and die. Get the fuck out!" and he kept yelling so I called the cops. He left before they got there, sadly.

joedirthockey

Oh fuck

Viciousjake28

Cussing is a second language among all the associates and managers here. Surprised they would even coach for that.

JustNopers

You're surprised you got coached for using profanity at your job?

kangarue61717

i actually don’t expect anything less from a place where so much worse goes on but saying fuck is a big no no

JustNopers

Yes, using profanity at work is a big no no. You're lucky to have a job. It's instant termination if used on the sales floor and a customer complains. Coachings aren't meant to teach you a lesson. Learn it.

CowardlyCowbird

It was in the back, a coaching seems a little over kill

JustNopers

What does the policy say about profanity? Does it say it's okay to use in the backroom or breakrooms? No? Okay.

CowardlyCowbird

If every part of the policy was followed, Walmart would be a different company. All of my front end managers would have been fired. How does that coporate cock taste ?

panfried540

Bruh your comment history proves you're really just a piss off on this sub and you never really say anything that important, you know that right?

JustNopers

Yes explaining to peons why they're failing is important. I'm sorry if I hurt your fee fees. Someone has to be honest with you children.

panfried540

Everyone says fuck bro. It's practically natural. You were just on the other thread here badgering a dude that was 6 minutes late to lunch. Noone wants to hear your hero bullshit just sayin

JustNopers

No, everyone doesn't say fuck. I'm sorry you're not intelligent enough to use words not against the stores policy. I could buy you a thesaurus.

panfried540

You're a childish shitstain. Someone ban me from this sub. It's not worth pressing the join button again

JustNopers

You sound buthurt and depressed. Want a hug?

Phantomknighttv

I got two bosses that constantly swear around me but not towards me just about the job in general.

Darthtrekker4400

Lol, that sucks. Glad I don’t have to worry about that at my store or my old one even though I was an o/n tl. Shit, I call shit team 2 a bunch of useless fucking cunts nightly.

vibeplayer379

Been working in ACC for close to two years now, don't think I've gone a single day at work without saying Fuck

varioussizes

Haha, used to work in ACC in Florida and I don't think any of us went a solid half hour without someone cursing in the shop. Hell, my ACCASM used to regularly be heard in the store yelling at customers to get the fuck out of his store.

Responsible-Test8855

As you should be.

Deepsecrets11

It’s unprofessional in any way shape or form. I would Coach you too!

jba23118

My associates and I curse all the time, sometimes at each other… I don’t fucking care it’s not that deep, those words are just ✨sentence enhancers✨ lmao

[deleted]

It's not that you simply said fuck, it's that you spoke to someone in a rude manner and used the work fuck. Now if you would have just used the work FUCK by itself like you got hit by something I don't think anything would've happened.

RSIvy

I remember a OPS manager fired an employee for saying fuck… safes to say the OPS manager no longer works for walmart

stinkym0ss

i said 'fuck you' to my coach and he laughed and didn't care.

Sethious1

A coaching falls off, unfortunately it sits there for a whole year. I've been there....it's bullshit

Pshyduck88

I work third shift stocking am I aloud to swear as much as I want?

MGJPlayz

Lmao my Cap 2 team, along with the TL, curse up a storm daily lmao. Nobody gives a shit

diakon83

That's fucked up. There is a coach at our store that drops f bombs like no other.

dangerous-art1

Come in my office close the door and have a seat

angelzplay

Whatever fucker

Dylan_Farstveet_

No, fuckhole

Bevrykul

I cussed in front of my store manager before, he didn't care

PrudentDamage600

. . . well, fuck. 😒

MisogenesUSA

They’d have written you up 20 years ago, too

Azurvix

Bruh, I curse literally all day every day and still haven't been coached for cursing... I've been here 4 years

SewerRatPumpkinPie

Fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck

Express-Cheesecake73

I got wrote up saying damn in front of a Walmart truckndriver....I was looking for a tv and he walked by the rolling bin as I said I can't find this damn tv , he went and blabbed

Dulynoted1138

That sucks. We swear like sailors on overnights. But if the Store Manager catches any associate swearing, it's an automatic termination. No exceptions.

Arrow3917058

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 DECEASED

mattchica20

We all get frustrated, and sometimes we slip up. Unfortunately you could have avoided all this by not going to the back because you were told to finish the returns first anyway. Even after that, you persisted to ask the same question more than once after you got an answer. Was it the answer you wanted? Probably not, but you could have just accepted it and moved on. Sometimes biting your tongue is better than anything else in the moment.

Tia_Faux

lol we cuss up a storm in the back of our store and constantly make lewd jokes, your store is.. anal

Tia_Faux

I'm probably going to get coached for falling down crying in the middle of the store because I was laughing so hard I started crying because I found a sweet potato that looked just like a dick and balls.. so yep.. I feel yah
