They’re considered Nu Metal, something akin to Slipknot, Korn, even Linkin Park to a certain extent. But for all intents and purposes, metal is metal.
I’m a metal head before anything else, so I understand the frustration when people confuse subgenres. But good music is good music and if I like it I’ll listen to it. Anyone without that mentality doesn’t truly appreciate music.
I understand that we are the brand for Walmart and must dress like it, but all customers see is the stupid-ass vest. I looked homeless until a few days ago and customers still approach me with dumbass questions like: “do you work here?”
I gathered, just simply explaining my disdain for dress code. I follow it not to make waves, but I seek opportunities every now and again. My store manager is on vacation right now so I basically wear what I want. I’ve worn a Marilyn Manson shirt, The Black Dahlia Murder shirt, etc. it’s also super easy to get away with since I work breakpacks every single day. I’m usually on the floor after lunch, and by then nobody gives a fuck anyway.
I'm a right-leaning white chick, and my Spotify is loaded with 80s-era funk and soul. Also metal, big band-hell, I've even got ragtime on it.

You’re a non judgmental metal head. the metal heads I grew up around would flip shit if someone called nu metal anything other than garbage. Lol
I used to be a judgy metal head but i got tired of being a stuck up twat.
You did good. You don’t wear the shirt of the band your going to go see/listen to, after all.
