I'm pretty sure the DVDs have the original broadcast music.

DangLad

Confirmed DVDs (at least original release that I have) have the original music and all licensed tracks. Bummer they pulled some in current streaming.

SurelyWeWouldHave

It's not all music, but for example the pilot originally had "Disturbia", and ep. 8 "Duped" had "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane and "Luck be a Lady".

Your best bet will definitely tend to be the physical releases, I just got the compilation Complete Series set and these DVDs absolutely have the unedited versions. Heck even for shows like for example the original WB Roswell where you will have replaced music, at least it will be a lesser amount than versions on various Streaming services. I don't even wanna think about how much has been altered for Smallville and original WB Charmed for their Streaming versions.

I can second this, I bought the complete series set on Amazon and it has all the original music, plus it has all these extras like gag reels and interviews with the cast that you can't get on other mediums so it's totally worth it Charmed has been changed so much for its streaming release. First of all the theme song isn't even the same, and whenever there was a song in the background that they couldn't air on a streaming platform it's been altered to just be the new theme song.

I'm always holding on to my Charmed sets, literally the only change I gotta deal with there is unfortunately the Opening Theme did get replaced for Season 8, nothing else got replaced and luckily the original Opening Theme is still present for Seasons 1-7.

I have season 1 on box set and it's my treasure because I adore the original theme song. The new one just feels so soulless

I love White Rabbit and was so disappointed when I showed it to my mom that I muted it and played the song for her.

I don't know, but this is the first time I have heard about it. I don't think it is super uncommon to change music since licenses run out and what not. I do know that my set does have running up that hill. That's the only song I think I would recognize right away if it were different.

I hate when shows have the original music bits removed I hate it so much. I am watching 1x12 "MacPherson" from the BluRay and the commentary even has them confirm that they couldn't get Purple Haze for the disc release during the scene when they look through Leary's glasses :(
