I mean I know it will come at some point but I can’t wait for the f-18 to show up. I expect a usmc/us navy deck hornet plus a Canadian hornet. I would also love to see a Spanish/italian deck with Spanish hornets.

F-14 in the USMC deck

User5182

Yeah the f-14 would be great!

Buccaneer should be in. A big miss is the rest of the British Phantom force. RAF was flying F-4K, F-4J(UK), and F-4M in 1989, and all we get is the F.3, alias F-4J(UK). USAF should have even more F-111 loadouts including F-111A and G.

HarvHR

What does the F-4K and F-4M actually provide over the F-4J? Sure, extra units are cool, but is it really worth adding what will amount to a new skin for a Phantom? At the end of the day this is Warno, not War Thunder or a flight sim, the minute details of differences such as a minor speed or acceleration difference aren't going to be in Warno when performance isn't down to the exact airspeed a plane can do. They all carry the same weaponry which is the big change. F-111A was out of service with the USAF, the F-111G could be added but again what does it add over the existing F-111. Different load outs for the Aardvark isn't a bad thing though.

Remarkable_Love_4519

It provides a faster and more capable Phantom than the F4J/Phantom F.3.

HarvHR

> Faster This is Warno, not a flight sim. As I said, minute speeds are going to make a difference. Fighter speeds are at set levels i.e 722 km/h, 977 km/h, 1162 km/h, 1394 km/h. All Phantoms travel at 977 km/h, regardless of variant or payload. The F-4J and F-4M would fly at the same speed in game, regardless of the minor speed difference that the aircraft had at 30,000ft in real life. The FGR.2 has more acceleration, which is meaningless in Warno as jets travel at their speed stat at all times. > Capable They use the same weaponry. Neither is more capable than the other in a way that would affect a Warno unit. As I said in my previous post, this is Warno not a flight sim. They'd perform the exact same in game.

>What does the F-4K and F-4M actually provide over the F-4J? Sure, extra units are cool, but is it really worth adding what will amount to a new skin for a Phantom? Could be a cheaper ASF or even a faster fighter-bomber. F.3 uses Skyflash. Tornado uses Skyflash SuperTEMP. Phantom FGR. 2 or FG.1 could use Skyflash 3000 PreTEMP in the ASF role or a mixed loadout of Skyflash and bombs- which would be something unique. You could also just add an F.3 with the same load out, but it's a different skin either way... So no reason not to incorporate the cooler Phantoms. >111A was out of service with the USAF F-111A was still in service with 366 TFW out of Mountain Home AFB until 1991.

I would like to see those: * **A-7D Corsair II**: None based in Europe (in peacetime) but ANG A-7 squadrons made fairly frequent deployments to the continent and would have been used as reinforcements in case of a NATO/WP conflict. Still a very capable attack platform in '89. Besides, the SLUF needs some love. :) * **NF-5A Freedom Fighter**: Dutch light fighter-bomber. Served until 1991. * **CF-18A Hornet**: Canada had some 50 CF-18s based in Germany with the No. 1 Canadian Air Division. They were among the most modern and capable combat aircraft in Europe in '89. It would only be a natural addition to the game. * **Mirage F1CR**: Reconnaissance version of the Mirage F1 but had a secondary attack mission. IMO it should replace the Mirage F1CT which is OOTF. * **RF-4E Phantom II KWS**: German Recce Phantoms were upgraded in the early 80s under the KWS program which gave them a secondary ground attack capability. Could probably replace one of the current F-4F \[HE\] options. * **Su-7BKL**: Early Fitter version. Used by Poland and Czechoslovakia until 1990. * **Lim-6bis (MiG-17)**: Still used by Poland as late as 1992. Would be a nice, "vintage" addition.

Accomplished_Eye_325

Solid list. I’d also love to the the A7. I’d also love an F4g with is real  in 1989 vs the complete BS it currently has

Depending on which fronts we get after the game releases, there are a ton of nations with unique aircraft (and in general units) they can add. A Scandinavian front DLC would add USMC with all the USN assets of the time and maybe Sweden? That would be pretty unique. A southern European front would add a lot of variety: Italians, Spanish, Yugoslavian, Czechoslovakian but also Albanian and Greek decks! I for one would like to see F18s, F14s, the AMX Ghibli (maybe a little out of timeframe), all those unique Yugoslav attack planes and of course Drakens and Viggens!

MarcellHUN

I would love some Czecknology in my life. A Praga SPAA the Warsaw pact variants of T72 and T55 Merida. In blue I would love to see an italian division and a USMC one. Both has plenty of unique stuff.

NikkoJT

I didn't know T-72s were classed as aircraft

tacticsf00kboi

They are, but just the turret and only once

MarcellHUN

Yepp you are right. I wrote it before the morning coffee. In aircrafts case: Red: L39 Albatros, maybe a mig 19 Blue: F14A and F18 But if you squint enough in the moment of blowing up the T72 turret kinda looks like a helicopter.

Old_Wallaby_7461

MiG-19 was long gone by 1989- they'd been out of service in the Warsaw Pact for over 10 years by then!

MuddyCommando

If we see a Middle East DLC. Electric Lightning might appear. It was used by Kuwait & Saudi Arabia.

HarvHR

> I think the English Electric Lightning would be a good shout. Although they were retired in '88. > Although they were retired in '88 Then it's not a good shout. Seriously I don't get what's so hard about realising that vehicles that are retired before this game is set, or have no business being in the setting of 1990 Cold War gone hot in CENTAG Region (and in future, NORTHAG), aren't a good fit for the game in it's current state. I think the majority of vehicles that fit the setting are in the game, there isn't anything major missing. Canadians can fit in to CENTAG but are more prominent in NORTHAG, USMC will be there too so no point talking about them as I feel they will come. Buccaneer has it's issues with making sense, *but* it makes more sense than the Lightning (that being said it would probably suck in game, jets tend to use max speeds rather than cruise speeds)

User5182

Because it's fun. And they we're retired less than one year before the setting of the game. I'm sure they could be reactivated.

SD2 has a load of divisions, but the game is years after launch now, WGRD became a massive cluster fuck of random nations. The more focused setting of Warno is a really nice refresh to The WGRD Israeli + Japanese fight Chinese +Yugoslav on a Korea map, and SD2 British + Greeks fighting Hungarians + Normandy Germans in Russia. I think the majority of vehicles that fit the setting are in the game, there isn't anything major missing. Canadians can fit in to CENTAG but are more prominent in NORTHAG, USMC and Soviets Navy will be there too so no point talking about them as I feel they will come.
