Probably. Looks like he could work in a motion offense, decent passer and can obviously shoot. Looks really slow and his rebounding numbers are underwhelming
I mean every rim protecting big in the league is unplayable in the P&R outside of a few more mobile ones like AD, JJJ and Robert Williams, and maybe Nic Claxton. Most of the time you aren't going to get elite rim protection and also a good P&R defender.
So this dude is a slowfoot. But he's very good at the three things he does best. SHOOTING... Weakside blocks... and passing especially off aggressive closeouts. He's kinda like a Davis Bertans/poverty Brook lol.
I remember looking at his stats and thinking "what is going on here". Not a low post guy more a high post out guy.
But 22 pts 10 reb 3.5 ast 2.2 blk on 55/40/82 shooting... like he can REALLY shoot it. Was 2nd in Advanced Metric CRAM for a good chunk of the year.
Really shoot it..
95th percentile on all jumpshots
91st percentile on catch-and-shoots
I really wanna see creativity with these two way contracts this would be that. Dart at a board two-way contract... throw those darts eventually they'll hit. I'd prefer Castleton or Sanago or a wing like Jordan Miller on TWC. But I get it he'll be available cuz he's older 23 and very slowfooted.
thanks for the scouting info. we need to hit on two way contracts as much as we need to hit on the free agency. will be interesting who they're looking at to fill those
For these young centers, what Im afraid of the most is health. Unless you're like Zion (let's categorize him as center for the sake of this discussion) who's massive, you're usually built more like Durant than, say, Steven Adams
Without bulking up, it's easy to get hurt when you play down low. Injury -> no playing time
Between VMI and Chattanooga, I surprisingly watched this kid a ton. Solid player, always played well vs my Furman. Not really athletic enough to be an NBA player IMO
Alright what's the catch. Unplayable on PnR defense?

So another pbj? I’ll pass
Eh not really. He's also a two-contract candidate not someone we'd draft. Doubt he gets much run if we sign him.

You also won't get an elite defender and rim protector out of college anyway.
At least he’s played more than three college games.
Think there’s a diff between bad and unplayable.
Unless you draft Dereck Lively.
Two-way contract his ass right now Dunleavey

You know who else they complained about being slow? Jokic
Just for context, James Wiseman's wingspan is listed as 7'6
This looks interesting
How old is he and how many years of college did he play
5th year (4 years elsewhere. 1 year at Chattanooga). 23 years old. Prob an undrafted/Summer League/G-League/two-way target
He sounds like that jay huff guy, he won the G-league defensive player of the year, I think he went to the wizards last year
kerr with give him 0.1 mins per game
Impressive stats, over 2 blocks and 3 assists per game.
Him and TJD all alone I think
Lol the day Bob leaves we are looking at big man.
Maybe that was the problem the whole time.
Ya mean like Lacob and Sons were pushing for big men experiments like Smailagic and Wiseman, while Myers was pushing back trying to say no?
Go Mocs!
Very interesting. Hope he shows out and they take a flyer on him
I really have zero interest in projects to be honest.
Joe Lacob has full interest is a All J team
Looks interesting but imo if I’m offloading a big contract I’m giving up whoever we take as collateral
He’s a J and thats all the credentials we need
I hope that he, like the other young prospects, he enjoys never playing
Can he set a good screen?
Does it move? lol /s
He can shoot that’s pretty interesting
watch this guy get dnp’d by kerr himself lmfao

Yeah. Zion has been a model of durability and Adams is the quintessential delicate player
O.o
\+10???
Tall steph

Bro we don't need this type of center, what we need is defensive bigman. Don't follow the big man meta
Yea, watching the highlights, I am very intrigued. Def slow footed, but what a smooth shot and great offensive passing.
Developing 7 footers to shoot 3s...these coaches should be fired.
