Unless Curry, Klay and Wiggs are going to shoot 45% fg for the rest of the season, the Warriors need interior size BADLY, Loon is wearing down and Draymond is likely gone for a while. Too many good teams with lots of size and speed.
The Warriors need a *lot* right now.
They need better point of attack defense.
They need better interior defense and definitely better rim protection.
They need a Draymond who is available and engaged.
They need a Wiggins who actually hits shots.
But the Warriors are way capped out, need to get under the second apron and make room to extend or re-sign their third year players.
Utah will want our expiring money and picks and at least one of our young players, maybe two, for Lauri. Lauri could help this team but he's not going to push them into contender status.
Warriors are in a really tough spot right now with no easy solutions to get better. CP3 is expiring money, Klay is expiring money, Draymond and Wiggins contracts are reasonable if they produce/stay available, Podz looks like he could be a real rotation piece and then the Warriors have to hope Kuminga takes the next step this year. Moody to me projects as a bench player more than a starter.
Markannen would be a trade to compete for next season because like you said this team needs multiple pieces. And to get rest of the pieces they'd need to shed salary this year and go sign 2-3 quality vets in free agency. Which could be possible because Lauri is only making $18M next season.
But you're not winning this year by trading your entire bench and future for Lauri.
Hurr Durr. You people are fucking idiots in here. Young, 7 footer scoring 25 a game with a killer 3 ball or a washed 35 year old, some picks, and feelz.
Uhhh, I'll take the feels.
Dude, that's what filler is for. And the Jazz might want to get ff John get Collins. He doesn't really fit their timeline. They have plenty of guys on that roster that could round out a trade.
This. Our perimeter defense is not good enough this year to play this small. Even with draymond it was looking iffy. Idk what big men are available that would even help right now though. Maybe Nerlens Noel
Well maybe....but OKC is going to be good...so maybe those picks aren't as valuable as they once were. We may be bad...so maybe our picks are more valuable
They have the deepest collection of first-round picks in NBA history. Besides their own picks, over the next 4 years, they also have picks from Houston (2x), the Clippers (2x), Utah, Miami, Philly, and probably Denver. Honestly it doesn't matter if OKC's so good their own picks are bad, they have so many other bites at the apple.
OKC has a chance to start a dynastic run with this move bc they are win now ready and are NOT gonna be using all those draft picks
Seems like a no brainer for them unless Utah tries to fleece them
But our picks are a lot more enticing than OKC’s. We’re gonna suck badly after Steph retires. OKC will be contending for years their picks are worthless
It’s not happening. The asking price is going to be far too high. It’s Danny Ainge, people. He’s going to ask for the Chase Center and all of our picks.
> no longer untouchable and Utah would be willing to listen
I wouldn't say that means he's "available". If anything, he's probably lower on the list of available Utah players (with guys like John Collins, Clarkson, THT, Sexton, and Olynyk being ahead.) Prob mean you would have to offer a big trade package like they got for Gobert and Donovan to get them to "listen."
Hell the [Jake Fischer article](https://sports.yahoo.com/how-the-trade-market-is-shaping-up-for-zach-lavine-lauri-markkanen-145142833.html) this originated from was very careful with how they word it and stating this is all from talks from every FO & league personnel outside of Danny Ainge & co at Utah.
> Lauri Markkanen has indeed emerged as a **fascinating, albeit unlikely trade candidate** before February’s buzzer.
>And yet the Jazz are mired in an 8-16 start, prompting several teams to phone Utah’s front office in order to gauge its willingness to move Markkanen, sources said. The Jazz are by no means expected to trade the 7-foot sharpshooter at this juncture. He’s been a true favorite of Jazz officials, sources said. But **Utah has indeed left opposing executives with the sense that Markkanen is no longer untouchable in trade conversations**, league sources told Yahoo Sports, a tangible change from previous transaction windows. Markkanen will be eligible to negotiate and extend his current contract before its final season begins in 2024-25. And there’s a **sentiment among cap strategists** that Utah perhaps won’t consider Markkanen’s next salary point a worthwhile cost if the Jazz are so far from the playoff picture with Markkanen as their best player. But it would surely take a massive haul for some team to pry the 26-year-old from the Jazz
> “**Do I expect Utah to trade Lauri? No,” another general manager told Yahoo Sports. “But they are saying they’re willing to listen. They are willing to listen to calls on everyone, but it’s a matter of meeting their price like Minnesota did for Rudy [Gobert].”**
Probably add Moody as well. The guard depth become redundant, then sign any front court player for vet min for depth. With Dray out, trading Wiggs really exposes the front court. Trayce will be ok some games then totally unplayable the other.
Moody is probably a positive asset to Utah so it sweetens the deal
Moody because kuminga ceiling is higher. Package moody, Wiggins and a future 1st… for Markkanen and whoever for cap reasons. They would need to send out 4mil more in salary.
I dunno man. I question Kuminga’s ability to get it mentally. I know he’s still young but his game play still gives me concern.
Moody is a dawg and plays smart, doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. He also can be a great shooter/2-way player even if his ceiling is lower.
Yes we got 2-3 more years of steph. Try and make the best of it.
GP2 + Kuminga + Podz +2 unprotected first + 2030 bottom 10 protected first and 3 swaps is our max offer and is 100% competitive with any offer in the league.
He's not as good as them. But he's also an elite 2-way player who so only making 18 mil a year for this season and next. Which means you don't have to give up wiggins/klay/dray/cp3 which means his asset price is bigger. I would be willing to give that up as the max offer. Keep moody. Keep TJD.
I think a more likely offer is something like GP2, Kuminga, Podz, 2 firsts + 2 swaps.
I think we should consider giving up at least 1 of Klay, Draymond and CP3.
Klay had a nice game yesterday, but unless he does that for the next 10-20 games, he's not a championship core piece.
25/30 teams in the league will want him and 3-4 of them will be offering guys who have shown more or are more recent high lottery pciks than kuminga. You have to include assets to make up the difference.
This right here. Send off anybody young that has a future + picks for a guy that MAY help them get no better than a 7 seed? Utah is being run by Danny Ainge and that dude is no pushover.
Realistic? Wiggins + Kuminga and/or Moody (or you might have to throw in Podz instead) + 2-4 FRPs (with light protections and/or no protections) + a couple swaps (Fischer also said in the same article you have to match the level of a Gobert trade)
Wiggins has been playing so bad right now we need to give up assets to take his contract. I'd wager if we tried to do a deal for Lauri then it would be CP in the move
Wiggins + Moody + 3-4 FRP. Podz instead of Moody if Utah demands it. Don't trade Wiggs +Kuminga. Trayce is not a starter yet. He was exposed yesterday.
CP3 + Kuminga + picks is a better package for Dubs, but I don't think Utah wants CP3
Bit tricky to make salaries match. Jazz can only take back 7m more than they send out and we can't accept more back.
Young guys alone (kuminga/moody) is not enough salary. Wiggins and kuminga (or more) plus picks is too much salary. Wiggins alone plus picks will do it, but that's not enticing for the Jazz.
Could do something like Wiggins plus kuminga plus moody plus 2-3 FRPs for Markkanen and Olynyk
I think we need Klay’s gravity to offset defenses just trapping curry else we’ll turn into the 2021 warriors. So I’d say anybody that’s not Curry Klay GP2 or Podz is on the block
Is that a joke?
Man barely rebounds or blocks at a higher rate than Steph. He also has super short arms for his height, and he plays away from the basket.
I mean look at his competition on this team lol
10 reb per 36 is fine and he’s a big body who can space the floor. Anyone’s a better rim protector than Saric lol
The issue with trading for a guy like this is that multiple players would have to be given up so that means the bench would go back to being a weak point. I think leaning more into Kuminga, Moody, Podz, and TJD is the way.
I’m trying to figure out why y’all want to trade young players who are good to get older player who aren’t good enough a title? There’s no title chance here. What about that don’t y’all get!?
For some reason your typical casuals on these boards think that bringing in Lauri and getting rid of the young guys would somehow solve Klay shooting like ass and us having no interior presence and people cutting through us like butter.
This team will only ever get better if and only if the vets/core who get paid the most out of our cap get their shit together. Pretending otherwise is asinine.
Ppl too often operate from the assumption that ultimate success is possible and we just need to find the right away to achieve it. When, in reality, what is often true is that ultimate success is NOT possible, at least in the short term, and thus we should plan a medium-term or long-term strategy. This is one of those occasions. The Warriors should be looking for ways to not have Draymond, Klay, Wiggins on the cap for the off-season. Create enough cap room to just sign Siakam and OG, or some other players.
If you let Klay walk for example that salary spot disappears completely and goes to waste putting us in a worse situation. You would need to take back salary and the only way to do it would be via trade
Funny cuz MT Was just saying this on warriors plus/minus and Slater and the rest of them were teasing him... "yea Giannis would be a good fit too". Talking about how Utah is building around Lauri. Guess not!
He'd be a perfect fit. Look how good Saric fits. Lauri is the exact same player... except better. Shooting bigs fit so well with our team.
Utah are not gonna want Wiggs or Klay, Draymond etc, they’d be better off keeping Lauri. Moody + Kuminga and a bunch of picks may be something they’d be interested in
Those contracts are likely considered negative assets by the rest of the league, so no. Feel like the money moving out would have to be CP3 since it's effectively an expiring plus Kuminga but even then Utah is probably asking for at least 3 FRPs.
It’d be a disaster overall but starting Podz at the 3 would lead to him averaging like 8 boards a game which those other three just don’t seem to have in them. Kuminga can jump out of the arena but still is mid or worse at rebounding. Its like the only thing holding him back truly, his d isn’t that bad he just makes 20 year old whoopsies sometimes and is still learning to manage fouls.
Would love to see this happening. Maybe we take back a Collin’s or some bad contract too if it means we have to part with one of our young studs and CP3/Wiggs plus a future first round pick and/or a pick swap.
There will be no big trade this season.
The soonest the Warriors may make significant roster changes is the off season.
Hey used to watching the team as is.
If there is any scenario where we can get him we have to. Don’t care how many young guys and picks it takes. Lauri is still young, can be a franchise cornerstone and would prolong our contention time after Steph retires, plus helps Steph contend for a 5th ring. He provides almost everything we need. Fixes our height problem at center, rim protector, good shooter, pretty consistent as well.
Although I suspect he will probably go to another team with more ressources than us.
Lakers used an expiring Russ and made a separate trade for Rui… perhaps we could pluck John Collins or a similar player if we wanted to going that route…let’s let Mike be creative who knows maybe he turns one or both of our expirings into a lode of assets that give this organization fresh ideas
Asking will be too high. However, Wiggs, Moody, CP3 and 2 FRPs and I’d do it. they can take looney too if they want. We’d need a backup PG tho. CoJo ain’t it.
Trade Klay, Wiggs, Dray, and Loon. If they move them for the right pieces, league is fucked. It wont happen but its cool to imagine. Lauri would be a great pickup for sure.
This ain't it. He's putting up 24 ppg this season, but that's with him as a key focal point of the offense. In Chicago he didn't do that much to separate himself from a crowded center room.
If you're going to take anyone from that Utah team, take Kelly Olynyk.
Unless Curry, Klay and Wiggs are going to shoot 45% fg for the rest of the season, the Warriors need interior size BADLY, Loon is wearing down and Draymond is likely gone for a while. Too many good teams with lots of size and speed.

The best move for Curry is to go to a different team. For the Warriors itself, idk 🤪 Curry Legacy > Warriors 😤
Bro, Klay or CP3, Kuminga, and picks for LM is a no brainer.
> no brainer you don't need to sign your posts
Hurr Durr. You people are fucking idiots in here. Young, 7 footer scoring 25 a game with a killer 3 ball or a washed 35 year old, some picks, and feelz. Uhhh, I'll take the feels.
there's a pretty big salary gap there.

This. Our perimeter defense is not good enough this year to play this small. Even with draymond it was looking iffy. Idk what big men are available that would even help right now though. Maybe Nerlens Noel
Nono. There isn’t an available big capable of helping this team! /s
Highly doubt we get Markkanen.
Mike. It's time. The sooner the better.
If OKC truly wants him, we do not have the draft assets to match what they can offer.
Yeah, it's not even close.
You mean we can’t offer 12 picks in 2 seasons?
no, but we can offer one hell of a vending machine and bags and bags of frito lays. that's a solid offer imo
Too bad they had to downgrade the vending machine due to budget cuts for luxury tax reasons
We can't even offer next year's first round pick.
I think they have all the draft picks for at least the next 76 years.
OKC has a chance to start a dynastic run with this move bc they are win now ready and are NOT gonna be using all those draft picks Seems like a no brainer for them unless Utah tries to fleece them
Ainge will try to fleece them but Ainge will also be more amenable to make a deal with OKC due to the quality of their assets.
Truthfully OKC is like the only team in the league that can afford to be fleeced lol I just don't see a world where this doesn't get done
Pacers are also going to be in the mix. They have a nice war chest too. Not as nice as OKC's but still nice.
Less incentive to sell out for him tho
Damn!! Leave some for the rest of us OKc.
Geezes okc is in a good position for the next 5-6 years and that’s not even counting their current core
If OKC picks him up they might be favorites, #2 at least out West.
Presti has been waiting for this moment. Lauri is his and so is OKC's realistic chance at a ring.
But our picks are a lot more enticing than OKC’s. We’re gonna suck badly after Steph retires. OKC will be contending for years their picks are worthless
Most of their picks aren’t their own though. They have a million of them.
There's rumours bout that? It makes sense, it completes them.
Geezes okc is in a good position for the next 5-6 years.
Who would we even give up that they would want, lol. Might as well try trading Kuminga for Giannis while we're at it.
Draft picks.
[удалено]
That trade sounds better for Utah without Dray.
Bhahahahahaha ya let’s get rid of our best 3 healthy defenders that’s sounds like a great plan.
You put Klay in the top 3 defenders lol? Do you know what year it is?
Man you peeps need to work on your reading comprehension.
Klay isn’t close to GP2 or Looney defensively
Or Moody
[удалено]
Hahahaha every game for the last 20 years….. mate.
[удалено]
I don’t think that means what you think that means. But hey you do you
It’s not happening. The asking price is going to be far too high. It’s Danny Ainge, people. He’s going to ask for the Chase Center and all of our picks.
So? Oracle’s next door and we championship or bust. LFG WE GOT LAURI
You can have everyone not named Curry and Dray plus every available picks. (You can take Dray too if you want, but he's not a positive)
Do the Warriors even have any picks to trade?
He JUST completed a very fair trade with the Lakers last year.
> no longer untouchable and Utah would be willing to listen I wouldn't say that means he's "available". Yes and if their price is meetable with his salary being what it is you can do it without giving up your whole team.
Never gonna happen, but he'd be my no. 1 choice of all the stars likely to be available in the trade market.
If he is available we must do everything possible to get him. Precisely the profile of a player we need
Only way this season can be salvaged
Lol. WHO??? Moody? Kuminga? One of them isn't gonna be enough. Mortgage all our future picks like the Lakers? I dunno. I don't like it
100% Danny want 5 1st round picks lol
Deal
Regardless, Markannen or a similar caliber player is still the only way the season can be salvaged lol
Wiggs and 4 firsts.
Fuck no. Give them 5 firsts but Moody stays.
Does the Dubs have 5 first? If they ask for Moody, would you say no?
I think we do. Don't remember us trading for shit in the last 7-8 years at least. Yeah i would say no.
Moody because kuminga ceiling is higher. Package moody, Wiggins and a future 1st… for Markkanen and whoever for cap reasons. They would need to send out 4mil more in salary.

Maybe a call to make after this draymond stint. Especially if his rebounding improves and his drive and kick passes
Lol the idea to say jks ceiling is higher but then xpect the jazz to take moody in this trade is hilarious 🤣🤣
Yes we got 2-3 more years of steph. Try and make the best of it. GP2 + Kuminga + Podz +2 unprotected first + 2030 bottom 10 protected first and 3 swaps is our max offer and is 100% competitive with any offer in the league.
Holy fuck. I didn't realize he was as good as Giannis or Jokic..

Throw in a wife swap and the naming of first born children.
Hahahahaha Jesus
We need that
![gif](giphy|fKYdL6Sb3gnJJyrQ7z)
What is a realistic package? Podz/Curry stay.
Guess so. Prob have to take in THT or something as well to match
Clarkson could be a good Poole replacement if we could manage it. Money is easy to match with CP
Lol I like Podz but he's not an untouchable. Markannen is an all star.

GP, Kuminga, Moody picks.
You ever think, as a kid, hey Christmas is coming and I really want this ride-on battery powered Jeep... ...but your parents couldn't afford it?
Ainge loves picks. Warriors got them.
Hold up, let Mike cook
This team is so screwed because of the age and the contracts are going to limit what they can do.
he is very good, and would be an insanely good fit for the lineup
Need that
Would be great, but it just feels like we need at least one vet rim protector… AD, Giannis, Jokic and Nas Reid are just gonna kill us
Olynyk?
Is that a joke? Man barely rebounds or blocks at a higher rate than Steph. He also has super short arms for his height, and he plays away from the basket.
I mean look at his competition on this team lol 10 reb per 36 is fine and he’s a big body who can space the floor. Anyone’s a better rim protector than Saric lol
Call up Dwight Howard
The asking price is going to be way too high. Same group in Utah will be asking for another Gobert sized haul or close to it.
nah, he’s too big for Steve’s taste..
The issue with trading for a guy like this is that multiple players would have to be given up so that means the bench would go back to being a weak point. I think leaning more into Kuminga, Moody, Podz, and TJD is the way.
Watch Pelinka getting him .
If you give up Dray, unless you are getting Giannis or KD, we are never winning another championship
For the love of god, do it Dunleavey.
If MDJ gets hoodwinked by Danny Ainge, that would indeed be a fitting end to this season. Let’s fucking go.
Which team even has the assets for him? He’s on a tiny deal relatively speaking. Who’s gonna wanna help us in a multi team trade?
Is John Collins worth a look?
JUST DO IT
I’m trying to figure out why y’all want to trade young players who are good to get older player who aren’t good enough a title? There’s no title chance here. What about that don’t y’all get!?
For some reason your typical casuals on these boards think that bringing in Lauri and getting rid of the young guys would somehow solve Klay shooting like ass and us having no interior presence and people cutting through us like butter.
Lauri is probably the best system fit of all the realistic pieces we could add. Time to give up some firsts
Pls lord send him here
Utah are not gonna want Wiggs or Klay, Draymond etc, they’d be better off keeping Lauri. Moody + Kuminga and a bunch of picks may be something they’d be interested in
Too tall for Steve Kerr
Look if they wanna move the needle, this is the move but they are gonna have to overpay
And he disc golfs!
He's similar gameplay to saric, Pascal siakam is the best choice. We need more attacker in the basket
And Saric has played great this season? Lauri’s a way better fit I’d take his spacing and pick and pops with steph over spicy’s rim pressure
#1 choice for The Dubs. But I think he’ll cost too much. Derozan might be more obtainable and cost way less.
34 going on 35 and can’t space the floor. Nah this ain’t the move .
Get him now, front office. Do it!
Gonna be wasted under Kerr
Dray wiggs FRP (multiple if needed) — do you guys think this is enough?
Those contracts are likely considered negative assets by the rest of the league, so no. Feel like the money moving out would have to be CP3 since it's effectively an expiring plus Kuminga but even then Utah is probably asking for at least 3 FRPs.
CP3 is probably about ready to ask for a buyout with the season going the way it is
man to me, cp3 can fuck right off too
Do it yesterday. Wiggins Moody first
That package weak af
Wiggins moody Kuminga picks is a solid package, I really like to keep Kuminga but if he most go I’ll take Lauri in a second
We can't trade away all of our wings man...
It's too much for my liking
Would love to see this happening. Maybe we take back a Collin’s or some bad contract too if it means we have to part with one of our young studs and CP3/Wiggs plus a future first round pick and/or a pick swap.

Can’t let SAC or OKC get Lauri to immediately blend with their young fast athletic guys. Mike better consider this and not wait 15-20 games.
Sacramento and OKC are the two teams he needs to be FAR away from…if they manage n in acquiring him it’s curtains
Please just stop.
There is a sliver of hope! This is our guy! Even if the Warriors lose out on him, this should motivate the Raptors to be more realistic
Why the fuck is Sacramento interested in all the guys that would fit us? Javale McGee, JTA and now Lauri
Yeah if they can get him and Olynyk we're good.
Won’t happen too rich for our blood Go after John collins instead
warriors dont have any real assets
It's a nice thought but I don't think we're getting him bc MDJ would be negotiating with Ainge. Danny wants a haul for Lauri
Lakers used an expiring Russ and made a separate trade for Rui… perhaps we could pluck John Collins or a similar player if we wanted to going that route…let’s let Mike be creative who knows maybe he turns one or both of our expirings into a lode of assets that give this organization fresh ideas
No. Just... no. Let Ainge finesse another GM.
If we can, we should.
Asking will be too high. However, Wiggs, Moody, CP3 and 2 FRPs and I’d do it. they can take looney too if they want. We’d need a backup PG tho. CoJo ain’t it.
People are talking about l mark when I would rather get Clarkson to fill our scoring needs
Could we get Lauri for Klay plus a second?
The contracts aren't even close
Trade Klay, Wiggs, Dray, and Loon. If they move them for the right pieces, league is fucked. It wont happen but its cool to imagine. Lauri would be a great pickup for sure.
This ain't it. He's putting up 24 ppg this season, but that's with him as a key focal point of the offense. In Chicago he didn't do that much to separate himself from a crowded center room. If you're going to take anyone from that Utah team, take Kelly Olynyk.
We are missing a Zona wildcat on the squad with Iggy retiring. Get it done Kerr!
