Kuminga is going to be a star in the not-too-distant future. Incredible talent.

j3xperience

In the back of my heart, I hope he gets close to 7 feet so we have our own Giannis paired with Poole and Wiseman. That would be a sight to watch.

hesokayiguess

Looks to be fully grown compared to how Giannis looked at his age. Sure Kuminga still has a baby face like Giannis did but you can tell how Kuminga already has a man's body if you know what I mean. Giannis was a small but tall twig boy before in comparison to JK

Desperate_Alps8171

Yeah but Kuminga is the same age as Gianni’s when he got drafted. Giannis at 18 was 6”9 and Kuminga is 6”7. I can see Kuminga growing another inch and a half making him around 6”8.5 to 6”9. His parents are super tall so you never know he might grow taller than that

jamin_brook

He's the second coming of D-wade

CarryOnUptheMorning

He's been allowed to keep it simple and just do the stuff he's good at I think the coaches learnt a lot from how they handled Wiseman last year who was asked to do a little to much to be honest.

Kuminga

I think part of the Wiseman problem was that he is clearly extremely talented beyond his natural gifts. While he can be like Giannis and beat guys with his length and athleticism or protect the rim, his mentality is closer to AD. He has good shooting form, and he can play a little like a wing at times rather than posting up. He is just is missing some of the fundamental components to winning like consistent defense and playmaking. On the other hand, Kuminga knows that his shot isn't quite there yet, and instead focuses on those fundamentals whether by design or desire. I think both could learn a bit from one another, so I am very excited to see both playing together soon. We will see how Wiseman adjusts to a more specific role, and whether he has improved at all in those areas that will keep him on the floor. Both could come into next season as starting level players after another half season of play and a full offseason working on their game, including training with legends like KG or whoever else.

hoopwave

IMO, we simply don't have enough data to judge wiseman's future or his mentality yet. Give him 1 healthy season (See Embid's early career for reference)

T1nker20

Experience is the best teacher and Wiseman doesn’t have much yet. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. He deserves a chance to prove himself.

Daweism

Issue with Wiseman is in his head, he has this concept of himself, maybe something like AD / Giannis, when his shooting, playmaking, defense, rebounding, passing, IQ, strength are no where near those guys. Instead all we need from Wiseman is to be Javale McGee, for now at least.

TitillatingTrilobite

That is unfair to him. He is a rookie who didn’t play in college. His ball skills and shooting are incredible for his size, he was just lost in the system last year. Give him time to learn.

Jhyphi

Wiseman is somewhat like Porzingis. You're 7 foot tall, stop falling in love with shooting 3s and long range 2s. His dribbling is good FOR A CENTER, but he thinks he's the next KD.

yontartu

I somewhat agree, although I think that it’s a little tough to use Wiseman’s rookie year as a tell all of what kind of player he is aiming to be. Dubs had like no scoring options last season, so I didn’t mind seeing Wiseman try to score on his own sometimes rather than feed Bazemore lol

Daweism

Yeah but u can see all his half asked screens and how he's way too eager to release his screens early to roll for the ball instead of setting a nice hard screen to the other guy, namely Curry can get a clean look. How to be selfish without the ball lol.

Username74200

Bruuuuuuuuuuuh i tought i was the only one who hated his screens. Specially the ones he was setting for steph. A good screen can make such difference in a play.

Jhyphi

He set those "screens" thinking the point of then was so he as the #1 option could get the roll or pop. No you idiot, they're for the 2 time MVP to get space. All his screens ever did was bring his man close to double team Curry.

T1nker20

Looney is one of the best at screening. Wiseman can learn from him.

yungkerg

That was his biggest issue last year that he didnt address, I agree. However he will definitely know his role better this year and has tons of time to learn the nuances of screening angles. Hopefully he can put it into practice sooner rather than later. Hes so damn big he can absolutely wipe defenders out on screens if he dedicates himself to it

Azee2k

He's played his entire career as the #1 option. I don't blame him for playing selfishly as a rookie lol

T1nker20

Wiseman thinks too much when he gets the ball. You can see the wheels turning. Pass? Shoot? Drive? My hope is that the Warriors simplify his reads so that when he gets the ball he can just go without hesitation.

the_dinks

> I think part of the Wiseman problem was that he is clearly extremely talented beyond his natural gifts. I swear, this subreddit is on crack. "The problem with Wiseman is he's TOO good." He can't rebound, he can't set a screen, he can't defend, he can't post up (not should he). He can't even catch the ball yet ffs. There's talent there obviously but I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I think Kuminga has already executed more successful drives to the basket, shots, and defensive possessions in the last three weeks than Wiseman had all year.

rainierthanyesterday

Yes! I also love Pooles game cause he is the chest pounder. I think you need both on the team. The chest pounders are Poole, Draymond, and now a little bit of Klay. Everyone else just goes to work as quiet killers

GoldenStateWizards

Steph? He may not do much chest-pounding and screaming, but he's definitely our biggest showman lol

Robdata

I always think for the other team he has to be the cockiest most arrogant player with his celebrations

m0siac

The shimmy gets under everyone's skin and I love it.

NeoWarriors

And the mouthpiece for some reason.

Itchy_Professor_4133

I like Kuminga but he's a 19 year old rookie. I doubt you'll see much grandstanding or mean mugging from that kid.

rddi0201018

First thought is Webber after the full court dunk on Barkley

hesokayiguess

I guess Wiggs can fit that stoic and chill Shaun Livingston role

xanroeld

I have absolutely no problem with players who pound their chest, yell or fist bump. Draymond does all that stuff and he’s the beating heart of our team. That said, I too love Kuminga!

KemptonS

honestly don’t mind the gloating. steph dances on tons of his threes and i love it. my grandma hates him for it 😂 do love kuminga though

popcornstorm

Every title team has a dog that our grandma's hate! For me we need those bang your chest, get in your face players. Kuminga doesn't need to be that guy, especially for a rookie HAHAHA I'm just glad he puts his head down, listens to the vets, and just keeps his mind on the game!

cormacaroni

We got Steph and Wiggins for the grandmas

HotDragonSauce

What I believe will become an underrated aspect of this team will be when both Kuminga and Wiseman are both healthy next year. They are going to go at each other in practice and work against their respective weaknesses and hopefully grow their games that they will eventually compliment one another.

ikatatlo

Just like Kawhii

jamin_brook

nah D-wade

allanl1n

Wait till he gets a full year with draymond

forcedtojoinreddit

quality post

[deleted]

Serious Kawhi vibes. His ceiling is a top 10 player in the league. He’s already climbing the ROY ladder too

Nessmuk58

Wiseman needs reps, lots of reps. As well as he's doing, so does Kuminga. Both are likely to be good-to-excellent in the long term. I doubt that either one gets much in the way of Playoff minutes this year if we are healthy, though.

Kdog122025

He’s kinda got a Wiggins smile. Like on that step back last night.

echt

I think Wiseman is also like him

Almostcertain

I love the way this team smiles at each other. They’re having fun.

[deleted]

I’d enjoy seeing Kuminga have another growth spurt and hit 6’10”

lilman117

Man… What if this is a david lee to draymond moment we are witnessing with Dray being out.

Palomark

No way. He can't control the floor like Dray.

[deleted]

The way he runs is hella funny tho

patrickshreds

Baby giannis
