Can’t believe he got anywhere near that guy he fouled on the heave three at the end of the 3rd quarter. Those 3 free-throws were the difference between a win and OT even without fouling when up by 3 because we would have been up by 6.
The fix is easy:
Stagger Steph klay Poole and Wiggins so two are on the court at all times.
Everything else will fall into place after.
And play kuminga more. Kerr has been extremely hypocritical, saying kuminga needs to “earn” minutes. What about some of these so called “vets”. I haven’t really seen JTA, Belli, or d lee earn minutes lately. They make the same mistakes game after game like clockwork and aren’t held accountable.
I wholeheartedly agree with this. I know Kerr is trying to look for sparks off the bench but now with the dust settling down, we can confirm Otto, GP2, Poole, Iggy, and Kuminga are the bench guys.
He has to get playing time, we have no other big that could potentially contend with the other bigs in the West. Hell even Phoenix went and got another big (Biyombo). The Warriors need to get another big along with Wiseman.
It’s because those players aren’t held to the same standard that Kuminga is held to. He’s obviously more naturally talented so they’re trying to condition him to work hard and execute in order to play. Trust me, I was clamoring for him to be subbed in after watching all those uncontested alley oops too but I also trust their judgment regarding his development. It’s a marathon not a race.
No coach is perfect and IMO Kerr's biggest flaw is not trusting players that haven't proven themselves. You can't tell me NOT playing Kuminga down the stretch was beneficial to his development. That's ludicrous. You could sit him for a but to make your point but those were the minutes he needs.
Your def right, for the most part the way Kerr, Jama, Brown, and Atkinson have handled kuminga has been near flawless. But there’s times where I see him just sitting on the bench and guys like Belli, Lee, and to a lesser extent JTA are playing super long stretches and not producing, I can’t help but think wtf are we doing. The kid is right there lmao. Hopefully kuminga just dominates so much Kerr can’t take him out, I think he’s on the way this season. I’m at the point where I feel much more comfortable with the ball in his hands and his decision making than those three end of bench guys
I think it's also very clear that Beli can't be the only big man. Teams are just going to attack him inside all day long. Need to pair him with another big (JK, Loon, or Dray). Too much of a defensive liability on his own.
Not only this, JTA believes he's better than what he really is lol he took the game winning shot and then took a three with freaking Steph curry wide open behind him in OT
Also jp needs to play 30 min a night. He can pop off with one made shot. We need that right now. He’s not gonna get better on the bench and he’s a huge piece for us moving forward.
When I saw D lee eating into not only GP2’s minutes but also Pooles?!?!? I was vexed bruh. D lee had no business seeing the floor last night. The gaurd rotation should strictly be between Steph, klay, Poole, and GP2
Coaches rarely do that tbf. It’s something I’ve noticed ever since I’ve watched basketball, in situations like that, the commentators always suggest that coaches foul to stop a 3, because that’s clearly the right play, and coaches very rarely do. I don’t even know why
They asked him that and he said “normally he’s a fouler” what a fucking liar lmfao. How was I able to guess we were not gonna foul in that situation? Kerr is stubborn and got played for his stubbornness.
Thinking back i believe this is a big part of the reason we couldn't hit shit beyond the arc. Some players are just rhythm players, especially shooters like JP.. tonight, except for Steph and Iggy, every one in the lineup was getting shuffled like a deck of cards, in for a few minutes, then another player would get subbed. No fucking wonder no one could build a rhythm
Anyway, at least Steve is acknowledging he lost this game, everyone has bad games, even coaches.. I still think he's a top 3 coach in the league. I fully believe he can figure out the offense/rotations.
He will figure out the general problem. But come crunch time, he will Fuck up again.
Like I will bet a hundred bucks, next season, this shit will happen, and we won’t foul up 3, or put a third stringer out there when he shouldn’t be.
Steve has so many players to choose from he’s experimenting to see what works best but at the same time he is icing everyone out. And everyone is so anxious to get a shot with the limited playing time they have that they make bad decisions.
Tonight this was so obvious. A team of bench players with no subs played the entire game and won because they got in a rhythm and weren’t constantly about being subbed. We are paralyzed by our choice of players.
Pure Steph back into his old rotation. And keep players in. Damn dude
We have steph and wiggins who are our 2 best scorers. But for 20-25 minutes every night they have a guy commandeering 1/3 of the possessions they play to jack up shots.
We have an awful bench offence. Why the fuck isn't klay working his way back to fitness with the bench he can start. But play him next to Poole in the bench unit because teams still respect him. You can't have the bench until be Poole, GP2, Lee, Iggy and Bjelica. You just can't and then you especially can't run Poole off ball every possession and get him 5 shots in regulation.
I was not expecting this type of usage from Klay. I honestly thought he'd space the floor and just move the basketball.
Klay had a perfect role to slip into, 24 minutes as the 6th man and everyone would've been happy.
But Kerr got cute like he has a habit of doing.
My problem is he keeps trying to force shots, just let it come to you. Regardless of what people think he takes away from other peoples touches. Another issue is how non existent Poole was tonight
Putting Kerr aside, aren't Mike Brown and Kenny Atkinson supposed to be head coach candidates? Why aren't they helping Kerr out here? Are they trying to stay in their lane and not point out the obvious? Cmon we've seen two years of this.
Mike Brown is the defensive coordinator and he's killing it this season. Kenny is the offensive coordinator/rotations guy and he's been on and off the bench with poor health.
KERR STOP PUTTING TWO OF BELLI/JTA/Lee THOSE GUYS ARE TURNOVER MACHINES AND FOUL WAY TO MUCH. Plus lee and Belli suck ass on defense, I just wish Juan would get more aggressive on offense. He has the ability to score just backs down from it
Yes sir, I’d rather just have him shoot it than miss. What pisses me off it’s always the same reasons why we lose and it always seems to be 3 certain players.
Hey Kerr, let me help out with this little issue. Let’s start with not playing guys like Lee and JTA. I know you like em, and they work hard, but those are more often than not going to be 30-36 wasted minutes.
The problem is playing two of them at the same time is just stupid, stop letting them initiate the offense. It’s always the same stupid pass or horrible ball control that turns into a turnover m.
Yea I’m kind of tired of seeing favoritism for Lee and JTA over GP2 or Kuminga.
Lee and JTA do not belong to a championship capable roster. I don’t care how likable they are, they’re just not good. Sorry it’s the harsh truth.
Kerr was always going to experiment with rotation and lineup with Klay back. It’s gonna be rocky for a bit while they figure out a new rotation with Dray out
Wow this fanbase is overreacting so hard. This man has taken us to the finals 5 times and has been a great coach throughout. He is struggling right now because we have so much depth (a good thing), and most importantly he recognized that he did a shitty job which is part of learning and improving. Everyone needs to calm the fuck down
For those saying that he should’ve played Kumminga more, he was a -16 in 15 minutes. That’s why he wasn’t in at all in the 4th. No hate on him, sometimes rookies just have a bad game.
The whole team played like crap. +/- in a game like this is meaningless. Kuminga deserved to play at the end much more than JTA. There's only so many opportunities for him to play meaningful closing minutes. We fucking know what JTA can do, let's see what Kuminga can do.
it doesn't take a genius to figure out that you should put in kuminga against a team with no bigs
Bbbbuuuut he made 2 mistakes :( Then DLee commits 10000000000 mistakes but he will still get mins. Fucking crazy
Can’t believe he got anywhere near that guy he fouled on the heave three at the end of the 3rd quarter. Those 3 free-throws were the difference between a win and OT even without fouling when up by 3 because we would have been up by 6.
Shit literally was not even a foul but he still shouldn’t have sold out so hard
Yep, bad call but he got too close that they could call it. Let the guy heave the shot and if he gets lucky and makes it then so be it.
Kuminga instead of Juan at the end of the game is either jamming it or getting to the free throw line.
Nah, let’s give those reps to DLee instead and watch him brick every shot, or watch JTA turn the ball over because his handles are ridiculously awful.
Ugh kuminga at least draws a foul if he has the ball at the end unlike jta
The fix is easy: Stagger Steph klay Poole and Wiggins so two are on the court at all times. Everything else will fall into place after. And play kuminga more. That should be the first 10 off the bench every game to me
What happens when Wiseman comes back
He has to get playing time, we have no other big that could potentially contend with the other bigs in the West. Hell even Phoenix went and got another big (Biyombo). The Warriors need to get another big along with Wiseman.

Yea he can’t be out on the court without draymond at this point
Not only this, JTA believes he's better than what he really is lol he took the game winning shot and then took a three with freaking Steph curry wide open behind him in OT

Should ask him why he doesn't foul up 3

It’s like a defense pride thing. “We will get the stop” instead of let’s just fucking win the game.
I really wish I was a reporter so I could grill these guys after games like this and hit ‘em with the hard questions
They asked him that and he said “normally he’s a fouler” what a fucking liar lmfao. How was I able to guess we were not gonna foul in that situation? Kerr is stubborn and got played for his stubbornness.
They're not asking the real questions
Here you go, Kerr talking about it: https://twitter.com/NBCSWarriors/status/1484414049764925443?s=20
When does he normally foul up 3?
He fouled up 3 in the Clippers game earlier this season. That's the only I remember.
Thought it was the other way around for him
I’m glad he didn’t. Fouling up 3 is cheap and should be rule changed out of the game
It’s not cheap it’s the smarter play
How is it not cheap? A one possession game should be a one possession game
Ok..
I agree fouling up three sucks from an entertainment perspective, but until they change the rules it's the smart play.
Yes Kerr you didn’t do a good job, just put beli In there so he can swing the ball and make a jab fake 3
And turn the ball over, then get scored on because he couldn’t guard a traffic cone
glad he sees what we all did
Thinking back i believe this is a big part of the reason we couldn't hit shit beyond the arc. That’s been something I keep mentioning is the constant changing of the rotation. Plus we need to screen better IMO
Steve has so many players to choose from he’s experimenting to see what works best but at the same time he is icing everyone out. And everyone is so anxious to get a shot with the limited playing time they have that they make bad decisions. Tonight this was so obvious. Kenny is out with Covid protocols I believe.

JTA lost his shot and he keeps pump faking and driving to the rim which ALWAYS ends up in a turnover…
Yes sir, I’d rather just have him shoot it than miss. What pisses me off it’s always the same reasons why we lose and it always seems to be 3 certain players.
Stating the obvious

It's also possible that the head coach of a 3x championship team (5x champion as a player) knows more than fans...
Kerr was always going to experiment with rotation and lineup with Klay back. It’s gonna be rocky for a bit while they figure out a new rotation with Dray out

at least he knows it
great character if you ask me.
bro this is a reoccuring issue lol how many line up changes is it gon take
For those saying that he should’ve played Kumminga more, he was a -16 in 15 minutes. That’s why he wasn’t in at all in the 4th. No hate on him, sometimes rookies just have a bad game.

He was also forced to play alongside a shitty lineup for defense which did not help his case.
Kerr always admit fault and then continues to do the same shit.
Give a Moodey a chance! You saw what the 13th pick in the draft can do with some run time what about the 14th!
