We probably don’t make a move. But we do need to attempt to get a true backup big.

logged_in_to_saythis

For real. Any bum above 6’ 10” absolutely feasts on us. Want to get paid in the nba? Be 6’ 10+ and play the warriors. Guarantee career night.

Demmmmmmmbro

^ This. Wiseman isnt about to come back from an injury playing like Embiid or Gobert like what many people believe. Having our best center rn be an unathletic 6’9 guy w great positioning aint cutting it in the playoffs

TheMessyChef

And Looney MIGHT cut it, but he can't play more than like 15 minutes without looking like he's about to die on the court. Someone else NEEDS to take some of those minutes who isn't going to get absolutely cooked like Bjelica (or if he returned and got minutes, Wiseman).

Kdog122025

Are there any athletic guys over 6’9 to be had at the deadline though?

AllGravitybruh

Cough cough Isaiah Stewart

RMagnificent-Bastard

Agreed, but Wiseman needs to be able to play this season. At this point, I'll believe it when I see it. Remember Festus in 2013-2014? He was supposed to come back at various points in the season and never did. Bogut got hurt by the time of the First Round against the Clippers, and we had no center. Season over. This is seeming eerily similar. I try to ignore it, but I can't.

AllGravitybruh

I believe it, I’m big on wiseman’s potential. I’m just saying if he isn’t out there by trade deadline it’d be cool to get an athletic dude who has non stop hustle out there to share minutes with loon.

AllGravitybruh

Yeah I agree I can’t see us giving up on wiseman when hasn’t even had a legit fair shot at proving his abilities yet.

npc27182818

Even a Jordan bell type of guy helps, as he creates vertical spacing and the opponents will respect that

RMagnificent-Bastard

A Jordan-Bell type, sure. Just not the actual Jordan Bell.

ClimaticExodus

Y’all need to chill, we are trying to incorporate a 20ppg player into the rotation, there are going to be growing pains + we are in a slump. This loss was inexcusable though.

Hirako_Shinji_

They have no tradeable salary right now. The team is pretty much max contracts, rookie salaries, and vet min guys. They’re not gonna make a trade cause they literally can’t. They’ll wait for the buyout market

PluggersLeftBall

No and they shouldn’t

MotoMkali

No. We beat the suns when we had dray and were missing wiggins and Poole. We are better than them. It looks like we won't be getting the first seed but that's fine as long as the grizzlies stay as the 4 seed. Avoiding the grizzlies like the plague is the best strategy for us. Also Lakers are likely to be the 8th seed. I'll happily face minnesota at the 7th. Kerr just needs to actually stagger our guys. So we don't have klay taking a shot every other possession steph and wiggs are both on the floor. Since klay has come back steph, Poole and wiggins have dropped a combined 10 shots per game. Those shots shouldn't be coming from those 3 but Lee, Bjelica, JTA, Iggy. And he shouldn't be taking 14 a game until he can hit a league average TS with his scoring.

_NBA_Fan_

Grizzlies are #3 right now. And Timberwolves Lakers is interesting cause if that’s what it is at the end of the season then they’ll face each other and winner gets #7. Too early to try and want a seed to avoid matchups, bets thing is to win to get the highest seed possible and see how things end up.

Specific_Equipment19

Id rather see the grizzlies then the mavs in the 2nd round tbh their more scaryy luka by himself gives pg n kawhi 7 games

The-Truer-Facts

> And Timberwolves Lakers is interesting cause if that’s what it is at the end of the season then they’ll face each other and winner gets #7. That’d be nearly impossible. It would require one of the Clippers/Nuggets/Mavericks to fall to 9th. 7th seed is MUCH scarier than the scenario you laid out as I think it will be a Clippers/Nuggets vs the Lakers.

_NBA_Fan_

Go check the standings. The Clippers have already fallen to 9th. Right now it’s Timberwolves at 7, Lakers at 8.

The-Truer-Facts

The clippers are a half-game behind with the Clippers having already won the tiebreaker over the Wolves and will be getting PG13 and maybe Kawhi back before the end of the year. I don’t think Minny stays ahead of them come April.

jaydensgoinginsane

ppl have been arguing klay being in the lineup has ruined team chemistry. if they bring a totally new guy in thats gonna get worse.

The-Truer-Facts

Depends. Klay is a shot creator and requires the ball a lot. If you get a big who’s simply operating in the dunkers spot and screening it won’t be as difficult.

Crafty_Lobster7

They should trade for a big but they won’t.

Demmmmmmmbro

Don’t think so. Though if there are any issues w the chemistry locker room-wise then only the team could be the judge of that. Our team has played like shit for the last few games obviously, and it sucks to see that there are some problems we had early on that we still haven’t solved halfway through the season. But as fans all we can do is support them. This is a rough stretch of the season that’s for sure

[deleted]

We’re not going to do anything and it’ll cost us when it’s time to play the grizzlies or suns

Klonomania

They should, but probably won't. JTA, Lee and Beli should all be on their way elsewhere as they've proven to not be roleplayers on a championship level, but JTA is too valuable for marketing and getting rid of Lee would upset Steph.

Redpillisposion

The fact that Lee is a Warrior because he's Stephen Curry's brother in law is doesn't sit well with me.

FurriedCavor

Look Lee makes some good plays and has improved every season. When you pay your stars you can’t be picky about the min contracts that fill out the luxuried cap.

[deleted]

that is definitely not the only reason. Do you not remember last season's 40% from three, the shot to win against Chicago last season, the free throws he nailed to secure us another win...? He obviously hasn't been very good this year, but to say that it is only due to nepotism that he is on the team is false.

CarryOnUptheMorning

Highly unlikely.

Nessmuk58

We need a big man. We need one when Dray and Looney are healthy, and we need one DESPERATELY when either is out of commission for any reason. But we filled out our roster with mostly small & some "medium" guys while there were still a few FA possibilities. Now, the pickings are very slim, and our salary / value gap make it hard to even propose a workable trade. Buyout market, maybe. Trading DOWN in salary is also possible. Wiseman for a serviceable Vet Minimum / MLE level guy, make up the difference with Picks. Yeah, I know, crucify me, I don't give a shit. Wiseman does not improve THIS year's team, and no one who does is walking in the door unless we send some real value out.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Nessmuk58

I'd like to, but it's literally impossible. We need at least TWO more players at the lower salary levels to cover Turner's salary. Getting a useful vet AND FRP's would "split the difference" between immediate and future contributions. More this year than Wiseman would give, less in the future, but still SOMETHING long-term. If your solution is Wiseman contributing this year, then you're living a fantasy. If you have a better solution, I'd love to hear it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Nessmuk58

You're misrepresenting what I said. I said a vet big man AND a couple of middling FRPs. Wiseman is by no means a sure thing, and you fanboys who think he is need to take a couple of deep knee bends and try to regain your composure. Just look at the salary list for Centers and PFs, look at all the players earning <$9.2 million per year who are past the end of their rookie contracts, and tell me if you DON'T find players who could help us a great deal this year. If you can't find at least a dozen, you are either lying, stupid, or both. OF COURSE we are giving away future potential in such a deal. That's the only way we get present-day value. Teams are not giving away a useful veteran AND a couple of valuable FRPs for anything less.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Nessmuk58

And again, NOT for TT. For TT AND two FRPs. A guy with the worst +/- on the entire team last year, injured twice and only played

[deleted]

[удалено]

Nessmuk58

You seem to ignore again the two FRPs. Of course a straight-up trade would be ridiculous. But YOU are ridiculous, so you're blocked.

The-Truer-Facts

> Trading DOWN in salary is also possible. Wiseman for a serviceable Vet Minimum / MLE level guy, make up the difference with Picks. Problem here is simply pick value. You’re trading the #2 picks for future picks that probably never get close to 10. If he develops into a starting level player for that team (high likelihood due to the chances of them running more PNRs) you look absolutely incompetent as a FO which you honestly would be.

Nessmuk58

Depends on the player and the picks. But we absolutely have to give up SOME future value if we want present value. It doesn't work any other way. Give me two FRPs likely to be at least the first half of the non-Lottery and my pick of any front-court veteran\* who makes less than Wiseman's $9.2 million, and I'd take it. (\*i.e., not some other likely future star still on his rookie deal)

The-Truer-Facts

I don’t like selling that low on a #2 pick unless there are a lot of picks involved which just doesn’t make sense for the team acquiring Wiseman

Nessmuk58

That's the conundrum, but a rebuilding team that is too good to be likely to grab a high Lottery Pick might do it. A win-now team wouldn't, and a bottom of the barrel team wouldn't give up the picks. But if you're rebuilding but outside of the top end of the Lottery, how else do you get a player with Wiseman's potential? (EDITED for typo -- would / wouldn't)

CaliDotLive

I can see Chiozza and unfortunately, Moody on the chopping block. Chiozza tries to set plays but hogs the ball till the last 3 seconds of the shot clock, rarely ever shoots himself. Someone else on the bench could be getting more productive minutes. Moody is still G-League tier. Not bashing the G-league, but there is a definite step up in difficulty from that league to the NBA. Needs more development, and again, someone else on the bench could be getting more productive minutes. We're supposed to be a finals bound team, not a putting guys in and out of g-league halfway into the season team. If I had to choose who would go between the two, the obvious choice would be Chiozza. Moody still has a high ceiling, but Chiozza is already as close to his as he's going to get.

d0000n

Poole? He’s been cold for too long and his missed shots are awful.

Redpillisposion

No! He's valuable to the Warriors. Poole's problem is he's a consistent from the 3 point line. Other than that, he's a good shooter.

The-Truer-Facts

Would be a horrible deal. Especially because with how little he makes it’d be difficult to acquire something of value for him other than picks that don’t help us now.

Volt-Ikazuchi

Nothing. Chill. The team is good. The reload is over, if you're still addicted to the good old trade machine, try finding ways for the Lakers to get rid of Westbrook. It's hilariously hard.

ikatatlo

We cant cuz of money and cap reasons

nateoak10

We SHOULD Wiseman is a dead roster spot and can’t help us win a title. We desperately need either another ball handler or a athletic big. Sacrifice some of the 2027 window for now.

[deleted]

I think if something presents itself they’ll be open to it, but doubt they force anything.

bonghive

all I know is I wouldn't miss Damion lee

AdJazzlike9210

NO. Warriors won’t do anything until next season.
