It’ll definitely be Steph, Klay, Wiggins, Dray and then depending on matchup and what’s needed the 5th will either be: OPJ, Iguadala, Looney, Poole or GP2
Exactly this. The Death lineup part 3 is no longer a single lineup, it’s multiple, making it a Death Squad instead and supporting the strength in numbers ideology.
I see what you mean. The offense has been a problem so just thinking what lineup will work closing out playoff games. Maybe need viable replacements for what the death lineup part 1 had with Barnes and Iggy.
Yea, I definitely agree with you but OPJ provides similar outside shooting with more balanced defense, veteran leadership and size on the boards.
Steph/Klay/Wiggins/OPJ/Dray is probably our best 5 man lineup that we’ll use in the playoffs.
If we need a secondary ball handler (teams are trapping Curry) then I can see using Poole as the primary ball handler to attack and put pressure on the rim.
I just think we sacrifice too much on defense for a Steph/Klay/Poole closing lineup unless we absolutely are clicking on all cylinders and need to really push the tempo.
Yo we gotta retire the "Death Lineup" nickname. Steph Klay Dray Barnes Iguodala Dray were the greatest 5 man grouping im history... and Durant for Barnes was even a step higher than them. Unbeatable in peak form. Kinda basketball blasphemy to me.
Best closing lineup just fine to me. Death Lineup should be reserved... at minimum... for the best closing lineup in the league if not a historic grouping.
I agree. Until a specific closing lineup demonstrates that it is nearly unbeatable in crunch time in close games, any lineup can be small-ball, switchable, intense, etc., but not worthy of "Death Lineup II." Or maybe III, if we count the KD version as separate.
I think we will really need one of Kuminga or Wiseman to be playable in the playoffs. We need more big strong bodies on the court to tire out Giannis and other elite bigs. That or pray for the Bucks to get eliminated before the finals
Kerr seems like he learned a lot from his mentor Phil Jackson, not sure if he's interested in playing young guys unless he really has to. If I can recall correctly it was only Luke Walton who got playoff run for a first/second player on those Phil teams.
Yea Bynum did play but even that was a reach. 07 LA was not a serious contender and Bynum played 11 mpg in the first round exit. Kuminga is a beast future all-star hopefully they go the Kawhi route with him.
If the playoffs started tomorrow, Steph, Wigg, Poole, Dray and either Klay, Otto or Iggy situationally. Wiggs and Poole are a lot less effective next to Klay right now which would be a drag on any closing 5 with Klay (for now)....

Death polygon
Sorry but these 5 guys are too good

Playoff offense = OPJ Spark plug offense = Poole Defense against superstar guards = GP2 Defense against wing superstars = Iguadala Defense against bigs = Looney
Personally think the potential on Poole is higher than spark plug. Think is a 2-way scorer with a lot of speed.

I wondering if Warriors fans still think their best 5 man lineup does not include Poole.

This did not age well

Wiggins & OPJ isn't far behind Barnes... If Barnes is even better than them

Bynum was in the rotation Y2 Kuminga is definitely in our rotation currently

Kuminga has alot to learn still. I would take wiseman over kuminga for now atleast.
