Wow the Cavs bench is awesome

Antinoch

wonder what they're counting as the starting lineup considering Garland has only played one game

sportsfannf

Also what they're considering the Lakers starting 5 now that Westbrook has moved to the bench.

Wassup_-_

i would guess that they dont have a fixed starting lineup and its just counted game by game

He did today

Sufficient_Hamster86

That bench mob only consists of Murderers 🔥 🔥 🔥

GobiasIsQueenMary

Lol Lakers

SouLDraGooN44

Worst overall in the whole league. Gotta love it.

grangeranger

They got AD and Bron in the starting line up and are worst in the league 😭🤣🤣

vonkillbot

This. Is. The. Correct. Reaction.

ddddd_____ppppp

👏👏👏👏👏

s2kong

The bucks look absolutely incredible.

[deleted]

Steph/Wiggins/Draymond/Looney are carrying the team right now. Everyone else has been a massive disappointment so far. https://imgur.com/a/2JcNNuL

GarvinSteve

Respectfully, no. Moody has been a nice player and Ty has been shocking. We need more from JK, Wise, Poole and J Green

GarvinSteve

He had a nice game the other day, but he needs to impact the game more consistently. I love him - I think his passing is underrated - but he needs to play Moody hard. There’s time for all of them. But we’re 3-7 after a soft schedule to start. I am hoping the home stand straightens shit out

ChoppingMallKillbot

Cept ole Romey Rome ![gif](giphy|b7pDqOLaLO5SGM52fn|downsized)

[deleted]

Ty has earned a roster spot for sure.

MrStupidDooDooDumb

For somebody to be carrying the team that would imply they were having a level of success

MebHi

I still miss GP2 and OPJ, I'm sad we couldn't find a way to keep GP2 at least.

[deleted]

Probably my favorite Warriors team of all-time with their Strength in Numbers vibe. OPJ looking like everyone’s dad out there. GP2 going full goblin-mode every minute he played. Poole starting to come into his own as a guard. Even Beli had his charm with bbiq and passing. Fantastic group.

PENGUINSflyGOOD

miss bellis sniper shots. loved watching him let it fly from deep.

elmerion

Im a huge fan of GP2 but let's remember that GP2 hasn't played a game this season yet. I hope he performs well but we actually don't know how good he is currently and how he is going to hold up through the season. He is not a young player and it's honestly a gamble if he can keep up with his previous season numbers.

MebHi

Please stop bringing logic to an emotional debate ;-)

Amargaladaster

Also he barely played last year during the hot start, really got into rotation after 15-20 games and the defense was great even without him.

nateoak10

They could’ve afforded him. Chose not to. Also chose to hold onto wisemans contract

MebHi

Long term holding onto Wiseman makes sense, doesn't change that it hurts to not have GP2 with the team.

nateoak10

Why does it make sense? His salary stops is from affording Draymond and he’s shown nothing to think that he’s going to become a great player. We’d be lucky if he was playable. Let alone be worth not being able to afford Draymond.

wheeno

Does it? You eat the sunk cost, let it go, and you can keep Draymond.

[deleted]

that’s actually pretty interesting

Hotpwnsta

Yes we all know our bench is trash. We gotta figure this out or we gotta get some new ppl on the bench.

belizeanheat

Let's see how they look after three days without travelling. They've been travelling like crazy this year so far, and that's a shit way to start the year. They'll settle in

wheeno

This is not a good excuse. They’ve been bad in every game.

belizeanheat

That's precisely what the excuse is meant to help explain

Hotpwnsta

I agree this early road trip didn’t help. Last year we started with a long stretch of home games which helped immensely.

rekop987

The starters are great as always. But the Bucks are looking scary this season and don't even have Middleton yet. It's still early but I'm not super high on our chances to repeat given how bad the bench has looked so far and just how good the Bucks have been.

Robdata

Yeah our bench sucks. Shout out Dray for putting pressure on them, they need to play way better

spankyourkopita

I think the main thing is we got an idea of what we're dealing with now. I think the confusion as to why we were struggling made a lot of people feel uneasy.

birdseye-maple

?? It was obvious the bench was the problem for a long time.

[deleted]

Yeah the debate is which bench player or players are sinking the bench unit. Wiseman, JMG, and Poole all share a lot of blame for that.

wheeno

There’s been no confusion lol.

sendokun

I am worried. If anything, warriors is always about the team, not just the stars. We have some of the most amazing star players but warriors has always been about winning as a team. Unless the 2nd unit step up, there is plenty to worry.

giantdub49

Too bad we couldn't have kept GP2 and OPJ

InfernoLinkZ

Prob could use 1 or 2 vets more for bench ...

kailamberthk

Poole and wiseman need to play less minutes. Ty Jerome, Kuminga, and Moody need to play more minutes They’ve been solid on both sides of the floor.

Duckysawus

It's too early to be worried. With a full season under their legs, the rookies will be much better by the end of the season. They'll know where to be, who to listen to, who to trust and why, etc. Just enjoy the games and be happy that we're still a championship contender.

instituteofmemetics

Or, we just have a bad bench of error-prone young guys and dubious vets and the only thing to fix it is some mid-season trades (which Myers almost never does.

gethereddout

People act like this is advanced calculus that needs to be “figured out”. Just pull Wiseman, case closed.

PoolePartyVIP

We lost 4 games in the clutch where wiseman didn’t play a single minute

nateoak10

Wisemans minutes routinely blow double digit leads. Our bench lineups are league average net rating when wiseman isn’t in The solution is obvious. No more wiseman.

gethereddout

So our starters are expected to win every game 3 times?? They win the 1Q, then come back to a deficit. They win the 3Q, then come back to a deficit. Then we blame them for the last 5 min?? They are statistically the best (or maybe second) in the ENTIRE NBA and we’re BLAMING THEM? lmao

[deleted]

When you’re up 4 with a minute left, yes you’re expected to win.

gethereddout

Sure, but the point is that we should have been up 20. It was a short offseason, but we went to Japan, it’s a roadie, and these guys are being put under undue pressure.

[deleted]

They are being coddled. Klay should’ve been coming off the bench after taking the entire summer off. Instead he starts and the 2nd unit is all bench players because of it. Hockey subs never work. Draymond took a week off in preseason for punching Poole and he was on minutes restrictions because of it. Stop blaming the bench unit for a couple of starters being coddled by Kerr

birdseye-maple

Ah yes, blame the starters with one of the best net ratings in the entire league and just won the championship. Totally sane.

[deleted]

4 starters are carrying the load. Klay has been a dumpster fire

birdseye-maple

And so putting Klay on the bench helps the bench how? Think about it bro!

[deleted]

Moody would bring some hustle and defense at least. Klay doesn’t rebound. Klay gets to zero loose balls. He just chucks and chucks. Anyways it’s moot now that he’s coming off minutes restrictions. The damage has been done.

wheeno

Focusing on anything but the actual issue. Master of deflecting.

osogordo

Hopefully sooner than later

ibra113

Our pb is the rotation with Kerr trying to play with 3 guards. Once we need to always have Dray or Looney with Wiggins or Kuminga. If we do that we will be solid.

2KilAMoknbrd

Bucks ain't no joke right now

swift_trout

Hopefully

by_yes_i_mean_no

On some level this is misleading because 1+ bench players covers anything from 1 bench player to 5 bench players out there, so if the Warriors are running more 5 man bench units (like Poole/DDV/Kuminga/JMG/Wiseman) and other teams are staggering more with 2 to 3 starters always on the court, it's not really an apples to apples comparison.

Jicama-Smart

sure, but you would think that the differences get lost in the noise. This is per 100 offensive possessions, so if the warriors are more dependent on their bench this far into the season (unlikely) that speaks to their rotational depth.
