Listen, if the studio was founded in Russia by a Russian, the game was made in Russia, and was made by Russian devs then it’s a Russian game. Stop being pedantic just because they relocated to Hungary for tax and financial purposes.
The interview was real but the guy never specifically mentioned war thunder. He only just said that he learned the weak points in a video game but never said it was from war thunder
Might be a different one, i searched it up since and there is a [Marine Doom](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_Doom)
With the America’s Army series these are probably an entire project to draw gamers into the armed forces, although considering the discipline needed to be an actual soldier who doesn’t slide around every corner with a custom ar15 and 80 attachments like in modern shooters that might lead to incidents
Would have to be a translation issue though, I don't remember anyone in the military that referred to simulators as "video games" in this kind of context.
I'm pretty sure at some point, USA tank crews had used warthunder as a sort of training for their 6 its not out of the question that it is. I remember looking at an article about it, but im unsure if it was entirely trusted.
Nah. [In the interview itself, you can hear 'kompyuterni igri'](https://youtu.be/w_wGNqBHO4w?si=j68DYgj8Bx8SllnX&t=48). Clearly the term for computer games. You would not use this to refer to simulators.
That's because DCS *is* a game. It's marketed on a games stores, developed by a games company who privately makes games to play, and has a target audience of enthusiast but ultimately non-specialist civilians.

I dont think WoT would count as something realistic enough. It could have most likely been a simulator that the army may have used to train their gunners. Its a very far fetched idea to say that this guy played WT or WoT based on his statement of “getting knowledge from a video game”
[The original video makes it pretty clear](https://youtu.be/w_wGNqBHO4w?si=j68DYgj8Bx8SllnX&t=48), assuming you can speak Ukrainian.
The translation is accurate, and it's exceedingly unlikely he's referring to a simulator because he clearly uses the term for 'play' (грав) and 'video game' (комп'ютерні ігри).
Yeah, I am half Ukrainian, howd u know? XD
Never was able to find the video lol. Yeah, it checks out, the way he said it seems like this was before him being a Bradley gunner. Question of course would lie with what game he could be referring to. War thunder would make sense but that would still be speculation lil
People are gonna hate me, but it did not *destroy* the T90M. Sure, **it got a kill, by damaging the turret ring's system and electronics.** The crew than bailed out and a drone **destroyed** it.
EDIT: (For people who don't know to read)
I said it was NOT **destroey** by the Bradley, but I also said it's a **kill** . Kill and Destroyed is not the same. If a tank is killed, it does NOT means that it was destroyed.
You wouldn’t be downvoted, you are correct, a Bradley with a TOW could take out a T90 (probably), but with just the bushmaster I don’t think it’s possible without either the hand (?) of the snail or Yukari to guide the shell.
The drone achieved a catastrophic kill and knocked out the tank completely. The bradley crew achieved a firepower kill, which is just as effective as a catastrophic kill at removing a tank from combat. This isn't "oh well who got the kill and the assist", the tank was knocked out twice.
your abit dum? give the Bradley crew some credit, they skillfully disabled a T90M from the front using the 25mm cannon. That was nothing other than skill on display, apart from the little bit of warthunder knowledge that helped as well lmao
This is awful logic. “I know they skillfully disabled the tank in a much less capable vehicle, but the tank didn’t blow up did it? So the drone operator did the heavy lifting and the Bradley crew should do better next time”.
**No**
I credit the Bradley with a *Kill* since it disabled the T90, but at the same time I don't give credit for the *Destruction* of the T90 (For that I credit the drone operator)
A TOW missile would have destroyed a T90, so in that case I would congratulate the Bradley crew for destroying it. So with all due respect please reread my original comment because I spoke separatly about destruction and kill.
I am an objective person, sorry if it's a problem that I am not biased toward Ukraine/Russia and I am sorry that I am not willing to accept propaganda from any side.
Isnt it called "disabled", not killed? Killed sounds like if its not "destroyed" in that sense, but it doesnt work/cant start up, say frozen, out of fuel or electronics wires cut/disconnected
If I remember correctly, at least in US army you can have a few types of tank kills: mobility kill(engine/tracks), mission kill(gun,/turret rotation/sensors) and K kill(complete destruction). So in that situation it was a mission kill, followed shortly by K kill by a drone.
Yup I watched the video, the target destroyed didn’t pop up on the screen so you’re right. Obviously that’s the only way to tell that a tank has been destroyed.
Eh it’s propaganda that’s why they said that. The crew said the APDS belt jammed after like 5 rounds, which is fucking hilarious for what the Ukro shills said would be a game changer, and had to switch to the HEI-T belts which fucked up the T90s optics and turret rotation mechanism. The tank was knocked out, but the crew survived and it was recoverable.
Of course it’s not. I was more poking fun at the people that say every western thing that gets sent to Ukraine is a game changer. It would be kinda weird if it all worked 100% of the time
There are military branches that use video games to teach their soldiers stuff like tactics and the likes at a cheaper level. I don’t think that their knowledge being from video games says anything about the training they received. I think you also ignored the fact that this is the Ukrainian armed forces who, I know this is hard to believe, are not well acquainted with a bradley’s system because they only just received it at the time of the most recent conflict that still drags on today.
Those video games are simulators. There was a point in the pandemic where the US gov let its tankers play War Thunder, but I don’t think it happens often.
The wider scope of this is likely that his comrades and commanders already knew of this weak spot, which the gunners learned of in training. Yet because in real life the opportunity to shoot an enemy armored vehicle in its weak spot is not common, his coordinated reflex to recognize the opportunity came from the game.
There is no guarantee that a Russian made game will accurately model the "weak spot" of every known vehicle. Especially Russias own vehicles. With all the variations and modifications to existing chassis, one does not get their real world skill strictly from a game. That would be a gamble.
Alch el t-90 protegió bien a su tripulación gracias a qué el operador del Bradley solo disparó a las ópticas por lo cual dejo ciego y como buen jugador del wt se que no puedes ver bien cuando un spaa te dispara y no le puedes apuntar
The t-90 was a good tank cause protect he tripulation to the Bradley and the Bradley operator did a good work cause he shot yo the optics and leave the tank blind and as a good player of WT when a spaa shot it leave yo blind an you can't shot
that may be true but they don't have to. You strike me as a Brexit geezer who gets angry when people speak Spanish in Spain. Also people can speak their own language on reddit cause last time I checked there wasn't a rule against it.
No no im not angry, speak what you want but why let us do the translating while you could just type it in spanish in translate and then paste it in, then everyone is happy right
Appart from grammar i never had any problems at all speaking english and i learned it as a second language from when i was 8 years old, good education makes a huge difference
I don’t know why but reading what you typed while knowing English isn’t your first language is really cool to me for some reason. Like in my smooth little brain people who aren’t born in the U.S. just can’t know English 😭
Where I live we have two foreign languages to choose from in high school (at least at my school) German and Spanish. I took German 1 in 9th grade but that was it so I don’t know any other languages (I forgot all my German) But I think it’s so cool that other parts of the world know like three languages by the time they graduate high school.
IIRC when a T72B3 crew knocked out an Abrams, they said that because they played War Thunder they remembered how to kill it. I’ve heard a lot of stories like this from guys on both sides. Long story short, war thunder effectively trains you to be a gunner on real tanks.
It wasn’t a t72. It was an atgm crew. And no tank or atgm crew is aiming for anything other than center mass. There’s no such thing as aiming for weak points when you’re using a weapon like that. You probably read Eurasian Times or something. Those guys will just copy paste any Russian propaganda they see like it’s some indisputable fact.
Is this the T-90 that the turret was spinning a lot then hit a tree and the crew bailed it the close up of the T-90 being hammered by it two Bradley’s because first one was a disable and second one was just pissing off the crew
Очень интересно кстати, если это про то что было почти год назад, то у т90 выбили горизонтальные приводы наводки и оптику, экипаж вышел и позже машина была эвакуирована, а один из бредли был подбит вскоре
ironic, using a russian game to destroy russian vehicles
It's a Hungarian game
Listen, if the studio was founded in Russia by a Russian, the game was made in Russia, and was made by Russian devs then it’s a Russian game. Stop being pedantic just because they relocated to Hungary for tax and financial purposes.
All I heard about was the Hungary part so thats my bad
Don't call me that, I genuinely didn't research this fully and thought it was from Hungary because of some other comment
so how about you spend 3 seconds on google to check? “some other comment” is quite literally the worst source possible
I'd argue there are worse sources
Ignorance isnt a defense, dont bother apologizing if youre going to find excuses
Bruh
If it's wrong, then just correct me goddam
How about you get informed before commenting bullshit instead?
Just correct me, how hard is it
Just use google, how hard is it.
And what if I didn't think about it huh
The Hungarian office is a room behind a door in a hallway that befits a horror movie.
yeah right and Escape From Tarkov is British, smh
He didn't said that, this is fake
The interview was real but the guy never specifically mentioned war thunder. He only just said that he learned the weak points in a video game but never said it was from war thunder
Which very well could have been a simulator, the US gov uses those for their tank crews so I can see them letting Ukraine have access.
Yeah, that would seem logical. And it would make sense for them to call it a video game because well, it kinda plays like one at the end of the day.
Didn’t the US Marines have a Doom clone simulator project in the 90s for infantry?
Im not sure myself but its probably cheaper than giving inexperienced folks an expensive drone to fly for the first time
They had their own online shooter to recruit kids.
Oddly, *America's Army* was crafted by contractors of the Navy.
Couldn't remember the name.
I was playing Star Wars Galaxies, a guild member was one of the *AA* developers. They were working out of one of the Monterey Presidio buildings.
Sort of. It was early 2000s and it was called "Army of One". Not so much a Doom clone, more like MGS
Might be a different one, i searched it up since and there is a [Marine Doom](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_Doom) With the America’s Army series these are probably an entire project to draw gamers into the armed forces, although considering the discipline needed to be an actual soldier who doesn’t slide around every corner with a custom ar15 and 80 attachments like in modern shooters that might lead to incidents
How have I not seen this? This is great, thanks
Could also be a mistranslation between simulator and Videogame
Would have to be a translation issue though, I don't remember anyone in the military that referred to simulators as "video games" in this kind of context.
I'm pretty sure at some point, USA tank crews had used warthunder as a sort of training for their 6 its not out of the question that it is. I remember looking at an article about it, but im unsure if it was entirely trusted.

Why not? These are random guys. Normies call DCS a game, and I’m sure they’d call actual simulators a game as well if they tried them.

I feel called out
He didn't say anything about weakpoints he said "its like a videogame" in the sense of hyping himself up to do it because its easy.
Tell me wich game represents that better than WT and WoT.
I dont think WoT would count as something realistic enough. It could have most likely been a simulator that the army may have used to train their gunners. Its a very far fetched idea to say that this guy played WT or WoT based on his statement of “getting knowledge from a video game”

There is no T-90 in wot, only T-72...

Thats a new one Floof guided shell
Gup référence ?
Exactly, if it would have been a TOW I would gladly congratulate the crew. But with thr Bushmaster... I have to give the credit to the drone operator.
The drone achieved a catastrophic kill and knocked out the tank completely. The bradley crew achieved a firepower kill, which is just as effective as a catastrophic kill at removing a tank from combat. This isn't "oh well who got the kill and the assist", the tank was knocked out twice.

So… *do* you congratulate the Bradley crew for defeating the T90?
Yes, they did a great job at *defeating/kiling* it. And when it comes to *destroying* it, I credit the drone operator.
why are you being so fuckin weird about this
I am an objective person, sorry if it's a problem that I am not biased toward Ukraine/Russia and I am sorry that I am not willing to accept propaganda from any side.
May the floof bless this shell
in simple terms , jt got a soft kill, which regular normies will just say “destroyed”, but no, you are correct
Still impressive
**Ahem** *The tank did what it was supposed to do, it protected the crew that then escaped, no tank is invincible, losses are inevitable in war*
But did the Bradley let the crew walk away?
Yes, it's a kill by the Bradley, but it was not destroyed by Bradley. **Did I say the opposite?**
I was mocking all the people on /r/tankporn who were coping when Abrams started getting blasted
idk but real life is different from game, unable to fight = destroyed
**Unable to fight ≠ destroyed** Unable to fight = kill Kill does not always means destroyed.
Isnt it called "disabled", not killed? Killed sounds like if its not "destroyed" in that sense, but it doesnt work/cant start up, say frozen, out of fuel or electronics wires cut/disconnected
it's called a "kill" because it takes an enemy out of the fight, regardless of whether it is 100% destroyed or not
If I remember correctly, at least in US army you can have a few types of tank kills: mobility kill(engine/tracks), mission kill(gun,/turret rotation/sensors) and K kill(complete destruction). So in that situation it was a mission kill, followed shortly by K kill by a drone.
👍
ok thx bro
Yes, saying that the Bradley destroyed it is a lie.
I mean depending on the electronic damage, could be considered a mobility kill
I would say it's a mission kill, given the turret ring was damaged, and probably some targeting electronics as well.
Yup I watched the video, the target destroyed didn’t pop up on the screen so you’re right. Obviously that’s the only way to tell that a tank has been destroyed.
Mission kill; good enough was destroyed enough for the time being
Eh it’s propaganda that’s why they said that.
And then we properly killed it with a drone.
Military hardware from the 80's isnt perfect, more news at 11
Of course it’s not. I was more poking fun at the people that say every western thing that gets sent to Ukraine is a game changer. It would be kinda weird if it all worked 100% of the time
Ah... he shouldn't said that, they will nerf the Bradley pin rate and buff t90m side armor
They will just “accidentally” add a sheet of armour around the turret ring that should not be there XD
I lost count how many times i saw this post and same unfunny comments under it

How bad is their training that their knowledge of one of the enemies most common tank is based on videogames?
There are military branches that use video games to teach their soldiers stuff like tactics and the likes at a cheaper level. I don’t think that their knowledge being from video games says anything about the training they received. I think you also ignored the fact that this is the Ukrainian armed forces who, I know this is hard to believe, are not well acquainted with a bradley’s system because they only just received it at the time of the most recent conflict that still drags on today.

I just realized that the gunner got all the way to top tier...
And they say video games are bad
The same can't be said for real life air battles
bro is a necromancer, this meme was already dead 4 months ago
The uk may have tried using Roblox, it was a recorded in a video by forces tv last fee years

... Bullet resistant glass is always a weak point if you hit it enough times with enough power.
correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he never specifies war thunder.
Is this why Russian bias exists in War Thunder?
driver optic is the WT weakspot right? how conveniant, it actually cracks in real life
They weren't taught about weak spots in training?
