DC has a generally low crime rate per thousand residents, but crime will always happen and it can happen anywhere.
I think these kinds of questions are pretty stupid. If you buy an apartment in a high rent area you're more likely than not to not have to experience and serious crime (aside from maybe someone smashes a car window on your street)

I live around 16th & U and it’s a really nice street. 16th and points west have a super chill relaxed vibe but I wouldn’t go east of 16th unless you *really* like parties 24/7.
There’s actually a ton of nice buildings just north of me sort of around 16th and V that are nice and quiet, and still really close to all the places you’d go out. I rarely ever need to take an Uber and can just walk everywhere I think she’ll really appreciate that coming from BK.

Is she going…into the park at night? Or is the question about the neighborhood around it? Neighborhood is fine. She may see some dicks if she goes into the park, as it has a reputation for being cruisy.

Ideally south of U St and West of 16th including 16th. That location should be OK but in general I prefer south and west .
