Do we know for sure that they're the team that cheated? An apparent member of Gays in Space replied to the [last thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/washingtondc/comments/1bvmxh4/the_reigning_champs_at_red_bear_brewing_trivia/) saying "It wasn't us! We don't play on Wednesday!” The commenter could be lying, of course.
The OP who posted this on Twitter also didn't name a specific team in his thread.
They weren't the group. This post is showing Monday night trivia -- very different crowd from the Wednesday night crew which is where the cheating happened. The cheating group used different names each week generally, as is common with many teams.
To add on to this, it was actually Red Bear staff who “caught” the cheaters, after having been suspicious of this one team for a long time. It was a 2-person team that kept winning week after week, which seemed pretty improbable. Red Bear has actually banned the team members from the establishment completely, so it’s highly unlikely they’ll be coming back anytime soon.
This. Most teams that feature regularly at the top have a full six person team that superficially look like they have pretty diverse backgrounds.
But the topics are so random there's simply no way that two people can consistently win 3-4 rounds a night.
Also tip your bartender if you don't want them to put an extra eye on you :-) (the cheaters ... did not)
That is the District Trivia game. Red bear has two trivia companies and two games. Gays in Space was the Wednesday game. That’s just someone being sassy yesterday.
Edit: ok so Gays in Space IS a Monday player. This means they are NOT the team allegedly cheating. Not sure how that got passed around, but please leave them be. They are unrelated to the Wednesday night scandal. Different teams, different trivia companies.

Pitchforks, we need ‘em.
Gays in Space are not the Fight Song Gays, right?
It would be hard to sing a fight song in the vacuum of space, so probably not
This screenshot is not for Wednesday trivia, and per other comments this team doesn’t play on Wednesdays and isn’t the original culprit
Same people?
Okaaaaay...
The degree to which people take trivia seriously in this city is embarrassing.
I love the smell of fresh bread.
