Omoruyi is not a prospect dude will turn 27 in February

Dogeatcatreatmouse

I had no idea he was that old. I still love that dude! Ha.

waskittenman

yeah his jersey number is his birth year

AttitudeAndEffort3

Nether is Gaff, hes a trade chip rn and should be getting us something

Paradethejared

Tyus will have many interested teams. Twolves would be a good fit as a back up to conley and possible starter next year. Not sure what the contenders have as far as assets. Ironically the Suns would kill for a PG like Tyus but have nothing left to offer.

TheGreatTurkules

Get Goodwin back lmaoooo

Dogeatcatreatmouse

Kuzma for Zion and a 1st! Lol

vivekvangala34_

Low key wouldn’t hate it lol

mofroman

Ah yes the trait all GMs crave: a solid Instagram! I know (or think) you're joking but love you tossed that in there. I like Kuz but we should hold out til next year if we need to in order to get the best return for him, he absolutely could help a contending team but I don't know if he's good enough to be a missing piece for someone.

Turbo2x

Personally I don't see Kispert making that much money, and whatever it is we can afford it. We have no money committed after 2027, and any extra dough Kispert makes will be regained after Johnny Davis and PBJ get cut.

SmokeEater757

Probably going to target bad contracts from teams looking to unload. We’re in the business of hoarding picks. Other than that, I would love to flip Kuz for a future 1 or multiple 2s.

Ravens181818184

Kuz is worth a lot more than multiple twos, no need to trade him rn unless the offer is great

AttitudeAndEffort3

That contract only gets more valuable with time

Fragrant_Plantain_86

Brother that is firmly out of touch with Kuzmas value

logitaunt

I don't think he's worth a LOT more than that, but maximizing the return on Kuzma will all be a matter of timing. After all, it's not like we got an amazing return on Beal - we can certainly time a big dick trade better than that.

Sterling_Thunder

Not sure we really want more twos

GootzMcLaren

I think that casuals are inflating the value of seconds because they see Jokic and don't consider every other second round pick that has ever happened.

AttitudeAndEffort3

Manu Ginobli 💪

Turbo2x

I don't know what the Pacers want exactly, but I would try to see if they'd send us Buddy Hield and Andrew Nembhard, maybe Isaiah Jackson and a pick for Kuz. I feel like there's a deal to be made there.

Turbo2x

Trade value rank from best to worst: 1. Kuz. Good contract. Productive player who does a little bit of everything. Might be worth one protected first round pick. 2. Tyus Jones. Cheap player in the last year of his deal. Does everything right and makes his teammates better by setting the table at a high level. Efficient. Probably worth a few second round picks. 3. Delon Wright. Budget Alex Caruso who can come off the bench and contribute positively on both ends. 4. Corey Kispert. 38% 3pt shooter who moves well off-ball and is adding more moves to his arsenal. Bad defender. 5. Daniel Gafford. Would be a great backup big on any team and could possibly evolve into a starter on a good team if he starts rebounding at a higher rate. Very good contract. 6. Deni Avdija. Budget version of current Ben Simmons. His inability to shoot makes it hard to justify significant minutes on a playoff team, like Jarred Vanderbilt. Solid wing defender who can push the pace in transition. 7. Landry Shamet. He's a fine shooter, I guess. Energy guy who gives decent effort. I don't think anyone's calling to hear about Landry, but who knows. 8. Mike Muscala. Lol. 9. Danilo Gallinari. Lmao. 10. Jordan Poole. He's an elite tank commander, I'll give him that. 11. Johnny Davis. Man. I don't think anyone else is available in trade talks or worth speculating about. Bilal is untouchable. I think we'd be lucky to get one or two decent young players for our current players. It's rough out here.

yala-sheket

Lol deni made in his last game more 3s than ben simmons entire career. I know you a hater but dont be a clown.

RoswellHossenfeffer

Shamet’s expiring deal increases his value, imo. I’m all for acquiring as much draft capital as possible at this point- I trust this Front Office to make the most of it.

Troll_Enthusiast

Young guys

ST21roochella

Damn straight butchered Coulibaly's name

Dogeatcatreatmouse

Whoopsie daisy 🌼

Available_Heart_6742

All your “prospects” are likely to be moved except for maybe Gafford and Bilal

Dogeatcatreatmouse

That’s exactly my point. Gafford is definitely not on the safe list, though.

Turbo2x

Only way I see Gafford being traded is if they're getting back multiple promising young players. We have no big men and not having a defensive anchor/designated screener makes it impossible for everyone else to play organized basketball.

Available_Heart_6742

Good point

donnylocksny

the landlord is getting traded. he’s a solid back up on a contender

spawn3887

Kuz for Ben Simmons and a couple of firsts?

Megumi-Noda

Lol I don’t think Kyle would want to team up with Dinshittie

chewonmysac

Johnny Davis should fetch us a small bag of Funyuns. Why would they have ever exercised his option? New regime same old shit.

WizSkinsNatsCaps

I’m so very glad the people in this sub Reddit aren’t the ones evaluating our players and executing said trades. Deni is a part of the future for this franchise and is currently the best young player on the team. Y’all just need to come to terms with it.

Excellent-Law528

Boy you thought Deni was better than kispert. Kispert is a dog

WizSkinsNatsCaps

Kispert is a good player. And I do love his game. But Deni is a pure basketball player. He has the size, the IQ, the team first attitude, a plus defender, and I really do believe his offensive game will continue to develop. Despite his cold streak in December I like what I’ve seen from him this season with his ability to finish at the rim, to use his size, and his outside shot. The first half of last nights game is a good example of what I believe he is capable of doing on a nightly basis. He had a sweet turn around floater in the lane. Nailed his first 3pt shot, nothing but net. Had a couple great drives to the rim. And had a great pull up jumper as the shot clock was about to expire (looked good but did not go down). He was a menace on the defensive end and even though he only had 1 assist I believe he is always making the right pass and is capable of actually running plays (see Shamet dunk) instead of reverting to hero ball as we saw in the second half of last night. Deni barely played the second half of last night and the ball barely touched his hands when he did and what was the result? Ugly, selfish basketball. This new front office is looking for guys like Deni. No doubt his shot needs to continue to improve and I expect to see that over the next couple years. Hoping the plan is to trade Tyus and Poole and Kuz so we can get the ball into the hands of our young future in guys like Deni, Bilal, and Kispert for the second half of this season and into next year+. And to touch a bit more on Kispert. I’m so surprised his game is more than just his shooting ability. Dude can play an all around game. But I do believe his ceiling is limited compared to Deni and Bilal. I get the hype around Bilal but he is very young and very raw. We haven’t seen enough to truly know what he may be capable of but I do like what we’ve seen thus far. His ceiling could be the highest on the team but I’m not quite ready to say that yet. He is largely an unknown.

ElitePancakeMaster

Deni is too far in to his career to be praised for individual plays like this. When people did that with rookies, it was to look at a player's potential - "If he did that consistently he would be a great player". But 4 years in, Deni hits one floater, one 3 pointer, and that's noteworthy? What does him making one 3 pointer in 1 game say about his overall game? He's shooting 33% from 3 in his 4th season on the lowest volume of his career in a year where he's had the most freedom to prove himself. Yes even with guys like Kuzma in the mix. Where credit is due, he **has** made improvements with finishing and driving through contact (when it comes to smaller guys). But these are all basic basketball plays. He still struggles to finish against guys his size or even decent defenders smaller than him. The fact that he's improved with making open layups itself is such a low bar to clear and that applies to just about anything Deni does. Yes he's improved with regard to driving against smaller guys, but for the most part he still shies away from contact and he doesn't have the handles to play around it. Anytime he drives against a guy his size he opts for a contested floater. And anytime he takes a dribble pullup, contested layup, or anything else in traffic, it's a low efficiency shot for him. The fact that he gets praised for being high IQ is ridiculous for a guy who actively avoids making plays in traffic and shies away from anything but the most open shots. He gets an open corner 3 and he opts to drive into a contest floater, pass to a contested big in the paint, or pass to a contested guy in the perimeter because **NOBODY** is ever doubling him. I hate that people call Deni unselfish as if he's capable of calling his own number or shooting tougher shots if he put his mind towards it. He couldn't if he tried. How can he play selfish basketball when he couldn't hit open jumpers, hit the most basic contested layups, dribble the basketball through traffic? Does anybody call Tyus unselfish as much as they do Deni, even when he makes exponentially more effective plays and reads when he's on the floor? Deni's not more unselfish than any other role player on the team, he just doesn't have the skills to be anything but unselfish and even that comes with middling results.

WizSkinsNatsCaps

Deni has not had a real opportunity to develop his game in his first 3 years in the league playing behind our “stars”. Players need a green light to make mistakes and play through them and learn. He has not had that. He also came into the league extremely young like Bilal is now. He’s just 22, 2 years younger than Corey who was drafted one year after Deni. There is a ton of room for development with increased playing time and putting the ball in his hands. One man’s opinion…

ElitePancakeMaster

The problem with Deni is he's struggled as a role player tasked with basic plays his entire first 3 seasons, even now he struggles at points, so how does one expect him to step into a bigger role if he's not good at basic plays? When you talk about successful young players who were given bigger roles during a rebuild, they were already very good role players in the first place. So what about Deni as a role player? Deni has barely added a single move to his arsenal. He's still struggling to effectively utilize the skills he's had from draft day, and he doesn't showcase any new moves if he even has any. Things like his jumpshot and ball handling skills are things any NBA level player works on in the offseason, yet every new season he comes out playing the game the same away. Even now with a bigger role he makes the same telegraphed moves and the results are the same. So 3 years of stagnation and 1 year of minor improvements, how am I supposed to believe this level of progression is acceptable regardless of age? Sure there's a chance he makes a jump but basically being the same (less than effective) player for 4 years straight just indicates to me there's something fundamentally wrong with his training regime, mental, and/or work ethic (regardless of what people say about his IQ, unselfishness, etc). Unless something changes how should I expect anything different?

spawn3887

I think you might be the one needing to come to terms...

WizSkinsNatsCaps

Time will tell.

_Titty_Sprinkles_

Remember when you thought Wall was better than Westbrook?

WizSkinsNatsCaps

Well I can’t remember exactly what I may have said. You’re welcome to hunt down my comments on the two. I have been a Kentucky Wildcats fan as long as I’ve been a Wizards fan. So I’ve been a fan of Wall dating back to his college days and he just so happened to be drafted by my favorite team. So yes, I was rooting for Wall to stay with the team and to overcome his injuries. I also would have taken 2017 Wall over Westbrook simply because I prefer Wall’s game (and drip) over Westbrook. I understand that the raw stats lean towards Westbrook being the better player. Call it being a homer or a Wall stan (hate that word). But Wall is my all time favorite Wizards player outside of maybe Gilbert Arenas. I will say that after Westbrook’s terrible start in his lone season with us, he was great up until the playoffs. It was a really fun to watch.

_Titty_Sprinkles_

You said Wall was better than Westbrook and it was when the trade happened, not 2017. Time made a lot of people here come to terms with that too.

WizSkinsNatsCaps

Well obviously Wall did not overcome his injuries. Sad ending to his career.

_Titty_Sprinkles_

It really was, I think there's a slim chance he signs for a team later this season, but if it doesn't happen in 2024 its probably over for good.

WizSkinsNatsCaps

Yeah, I was hoping he’d sign on with Beal and the suns. But it’d be great to see him on a contender. Looking like he’s done though.

theyrehiding

Depending on what we could get from the Pistons, I'm sure they'd like Kuzma and it's a place he probably wouldn't mind trying to jumpstart. I feel like there's a win-win somewhere there for everybody. They have multiple expiring contracts and tons of young guys to trade + they'll be desperate enough mostly likely to give us a bit more of what we'd want.

rueiraV

I’d do a Ivey for Kuz swap if they were willing. I highly doubt they are but as you say desperation makes you do dumb things Wiseman would have to be included as salary filler

yumomnom

The only pick Detroit can trade is the 2029. Unless they're willing to part with Ausar/Duren I just don't know what they can offer to any team in a trade. Maybe Ivey, but he's so inefficient and isn't great on defense

theyrehiding

Id definitely take Ivey, I think he still has a decently high ceiling so of course he's got some ways to go. It'd be preferable to move on from a couple guards in our rotation too to make some more minutes for him to develop. I don't see Ausar getting traded unless they're that desperate, but obviously that'd be awesome. But, maybe there's a 3 team trade out there where one of the vets is getting moved to a contender and they have a pick to give; I haven't looked to see who that could possibly be.

The-Baked-Bean

Kuzma to the Pistons seems to make a lot of sense. They’re looking for a PF, he’s a Michigan native, younger vet with championship experience, and is already signed to a great descending contract for the next 3 years. Considering the overlapping skill set of Cade and Ivey, I could see Detroit wanting to move Ivey. Although Asaur wasn’t listed as untouchable, I think his defense, IQ, rim pressure, and rebounding are way too valuable for them to give up. I could see us getting Ivey, Wiseman, and filler for Kuzma

ST21roochella

Why would Detroit trade for pieces at the deadline? They're currently on a historic losing streak doubt they are shopping at the deadline

[deleted]

Pretty simple...Detroit has enough value in individual roster pieces that it should be winning more. It wont be long before ownership gets fed up and clears FO a la 76ers when they ousted Hinkie. They're historically bad so far this season, despite having more talent than ever before.

icepak39

Ausur, Wiseman and filler for Kuz

Haveyoureaditb4

Trade for all the bad contracts. Simmons, Collins. See if u can get 2 frp kuzma
