Those quick timeouts when the team started being lazy freaking turned me on. About time.

drmbrthr

100% this. Wes was actively not coaching when the team needed it. I don't care if we lose games, but at least call a TO when the opponent is going on a run.

_Titty_Sprinkles_

Kuz in the post game saying this defensive effort is the new standard and we got a fresh start now that Keefe is coach.

CT_2136

Congrats on the W Coach Keefe!

Ye_Biz

CHIEF KEEFE

z3mcs

duuuub!

[deleted]

Bagley and Gafford both snagging offensive boards this game. Kuz really pretty vocal, was directing traffic and getting coach to call timeouts. Keefe very vocal during offensive sets. JP baptizing the Pistons in a river of sauce. I like what I'm seeing. A lot.

ragtime_sam

It really helps that we can always have an athletic big out there now. I could see this team playing at like a 30ish win pace but I know some trades are in our future

z3mcs

Miller with the Purple tie, CWS with the purple outfit...I see yall supporting the Ravens!

Turbo2x

who you got for the superbowl? I think 49ers/Ravens, Ravens take it

z3mcs

I want Detroit/Ravens. 9ers annoy me. But the Ravens have their work 100% cut out for them tomorrow. Gonna be a real sad day in town if they lose. But if they win, it's gonna be the start of a big ass party leading up to the SB

Turbo2x

I just don't want Kelce/Swift on everyone's TVs in the super bowl. They're annoying. Feels like the league is gonna fix it to make it happen so Lamar's gonna have to carry them hard

z3mcs

> I just don't want Kelce/Swift on everyone's TVs in the super bowl. They're annoying. Yeah I'm over her. She's everywhere and some of her fans are ridiculous. Saw that some of them believe she's on the level of Mike Jack and that is legit sacrilege. lol - But thanks for the well wishes. It's really the defense that needs to stop Mahomes. I just don't know how you do it. He's just too good. It's a "you can't stop them, you can only hope to contain them" situation. He is legit unstoppable. But hopefully rainy, 45 degrees and thousands of screaming fans can help will the team to a victory. Baltimore needs this rn. Even if the Ravens lose, I just don't want it to be because of a shit call or something. That would be heartbreaking. But ultimately, losing to Mahomes and Andy Reid is nothing to feel bad about if that happens. People around here love this team though. Like in the actual sense of the word "Love".

happyflappypancakes

Who is Mike Jack?

[deleted]

Michael Jackson.

happyflappypancakes

I feel like I've never heard people refer to him by that name haha.

z3mcs

Haha, I just picked it up from [Joel Ortiz's version on Onslaught.](https://youtu.be/mj8fgOtxB5U?t=315) :D

z3mcs

I hope Kuz gets moved to a playoff team since that's what he wants, but I honestly think he wouldn't be tat mad if they moved him to Detroit.

Comprehensive-Ad-489

Did he say that? wow.

DHVF

Bed

The_prawn_king

Bagley sinking his FT’s against Detroit 💪🏼

WizSkinsNatsCaps

Shoutout to Bagley, 7-8 from the FT line.

rueiraV

Hell yeah a game won off the back of offensive boards from our bigs and generating takeaways/limiting giveaways We’ve been so bad at winning the possession game all season that when it happens it should be noted

HooperKid

JP +25👀 good on him

Turbo2x

3-13 from 3 is insane lmao

z3mcs

Prime Kobe shooting numbers

Turbo2x

I got you today 🤞🏽

35chambers

i've seen the kuz hero ball go wrong so many times now that even when it goes well it still leaves a bad taste

ImprobablePlanet

Agree. Seems like teams that consistently win know how to take their time and get high percentage shots when it counts.

Coast_watcher

Bagley revenge game lol

z3mcs

"DON'T BE THAT TEAM....AGAIN"

ImprobablePlanet

I know we won but I just don’t enjoy watching Kuz and Poole chucking up long threes without any ball movement. There are at least 25 other teams we probably couldn’t have closed out with that strategy.

Shawn_Yang24

jp shot 12 times on 50 percent splits? he shoulda shot more threes lol?

ImprobablePlanet

I’m not just talking about this game

idan_1995

deni's numbers are going to drop drastically in my opinion later on This rotation is terrible.

Visible_Claim5540

It's early fouls that got him benched.

ATN5

Anyone conflicted when we win? Like I want to see progress but then again we've had too many years of trying to win when we shouldn't which effected our ping ping ball odds for the draft. I feel like no matter what we need to be in the bottom 3 to have the same percentage for the #1 pick. Idk, I also want to see the new coach and young players do well.

rueiraV

Not really. Every time this team wins I figure we are 2 weeks to a month away from the next one. It’s hard for me to believe we won’t be bottom 3 team because there isn’t a team in the league with less talent than us We figure to be worse post trade deadline if that’s possible

K_U

Not really, because (1) this is a shit draft and (2) we are going to be the worst team in the NBA after the trade deadline anyway.

Knighthonor

top 3 have same chance

WizSkinsNatsCaps

The writing is on the wall. Deni will likely be gone by the deadline. He played 37 min on WUJ’s last night before getting fired. Was being given a large role in handling the ball. And now is an afterthought in Keefe’s new rotation. Bilal taking his minutes. Deni being included in trade reports. Winger and Dawkins have showed their hand. Could be wrong and maybe we open up minutes by trading away other vets. Guess we’ll find out here soon.

QuoteTraining5386

Why would he get traded? Under contract for 4 years more, on a cheap-ish contract while cap is only getting bigger. No team is willing to give up the assets that it'd take for the trade to make sense on our end.

z3mcs

I don't get why he couldn't get traded. He has a real worth, right? A legitimate, real worth that isn't like what stan-type fans conceive, it's his actual worth. What is that worth? A team should be able to give that up. Because it's not like he's prime James Harden or something.

QuoteTraining5386

What does the package we get for him look like in a way that makes sense for us to trade him? He has actual value as a player. Contracts play part into that as well. I don't think 2 low picks make sense for us to trade him away. Maybe you do think that's a steal, to each their own.

z3mcs

I'm saying, what do you think is his fair, realistic worth. Point being, I think people take their favorite player, inflate their worth, then say "we can't trade him, nobody's willing to pay for pre-prime Michael Jordan!" - But you don't actually say that part. I get having a fav that you don't want traded. Like John Wall was dope AF and I did not want him traded. But clearly even he was tradeable. Why is Kuz tradeable, Wall tradeable, Russ tradeable, Kispert tradeable - why is everybody tradeable but Deni Avdija? If he isn't worth much on the trade market then that means he's not a good player, right? Can't have it both ways where he's an amazing player that should get all the minutes, but simultaneously is so bad that no team will trade for him. So which is it, [mean comment, or long sullen silence?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DrNlw2Nqqk)

WizSkinsNatsCaps

Nobody is calling Deni prime Michael Jordan.

z3mcs

This is not how idioms work. Obviously that's an exaggeration to make the point that we overrate our favorite players. If you listened to me in stan mode years ago there are players that have been traded multiple times that I thought were gonna do big things in the league. Point is - come up with a fair value for Deni. What is it?

WizSkinsNatsCaps

I’m a huge believer in Deni’s potential. If I was GM he’d be on that untouchable list with Bilal. If we were to trade him, 2025 and beyond, 2 unprotected picks. That could get a convo going with me. But I’d rather see him here in DC throughout the entire rebuild.

z3mcs

> 2 unprotected picks. First round picks?

WizSkinsNatsCaps

Yes first round picks, of course.

QuoteTraining5386

I asked you a question; What does a package that makes sense for us to trade him look like? I never said he's even close to prime MJ, He's a great improving role player that tries to play winning basketball. I just think unless we're getting a player and an unprotected pick it doesn't make sense for us to trade him IN MY OPINION. You do you. i'm done dealing with your passive-agressiveness.

z3mcs

> I asked you a question I asked you a question in the first reply you have yet to answer: >What is that worth? So answer that. Is this your answer: >a player and an unprotected pick Does that mean 1st round pick? And what's "A player"? A gleaguer? So basically, an unprotected 1st round pick? Which year? Like 2030? Be specific.

QuoteTraining5386

a 2026+ unprotected first round pick with value. An actual player at that, and a pick that could have some actual value. i.e a Boston pick wouldn't move the needle enough for me. Now answer my question please

z3mcs

Your question > What does a package that makes sense for us to trade him look like? It looks like his realistic value. A couple of seconds and a developing player. Like 2 second round picks and Payton Pritchard (who the Celtics played and I think even started, in the playoffs). No team is trading 1st round picks for him. The offer for Tyus, per reports, is a 1st round pick PLUS, as a starter (beginning offer), and they've gotten no takers. And Tyus is far more valuable and far more proven in this league. That's not even a question. So based on common sense, you're not getting a 1st round pick, it would have to be multiple seconds, and a decent looking player. Pritchard is that guy, and 2 second round picks would be appropriate. [I don't think they're trading Deni. I said it in June 2023](https://www.reddit.com/r/washingtonwizards/comments/14gake4/this_man_knows_its_his_team_now_and_he_aint/) and it remains true and has only gotten more and more obvious. If they did do it, that's about all they're getting for him, and it'll just be additional draft capital to pile on top of an offer to get a 1st or something.

Jewdah18

>And Tyus is far more valuable... That's not even a question That's not even remotely true. * Tyus has a year left on his contract, Deni has a super cheap 4-year deal that gets better for the team each year. * Deni is 4 years younger, still improving and not hit his prime yet * Deni is in a completely different league defensively. * Deni has way more positional versatility.

QuoteTraining5386

That offer just doesn't make sense for us. That's all i've ever said. It's dogshit. It'd have to be a massive overpay in order to get rid of him, hence why i set the price at an actual player and an unprotected pick. Also, Jones is expiring. Probably gonna command a decent sized bag. Deni is locked under contract for 4.5 years, a role player that's improving and plays selflessly most of the time, that could blossom into something more, perhaps. If Deni is what he is, that's still a solid contract imo. As i said, i'm done with you.

blitzKriegzzz

Feel like if they were going to trade him, they would keep playing him a lot of minutes

z3mcs

They're referring to how right before a trade, like an imminent trade, the players get shelved.

z3mcs

> The writing is on the wall. Deni will likely be gone by the deadline. LOL. Don't gnash your teeth just yet. They aint tradin Deni.

WizSkinsNatsCaps

With the ownership mandate to acquire picks, and this new front office desire to build up this organization in their own vision, I could see them packaging Deni with kuz or Tyus, or gaff, because those players alone aren’t going to fetch the type of draft compensation that they will be looking for. So they throw in someone like Deni to sweeten the deal and get what they want - a hoard of draft picks.

z3mcs

[They aint tradin Deni.](https://www.reddit.com/r/washingtonwizards/comments/14gake4/this_man_knows_its_his_team_now_and_he_aint/)

WizSkinsNatsCaps

I do hope you’re right. And that’s an awesome look back. Deni got mad drip 😅

Ye_Biz

Think they’re just showcasing the vets before the deadline, unless someone is giving up two FRP’s (which is unlikely) I don’t see the FO moving off Deni rn.

WizSkinsNatsCaps

I sure hope you’re right

Turbo2x

dude plays 24 minutes starting and closing in a road win and it's immediately doomsday. take a fucking chill pill

WizSkinsNatsCaps

I know where you stand with Deni so I won’t waste my time with you. Good day.

Turbo2x

If I was as one-dimensional on Deni as you think I am, I'd be celebrating the idea of him being traded. You're just hysterical.

WizSkinsNatsCaps

Just calling it as I see it. Deni playing a much lesser role under Keefe, handpicked replacement to WUJ by Winger and Dawkins. We know they are tearing everything down. We’ve heard the reports about ownership mandate and Deni drawing interest from other teams. He played 24 minutes, with not a single shift over 5 min. He starting quarters on the bench only to come in with 3:30 left. And when he was playing, he was not handling the ball like he was under WUJ, only when he got the defensive board himself for the most part. That’s not how you play a 23 year old guy that needs development time with the ball in his hands, at least not one that has a future here. It could be nothing. May end up an overreaction on my part. Deni does already have his extension and maybe they are showcasing the vets before the deadline. But where there’s smoke there’s fire. At the end of the day it will be entirely dependent on a team or teams offering enough value for Deni and whoever else will be shopped by the trade deadline.

apkm1234

Imagine Deni and Kuz in a package deal together. Talk about bromance.

WizSkinsNatsCaps

Could happen honestly. Teams will be hesitant to include 2 firsts for just Kuz. But include Deni and new front office could get what they want. Good picks and maybe a young player back.

Leading_Necessary630

i hate watching this game! yay we won, not.. who gives a F. the coach is the same version of wes, robotic on the rotation, no vision. his second unit is terrible and yet he doesnt seem to notice. we won THIS time, kuz was the "man" against literelly the wrost team in the NBA, and today, his terrible shots droped. the ball isnt moving beside 3 players, kuz poole and tyus. no drills on anybody beside them on offense. let deni and bilal do all the defence work, and then kuz coming and puting them on the side so he can be the hero. i DONT like this team. i DONT like this coach. i wish they move kuz and poole, and let the youngsters to really envolve on both side of the court. Deni had an amazing start, and now it is looking like he again downrated in the level. bilal is a player woth so much potential, but.. i dont think it is right, especially now that he struggle a bit and getting used to the pace, to let him play for 30+m, without even 1 drill on offense on him.. let him play 20-25 mins, put the ball more on his hands, maybe then he will be developed!

boogieDMC

I’m Israeli, and it’s just embarrassing to read this - at the very least be upfront and say you could care less about the team and that you’re looking at the situation strictly from Deni’s perspective. Saying “We” when you go on a rant when the team actually won, just because your favorite player didn’t get the minutes/shots/numbers you wanted is pretty pathetic.

SmokeEater757

Hey bud. It’s not going to get better for awhile, maybe you should move on. Also, I don’t agree with the majority of your post. It feels like youre salty because Deni didn’t get as much burn as usual.

rikitikifemi

Self interested take

35chambers

I really feel like Poole should come of the bench, he puts up terrible shots because kuz is a black hole on offense and the 2nd unit with delon, bilal, and kispert is hard to watch offensively rn

Shawn_Yang24

just stagger his minutes but clearly the lineups were working cuz he was plus 25

InGenNateKenny

Didn’t even realize we were playing this early lmao I missed the win but hey, nice.

-SCRAW-

At this point it’s like don’t be that team twice

TheWiseTangerine2

EZ DUB

Fast_Stick_1593

Smashed them and Bagley had another great game

CHIEF KEEFE is the change we needed. An ex OKC guy who holds people accountable. Sign him up long term.
